I have two HVAC systems on my roof and during the last big storm I had two leaks in my roof under both systems. I spent 8 days getting estamates to be sure I had seen all my options and was getting a fair price. Ironicly Gentry Construction was my first call and If I knew then what I know now I could have saved myself a lot of headache and just approved their estamate. I had lower bids but was not satisfied with the patch work they offered. Gentry was not going to mess around and just patching things up. They went the extra mile to make things right and repaired the area around and under the HVAC systems. As Dana Gentry told me, "We are not creating a patch, we are fixing the problem. This fix will last this roof and the next". After witnessing the work done, I am a believer. I also had many higher bids as well. But no one still had a solution that was as complete or as good as Gentry Construction. And unlike some company's they did not attempt to upsale me on buying a whole new roof, or in one case even new updated HVAC systems. During the entire job I was impressed. Gentry Construction was very professional. They exceeded in all areas (except one, we will get to that). They arrived on time. They were polite. Even though the work required, stripping the shingels, which is very messy, the job site was never a mess. At the end of the day I was left with a feeling of confidense that not only did I get a good deal but the work done was well beyond satisfactory. The one area that could be improved would be scheduling. I like to know as far in advance as possible when my job is scheduled. I was told this week but was not given a time or date beyond the generic "this week". I was contacted the day before and was told the crew would be out in the morning. Several years ago I looked through my window and noticed a roofing crew tearing down the neighbors roof across the street. The crew started at the top and all together in a line, at the same time tore off the roof. I remember thinking, that is very efficient team work. Later when I looked again they were completely done! By the end of the day the roof was completely removed and the underlayment installed, ready for completion the next day. I walked over across the street and got the contact information JUST in case we ever needed our roof replaced, I wanted these guys to do it. Thank god I did! The 70 miles an hour windstorm that came in 2022 completed wiped off the roof on our rental property. After getting a bunch of quotes from questionable roofers, getting ridicules quotes that the property insurance wouldn't approve, I remembered Gentry Construction. He had his crew out at our place the next day! Good crew, good work and most important willing to work with our situation. The wind damaged my roof and the insurance company cashed me out. After looking at reviews and etc I choose Gentry Construction and I'm glad I did. I explained I needed my whole roof repaired and they're bid was on pare with the insurance company pay out. The 3 man crew Stripped and prepared for next day shingles in one day. Shingles and trimmings done next day. Mind you that's with cutting out dry rot and water damaged on roof and large trim boards around the front and back. I was impressed how hard the crew worked, from the men that installed the roof to the young man that picked up the trailer. All of them acted professionally at all times and we're very polite. It came out on the agreement price but I'm sure they threw in stuff cause I see two new vents on the bottom and my whirlwind birds on top are really spinning now. Workmanship and Service was Top shelf and nobody beat their price. I'm a veteran and worked construction most my life, I'm very happy with my new roof. We had an emergency call on a holiday! They came EARLY, the next morning! Our shower drain was clogged & overflowing soaking the whole bathroom floor. They worked quickly and diligently to get the drain unclogged in a timely manner. We found out it was our septic tank backing up into our home... were renters and had no idea how long it had been since the septic was serviced... luckily we got ahold of our landlord, after the job was done & got everything taken care of. Tuesday's rain brought water into our kitchen from above. After calling another roofing company Wednesday morning and hearing it would be 2 weeks before they could be out to take a look, I called Gentry. Dana was no doubt busy when I called, but we spoke for a few minutes and he was at the house a couple hours later to have a look. He diagnosed the issue, gave me a quote to remedy and said he'd have a crew out before the weekend to fix things up. The crew was here as scheduled on Friday, did the agreed upon work, and left no sign that they were ever here. We recently hired Gentry Construction for a brand new roof and we are extremely pleased with the result. Dana, the owner, is a true professional who ensures his team delivers quality work. My only very slight critique is that the cleanup afterward could have been a bit more meticulous to meet my personal standard. I had used Gentry Construction back in Jan 2021 as I had a big leak in my fireplace. They came out the next day. Replaced my flashing. So going forward I was worried about the valleys being clogged up and an edge tile broken. Called and I got a response right away. Sean and crew came out on Saturday and accessed the roof and valleys. They found a few more tiles broken , cleaned the valleys and replaced the tiles all at a reasonable price. Did a good job on my roof problems for long time. Efren the foreman guy told me that the contractor who build our house didn't do it properly. Several people keep trying to fix the problem but failed. This company was able to pinpoint the root cause and fixed it. We got some rain yesterday and I don't see any water leaks.
