i had my braces on for so long because i needed a removal and couldn't schedule or afford it when i was a few years into having braces, sometimes yeah i missed some appts that also added into me having braces for so long like 6 yrs.. i had a baby also in 2024 and all my experiences were different ofc especially after the remodel. so when i say some of these people who worked on my teeth were nice, sometimes i felt judged for how long ive had them on for. and then towards the end the orthodontist changed at this location (i miss the one i started with) and idk i feel like they just rushed in the end. yeah i had them on for a long time but they took a mold of my teeth while one of my back right molar was crooked so when they sent me off with rubber bands, it straighten it back out and when they called saying my retainer was finished, i went to pick it up after a while my tooth hurt so bad it felt like it was being pushed. and yup they really sent me off with a crooked molar retainer so all that work for nothing because the retainer moved everything back and they shaved my teeth down they're shorter in some places. not to mention the girl who did my removal cant work a damn drill. imo/ and experience working with hand drills and clients, you never go back and forth and when i told her not to go back and forth so much on my smaller teeth, she just blamed it on the speed. she shaved one of my tooth crooked and she handled me the mirror before the ortho came in and fixed it so i know it was her but now my teeth look shorter and idk my front teeth look more bubbled at the corners and they got shaved down differently idk I actually kinda hate it cause my front teeth look like the actual shape of spongebob when he was "normal".. so at different angles my teeth do NOT look like i had braces for 6 years. all i know if CHECK YOUR MOLD BEFORE SIGNING THAT PAPER FOR A BRACES REMOVAL. i'd post my retainer molds but they're misplaced at the moment but i will post my teeth so WARNING to those who don't want to see my 1month post removal of braces and cause i already had breakfast before these pics were taken this morning on 7/30 idc read more

BEWARE!!!! My daughter had all the treatment with braces and she is still in the final process at the 75th Ave location. In order to get ready for the procedure, she had to get a root canal in the tooth 19 which costed around 700 dollars extra (The whole process was around 8,000 dls), Right after the root canal was finished, she told the doctor that she was feeling pain, and they told her that it was normal and it would last for about 3 weeks. During the Next appointment she was still in pain and a second doctor stated that the root canal was incorrectly done and the original doctor had to review it. When the first doctor reviewed the tooth again, she insisted that everything was correctly performed. After some other appointments, my daughter was still feeling pain, and finally the doctor turned the case to Avondale Endodontics. When the evaluation was done, they immediately found out that the problem was an incomplete procedure performed by Risas Dental. I went back to Risas, and they told me that Avondale endodontics should correct the issue. Avondale endodontics charged a total of 1,700 dls including the evaluation, and they corrected the problem in 1 appointment that lasted about 40 minutes. When I went back to Risas dental, I spoke to the manager to ask for a full or partial refund on the root canal since the procedure was incomplete and of course my daughter was in pain for months without having the issue corrected and suffering the risk of a permanent loss of the tooth. The manager explained to me that they cannot refund anything because the doctor said that everything was correctly done and any pain was due to an unfortunate response of the body... I told her that Avondale Endodontics scanner revealed the following: "CBCT revealed incomplete instrumentation, obturation of the D root"..... Long story short... the unfortunate response of the body was corrected in 40 fortunate minutes. Seems like the doctor will never accept the error despite the numerous opinions and diagnosis that proof the facts... I think they probably believe that patients are stupid and ignorant and will stop any complaints by blaming the patient's reaction for their bad mistakes. Money is not the issue in this case... I was only asking them to behave in a professional manner. I understand that errors can occur, and I was expecting at least a reasonable answer, however they just insulted my intelligence treating me as an idiot. read more

