I rarely leave reviews, especially negative ones, but this experience was incredibly frustrating. I had a 9:00 AM appointment and waited almost 40 minutes just to be taken to the back. The front desk staff was actually very kind and helpful, so this review is not directed at them. But once someone finally came to do my X-rays, I asked how much longer the appointment would realistically take since I had work later in the morning. They avoided giving me a straight answer at first and eventually told me it could still take another 40 minutes to an hour. At that point, I left before they could even begin the X-rays because I simply could not keep waiting. I understand delays happen occasionally, but why schedule patients for 9:00 AM appointments if the office clearly isn't ready to see them anywhere near that time? The entire experience felt extremely overcrowded and overbooked. Honestly, I should have realized something was off when they were able to offer me a next-day appointment so easily. This is my orthodontic experience only. I do not recommend this office for Invisalign or any orthodontic care. I don't believe anyone should have to go through what I went through here. Dr. Kess should not be offering Invisalign treatment. I paid thousands of dollars out of pocket for comprehensive care, and even paid for two set of retainers that were ultimately useless, went nearly a year over my estimated time and Dr. Kess did not deliver. In March I had my "final" checkup and voiced concerns about teeth not fully settled into the final aligner and an uncomfortable, uneven bite. These concerns were brushed off several times by Dr. Kess as he assured me everything was fine and I was good to order retainers. Frustrated, I agreed to sign final paperwork and go through with "debanding". Immediately my teeth started regressing, my bite got worse and I had to reject my retainers and go back for two more corrections. It was a 6-month shitshow of arguing with Dr. Kess, explaining my issue while he resisted seeing the problem or treating it. It's now October and I'm exactly where I was in March. My molars don't touch. My front teeth grind uncomfortably. I haven't been able to chew correctly in months. I'm transferring my care to a more competent orthodontist in the hope they can fix what Dr. Kess failed to. Everyone I've spoken to at the office about this has denied any wrongdoing. Since I signed final papers and got "6 months free treatment" I was unable to get refunded even for my useless retainers. Bottom line is, I never got what I paid for. I whole hardedly recommend this dental office. I've had several terrible experiences at other dentists partially due to waiting to long to see a dentist. The doctor could have shamed me a bit for my lack of follow up when it comes to my teeth. Not here and not with this dentist. Not only did he and his staff make me feel welcome and valued but he also walked me through all of my options for going forward without judgment. On a personal note Dr. Jankowski was in process of getting my mouth back in shape when my mother-in-law passed away. At the time of the funeral I was still missing a front tooth that had broken off. He tried to rush my prosthetic so that I could have it for the funeral but it was to close to the day and not possible to get it back from the lab in t. Instead he used every tool at his disposal to make me something that would hold for the funeral and charged very little for doing this for me. Atmosphere looks and feels professional at first glance. The trained staff kept the service x-ray exam time fairly acceptable but wished they had gotten my patient dental files from previous dentist before deciding to do a new x-ray before examine the old one which is less than two months ago. Depending which dentists you get at the office will vary on good to better than good on listening to your concerns. I think the Dentist and her assistant which I got from Gentle Dental was 89% better on being gentle while doing work in my mouth than my old dentist Icon Dentals. read more

First time at Gentle Dental. I called on a Thursday morning for an emergency appointment and the earliest available was Monday morning. Hmm, not much of an emergency? I came here because I went across the street yesterday and they want me to spend $5000 to fix one tooth. Yes, one tooth. Uh, how about NO? So I came here. I'll update after my appointment. Made it in for my appt. GD was very apologetic that they couldn't get me in until today. I appreciated that they brought it up before I did. I had 18 X-rays done. The doc saw me thereafter and confirmed the same work was needed but for $900. To help with my pain they sent me to endodontist in Scottsdale in their group right away. I go to Gentle Dental for both Orthodontics and General Dentistry. I wanted to say that I love the orthodontics staff. A few times I needed to switch appointments at the last minute and they were very accommodating. They always take me back on time and I never have to wait long to see the doctor. The technicians that assist the office are very friendly as well as the front office staff. Most recently I was impressed because I broke a retainer and they got me in that day and made a new one for me right away. I would recommend their services! I just have to say my experience with Dental offices have always met my expectations but this office and location over exceeded them. Health care offices have such a stigma to them but when you Walk into Laveen Gentle Dental it's like a big warm hug feeling you get when checking into the front office, from both the general and ortho side of it. From the decor to the bomb music playing, overall it has good energy and vibes all around. It's good to know there are people who actually care for your oral hygiene and want to provide the most conservative dental treatment as well as best options for your pockets. Although the dentist was very nice they charged me