Furnace went out on Tuesday. Called my warranty company who referred the job to DECKER BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION to call my tenant to schedule a time. THEY NEVER CALLED and NEVER CONTACTED me OR my tenant. After a day and a half, I called them directly and they said the soonest they could come out was Monday. They cleared all the dying plants and trees and laid an irrigation system, extended patio, and beautiful lawn with flower/rock bed. She was very kind and helpful. They've worked on my AC unit in the past year and did a great job. If I could give Zero stars I would. It has been sense July 22nd and I have been waiting to receive service today is August 27th. The vendor has not been in touch with me for updates and follow ups until Wednesday to let me know they got to part. I still have not had my Air conditioning taken care of and today they called to cancel because a tech did not show up. It's going to be another extremely hot weekend not to mention I called off work to have them come. If you have a Elder family member or pet at home or live where temperatures are 99 and over I would not recommend this place especially if it's an urgent need. I feel like I have been extremely patient and understanding with Decker Brothers I don't recommend using them in the future for other clients needs ever. This has been the the worst service I have received in a while.I am very disappointed with the lack of communication and commitment. read more

Decker Brothers installed our patio cover a few years back with all the winter storms we had a few leaks. Kennedy in the office promptly set us up with a service call once the rains stopped. Ron and his team came out and took care of the leaks. What a wonderful crew, Ron and his guys were professional and very down to earth and listened to our concerns. We also have our HVAC service with them, Jordan has been handling our HVAC service from the start he is absolutely wonderful! Extremely concerned. Used Decker 2 years ago to replace my entire AC (through home warranty). However, less than 2 years later, we had the same issues and my home warranty was no longer in place (no renewal offered). I called Decker to have them come out and the techs then told me the entire unit needs to be replaced again. When I asked for specifics, they said the unit was making a "loud noise," and that the "amps were too high," but that "everything is under warranty, so I won't have to pay a thing." Three weeks later, no updates. I called the office and got the run around, "I will need to talk to so and so and call you back." I believe one person did finally call back to say they were still waiting on the parts. I then get an email with a full replacement quote for $4/5K. Nothing about a warranty and no details on what the techs did to test the unit - just that a "full replacement was needed." I then called to follow up, since I was told "everything was under warranty." I was then advised only parts were under warranty and the front office wasn't told about the warranty . I then received another quote for $2K for labor. I called back to inquire about my prior warranty and that they installed the prior unit and that it didn't seem right that I had to pay another $2K for an issue that supposedly was resolved when the entire unit was recently replaced (and that new units are supposed to last 10-15 years...). They said they would call the manufacturer to see if they could cover some labor costs and would also send "their expert" out to try to further diagnose. The next morning the "specialist" comes out. He was only there for a minute before getting back in his car. I immediately called him as it appeared he was leaving and inquired if he was going to run any tests? He said he wasn't there to run any tests and was only there to grab something for the replacement. I then explained what the office said about having him come out to run more tests. He said this was not in his notes and that he would need to call the office. He then came back and supposedly ran some more tests, although I'm very skeptical this was done given the process I witnessed when I got a second quote. Also, we accidentally conveyed to him that the amps were running low (we misspoke and the initial quote states amps were running too high), but this individual agreed! And said, yes, I see the same problem. So, more red flags. I then get the same $2k estimate and no new info about whether the manufacturer was even called. I the got a second opinion. They came out immediately and the tech spent 45 minutes running numerous tests, showing us the results and explaining everything. He said he was getting some high readings, but didn't hear the same "loud" noise initially reported and that while the amps were running higher, he didn't think a replacement was needed, especially since the unit was just replaced. He then told us the outdoor unit needed hosed off to remove dust and other particles to ensure the unit can properly function. He then showed us and re-ran the tests. All the numbers came back within normal levels. He also stated he didn't see a single issue with the outside shell and that when he ran different tests on the TXV, he also didn't see any issue with that. He did note a small oil spot and said he would advise watching this for the next few days to see what happens and need be, a specific part inside the compressor may need to be replaced, which would cost about $500 for labor, but he wanted to be sure there was an actual leak. He said if this was an issue, it was most likely a manufacturing defect and not something caused by an install, but that if certain tests were used to confirm the install was a success, it could have been caught. I appreciated that he didn't feel comfortable concluding this issue was something that should have been caught and that this defect could have been something showed up only in last year. However, he also didn't say this meant all proper tests were run when replacement was installed. He then went inside the house and took temp measurements, which Decker never did. All in all, I was very disappointed and very concerned with the lack of knowledge of all the Decker techs as well as their inability to answer my specific questions. Or the fact that the second opinion tests never came close to what Decker was saying. My mind goes to an elderly person being taken advantage of in a situation like this or to others who may not have the means of paying for a second opinion. I will most likely file a formal complaint. It was also clear the front and back office were not in communication with one another, which made me feel like I was just being told whatever it took to be appeased and to go along with the replacement. Very unprofessional, especially considering I couldn't even get a basic update after 4 weeks. This is just my experience, but I will never use this or recommend this company again. read more