Please be very wary when getting treatment at this office. Dr.Goodman removed 3 of my wisdom teeth. The procedure was fast and painless. However, the recovery was not. My total recovery time was almost 2 weeks. 5 days after my extractions my cheek was super swollen and painful. I went back in and was told it was a hematoma and that it could take up to 20 days to resolve. I was patient, but my pain only got worst after I left that day. I returned 3 days later and was finally given antibiotics. The day after I began the antibiotics, there was a green discharge coming from the anesthetic injection site, which meant there was an infection. The staff is extremely friendly and hardworking, but please vouch for yourself and ask for antibiotics from the beginning. read more

I'm suing whoever dentist was working. My wife got an infection after she got her braces removed. One way to get an infection at a dentist, TOOLS ARE NOT SANITIZED! I have never been in sooo much pain after having a tooth pulled, two stars for being able to get me in on Saturday but my mouth is so sore I cannot open past certain point, can feel a huge bump through my cheek, and the pain is almost making me go to the hospital,, I've had a couple teeth pulled "surgically" never felt pain like this before,, will definitely consider going back because they did reach out to me. Motrin and Tylenol for pain doesn't even come close to touching the pain,, just my experience, I didn't have to go to the hospital after all but I changed my star rating because they did reach out to me to try and help me out,, which says alot considering most places don't care!! I'm really surprised by some of the bad reviews. I've always gone to the same dentist my whole life and he's good but I heard from a friend how nice the Drs are at Risas and thought about my dentist and realized that he doesn't really go out of his way to provide a good experience. I'm so happy I listened to my friend!! Everyone at the office was SO NICE and it made me realize that I could have actually enjoyed going to the dentist for the last 10 years. I've never seen so many people that seem to love their jobs. They were smiling and they made me feel really comfortable. They offered me water and I didn't have to wait very long. The dr even came and spent some time to get to know me before the X-ray which my old dentist never did. I was also really surprised at all of the cool gadgets. When I was laying down there was a tv on the ceiling so I could watch tv and they also showed me my teeth so I could see what's going on. I'll definitely be back!! read more

I have currently been waiting for 45 minutes and was told the dentist is backed up and i will be waiting for another 30 minutes. This is unacceptable!! Unfortunately, I have already paid for these services and will have to wait. It's Friday.. We make appointments for a reason.. I am paying a babysitter to sit my toddler. Why can't the dentist be prompt as well? Why does the business not hire more dental professionals to assist with the high amount of patients scheduled for the day. Trusting Risas Dental with my dental treatment was a huge mistake! If you're looking for dental services, please save yourself the hassle and find another dentist. I went to the location at 75th Ave and Thomas for a routine cleaning and to get a bracket fixed that fell off. I was there on 11/26/2021 at 10:50 am, with my appointment for cleaning at 11:00 am. They called me at about 11:15 and the cleaning ended about 11:50 am. At about 12:45 pm I asked them when they were going to call me to fix the bracket and they said whenever they have a room available and also that they need to take care of the people with appointment first, which I think is ridiculous because they had people with appointments like myself waiting for 5 hours. Finally I left at about 1:30 pm. very disappointed. I will not recommend it at all read more