double and said that's all my insurance covers. I called my insurance and they verified they cover 80%. But I had to wait for them to submit the claim. Well today I looked it up and sure enough I was over charged. I paid 514.85 when I only needed to pay $246.40. So they owe me $268.45. But they said I have to wait two weeks for them to receive payment for my insurance company to issue me the difference. So they say on my money for over a month. I may call the Arizona insurance commission and put in a complaint. Think of people who don't follow up and watch their benefits that are being overcharged and not knowing. Horrible administration! I made appointments for my sons and myself. One day prior to my appointment they told me they had to reschedule my appointment but my sons can be seen. I am a working mom. I had to rearrange things at my clinic so that I can get out on time to make it to our dental appointment. Anyway we get there and they only have one of my boys listed for an appointment. I am showing her the text of them confirming my appointment and she is just giving me this stupid look like "I see it but we don't have it on our screen." How is that possible when you verified my appointment twice. So I ask her well do you have my Appointment that someone from this office just rescheduled for me last evening. She looks on that screen and doesn't see that either. I ask to speak to the office manager of course they weren't available. There is no way I would ever go to this or any other Gentle Dental. Upon visiting again six months later after my last appointment for my annual checkup/cleaning, I was surprised to see that a new dentist was consulting with me after my cleaning. I literally did not know that the dentist had changed from my previous one until he showed up at my chair. Afterwards, I was unexpectedly billed for utilizing an out of network dentist! This place gives you the run around. I went in to have a crown replaced and was quoted $996.00 with my insurance. They would not order the new crown until I paid the full amount. Waited forever to be seen even with an appointment. The techs and dentist were super nice and great, but it seems a bit chaotic and disorganized. You can see and hear everything going on for at least 5 other patients which makes for a stressful experience if you have any anxiety about the dentist. After the exam and x-rays, I waited 35 minutes to speak to someone about my next appointment. Finally they said they'd have to just call me to discuss instead. It's been over 2 weeks and not a word. DO NOT GO HERE FOR THE ORTHODONTIST! Its seriously a waste of money and he hardly paid any attention to my teeth! On my consultation the doctor said he would make my teeth "straight" and fix a little chip on my front tooth and whiten them after my braces were removed. I got my braces here and after almost 2 and a half years i finally got them off only for my teeth to look basically the same as before getting them! My teeth dont look straight as i expected and i kept telling him on every visit that i was not satisfied with the progress and on my last 2 visits he said that it was because of the shape of my teeth??? Are you serious?! I spent $2000 for him to tell me its the shape of my teeth that dont make them look straight?! Not only that, but i never got my chipped tooth fixed OR my teeth whitened!! And when i asked about that he said that it would be done on my next visit for retainer check and when i went to that visit he didnt even look at my teeth for 10 seconds and when i mentioned AGAIN about fixing my chip he said i had to go elsewhere for that?! AWEFUL! My wife had a wisdom tooth pulled and the dentist told her she would not need antibiotics. Within 3 days we needed to go to the ER and she was admitted to the hospital with a severe infection of her saliva gland. About 36 hours later and being on constant IV steroids and IV antibiotics, they surgically went in through her neck and drained the infection (So a permanent scar). She stayed on IV antibiotics and liquid only diet for another 3 days before being discharged to an outpatient status. And a 10 day antibiotic perscription. When I called the dental office to inform them of this and state why we did not do a follow up yet, I was told that antibiotics weren't prescribed because not everyone needs them, everyone heals differently. The Hospital docs and ER docs all said she should have had antibiotics from the start because a wound was created in the mouth, one of the most bacteria infested place on the human body. And there is no doubt that it is the reason for this infection. Their lack of care is why I will never recommend them to anyone, and will never return. read more

I arrived 15 mins to my appointment for some rude Indian lady (forgot her name, think it was Lina) to not even look up and just say "Go sit down, we will be with u". I sat and waited... 40 mins passed by without ANYONE saying anything to me. Finally went up there & explained and they took me to the back smfh. I got there did X-rays and they waited another 30 mins before someone actually seen me. Complained, finally the black lady (manager, forgot her name) came and apologized. Speed up to 30 mins later, someone came, looked at my teeth, told me what needed to happen, waited an hour.... for her to come back and actually start working on me. (The dentist was awesome BTW), after that I waited another hour for someone to come clean my teeth. They never came, so the doctor told me that they couldn't do it today. I was like WTF that's what I came in there for; waited 3 hours and 30 mins for them to tell me they came clean my fuckin teeth!!! Wasn't able to pick up my son from school or make my next appointment. HUGE INCONVENIENCE! On my way home the black supervisor called and apologized and told me her manager would reach out to me to see what they could do for me since it was THEIR Fault! No one ever reached out to me!!!