We just had a patio cover installed. Though we are happy with the cover itself, we are not happy with the electrical work they did!! This eyesore takes away from what could be a beautiful area. When we met to talk about this project, it was never mentioned outlets would stick out 6+ inches from the wall and we would be left with an absolutely ugly conduit line and switch box. We had to pay an electrician to come out and fix this mess. The install was completely rushed with them leaving a mess in my yard. I spent multiple days trying to clean up the metal shavings that they just blew around our patio and into our pool. The white ceiling was left with black fingerprints all over, which I also spent 2 hours cleaning up. While up there cleaning, I was able to see all the dents and scuffs that were left by the rushed install. Also, the boxes where the fans were going to be installed were left uncapped. My husband had to go out and buy covers himself to cover up the wires to be able to pass inspection. All of this on top of the poor communication leaves much to be disappointed with. read more

Our home warranty company sent Decker Brothers out years ago for an AC repair. We were so happy with that technician that we have stayed with Decker Brothers for all of our heating/AC service work since then although we typically try to keep our business local. Recently we had our heater serviced, as usual. Our typical guy, Donald came and did most of the work but he appeared to be training someone who was supposed to clean our reusable filter we purchased through them earlier this year. I noticed this was not done. I called the office to voice my disappointment and Christy was super understanding of my annoyance. She called me back to let me know she spoke with the owner and they were mailing my back my check and then some for the inconvenience. Although this visit wasn't up to par, I greatly appreciate that Christy and the owner went above and beyond to try and make it right. With that kind of customer service, I have zero hesitation with continuing to work with them. read more

This review is for a patio cover. The quality of the cover and workmanship was well done, however this was overshadowed by the poor customer service. 1. After the initial site visit, it took 18 days before I received an estimate on paper. At first I gave it a few days before emailing to ask about it, and then since I needed it completed within a certain time frame, I checked in every few days, and each time was told I would receive it very soon. Then with the initial estimate, many details were left out, such as that we wanted the old structure removed, no electricity, etc. 2. When Joseph came the 2nd time to finalize the contract, we discussed putting up curtains on the 2 ends of the cover. He did say that even if we could not get the curtains by the time of the install, it would be quick for one of his crew to come by afterwards to help to do it. I did try my best to have the curtains rods ready, however I had to return the first set I bought due to incorrect sizes, and when the 2nd set came on the day of the install, we could not be present to open the package. I explained this to Joseph who said that someone would come at some point to put them up. After I did not hear from him 2 weeks later, I texted him and then did not get any reply. I did email them a complaint to give them a chance to respond, but guess what? No response. read more