I saw a lot of cars in the parking lot, so I was not sure if I would be treated like a patient or like a number. From the moment I walked in I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and offered a bottle of water. I was brought back promptly and the doctor was very friendly. If I could give 0 stars I would. I made a yelp just so I could share this review. Avoid this place at all cost!!Risas dental attempted to tell scam me and manipulate me into thinking I had 7 cavities in my mouth when I have NONE! For background, I just seen my primary dentist 5 months prior for a cleaning/ check up exam and for an oral surgeon referral for wisdom teeth removal to get braces. My primary gave me the go ahead to go and get braces after I got my wisdom teeth removed. I go get my wisdom teeth taken care of and my O.S. even refers me to an ortho for braces saying my mouth is ready for the process. I then come here because I heard of their affordable prices. I get here and they tell me I have 7 cavities and that they would fill them that same evening visit. I was utterly perplexed that I somehow managed to get 7 cavities in a five month span and that it somehow slipped two separate dentist minds to tell me I had amassed 7 cavities. Doesn't add up right!? Thankfully I did not capitulate to their pressure of having them do the work right there on the spot and passed. So, I went to back to my primary afterwards asking him if I just completely let myself go or if I lost my mind and even HE WAS BAFFLED when I explained to him that I somehow managed to get "SEVEN" cavities in a 5 month span. He reassured me that I had zero dental work needing to be done! He even told me himself in the most professional manner possible to avoid places such as this with such, "questionable reputations". TL:DR Risas Dental lied about needing dental work I did not need! I seen two dentist months prior to get wisdom teeth removed in preparation for braces and was given the go ahead with 0 cavities and I come here to discover I managed to get "SEVEN" cavities in 5 months. I took one of my best friends, who had a very painful broken tooth and was incredibly nervous too boot. We camped out from 3.a.m. waiting for an extraction for their labor of love event (September, 5th 2016) today, and other than a litter bug, we had no problems whatsoever. As soon as the pre event began, we were greeted by some of the most upbeat, well groomed, helpful, courteous, polished and presentable staff i have ever met! They even helped fill out the paperwork because we couldnt read the spanish instructions (this was a printing error! Please dont consider this a biased moment!). My friends fears and nerves were immediately put to rest meeting these amazing people. We were given breakfast burritos, crispy cream doughnuts, and various pastries right off the starting line. Water was easily available, the bounce house was well maintained, and the snow cones were never ending. Face painting was a fun touch with great talent, and i--radio (i heart radio) kiosk was pleasant and friendly! The doctors, and nurses were quick, exact, friendly, funny, and happily answered any and all questions we had with ease and a smile. My best friend had the pleasure of getting doctor Zack, who had her local anesthetic in with minimal pain and lightning speed, and her tooth was extracted in 26 seconds ( i timed it!) With absolutely zero pain and a teensy bit of pressure. Finally, with a firm handshake and a plethora of goodbyes and pleasant wishes we were out the door in exactly 17 minutes and 19 seconds. So not only do i recommend them, i would sing it if it meant getting you to go here to make all your dental work as painless as possible for you and your wallet. If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. They did a terrible job,my dad went today,to get his tooth removed and the doctor was not professional at all. He put the anesthesia on and then proceeded to wait almost an hour for it to work. He came to the room to take his tooth out and when he begin to remove the tooth,my dad told him he wasn't on anesthesia no more and he still removed my fathers tooth . My fathers who's and elderly men almost fainted of how much pain he was in, an the doctor did nothing about it. It's been an hour since he got home and he is still in excruciating pain. read more

I wish their office management would have reached out, because they're the ones I had the biggest problem with, rather than put it on the doctor to make it right, but I really appreciate him going above and beyond to make things as right as he can. Dr. Armstrong has been great for the past 4 years, and counting. I used to live in Phoenix at the beginning of my treatments for braces. Unfortunately, I had to move back to California. I've still managed to travel for my adjustments without any problems. There are times when I come in before an appointment and they still take care of me. It may be a bit of a wait but it's typical to wait for any doctor. This location happens to be one of the busiest, so I'm very patient. The staff here is friendly at all times, even when dealing with impatient people. Shout out to Gary though! Great conversation during my visit and awesome vibes! I had an appointment in April but because of COVID 19 it got cancelled completely understandable. Well we are now in July and I never received a call to say when they opened back up. However I was still charged for braces for the months of April , May , June and that was fine too. My issue was that now that I called I was told I couldn't get an appointment until August even though they are open now and I told them my braces wires are broke and sticking out. These people are liars.They lied to me and my dentist.They said they had a periodontist and I made my appointment.I got there and they wanted Xrays.I had just had X rays from my dentist who gave me a referral to a periodontist.They made me wait for almost and hour and then said they could refer me to a periodontist.They were supposed to be my referral.They told my dentist they had a periodontist.They didnt not.They lied to me when I called for the appointment and expalinsed I needed a periodonist.They lied to my dentist.They wanted the X rays so they could charge my insurance.Thats all they wanted.To rip off my insurance.