They did. A great job in a timely matter. I needed a poach in before a party we would be having and they came thru. It's been about 4 yrs and still looks great. The only issue is that I should've wired the outside fans separate from the porch light, but I didn't think of the down side. But that was my choosing. Wish they would've given some input though. Definitely separate them, cause when it comes to summer and you want the ceiling fans on during the day but the porch light on during the night you have to turn off the ceiling fans so they don't run at night too (save on electricity). read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. Last year in July this company, to include John Decker himself, came out to service our air conditioning unit through our home warranty company. The home warranty covered the recharging of our unit but we paid additional to have it cleaned and serviced as to make it more efficient and last longer. Less than a year later we turned on our air conditioner and it did not work. We called the Home Warranty company and they sent the same company out. The first visit was at the end of the day (5pm) on a Friday. Basically, even if they figured out the problem it would have been too late for them to call the Home Warranty company to get the needed approval for repair. The technician said that he couldn't do anything because the Home Warranty company would require him to put sealant into the unit to recharge it and he could not reach them at that time to get approval. The tech told me that I could pay out of my own pocket to have coolant added to the unit though. During the final phone call of the day with the Decker office, their scheduler told me the next available opening to continue the service was the following Wednesday. On Tuesday morning I called to find out if there was any way they could move the service up because I was at home recovering from a surgery and needed air conditioning. John Decker got on the phone and explain to me that they have a lot of calls and they could not schedule me sooner. He also told me that they do not even use sealant anymore. So basically what the tech told me the previous Friday was completely wrong and was a waste of a trip On that Wednesday morning I called the Decker company to get a better idea of what time they would be out. Even though the window was from 1 to 5 p.m. the scheduler told me that the tech would probably be there by 2. I stressed to her he needed to be there as soon as possible so he could call the Home Warranty company and get approval for whatever repairs needed to be done. The tech arrived at almost 5 p.m. again. He troubleshot the system and once again could not proceed without approval from the Home Warranty company which by that time was closed again. I told the tech that I would contact his office the next morning to find out what was going to be done and that we would most likely not be using their company again. I called and left a message at the Decker company to have someone call me back first thing the next morning to resolve the issue. I did not receive a call and I eventually ended up calling them. Once again I was passed off to John Decker who again tried to dismiss the issue about scheduling and could not understand what I was trying to tell him about needing someone to be there earlier in the day in case the Home Warranty company needed to be contacted for approval. He told me that there are other warranty companies that are open later and sometimes can be contacted after hours. That's great for those companies but my home warranty company is not part of that group, which I told them prior to this point. Ultimately, if you need a company who uses good business practices, efficient communication and common sense to resolve issues, I WOULD NOT recommend using this company!!! read more

I purchased a home warranty with First American Home Warranty (FAHW). My A/C is not working, so I set up a service request for repair. They gave the job to Decker Brothers Construction. Decker Brothers checked the A/C and sent a message to FAHW to replace the compressor. FAHW never responded to Decker Brothers but when I message them, they say they have asked Decker Brothers for more information. Both Decker Brothers and FAHW keep pointing their fingers at each other claiming that the other company is not responding. I have already spent $600+ on home warranty and $75 for the Decker Brothers to visit the property. Decker Brothers took their sweet time and gave me the first appointment for 10 days after I reported the problem. It is impossible to get hold of a real person at FAHW. It seems like no one works there. They are there to just collect annual renewal money. read more

One time my wife took the day off from work and had them scheduled to come and service our HVAC. They were a no call no show. When my wife called to see when they were going to come by. They said someone was sick and it wasn't warm enough for them to check it out. We gave them another chance. Same thing except I took the day off! Again no call no show when I called them they said they were tied up on another job and it wasn't warm enough. It was 84 degrees that day. We asked to have the owner call us about this he never did. AC went out so my home warranty Old Republic had this company service my AC. They came out at told me my condenser had to replaced along with some other parts. They also informed me that I should receive a call back to schedule repair when they received approval from the home warranty. Three weeks go by with no response so I call them for a status update and they say their waiting for parts. I call the home warranty company to see what the hold up is and they inform me that they have sent them approval and what is covered by my warranty. When I call decker brothers and let them know about this, they inform me that they are waiting for the Home warranty to order the parts for them. In the end the the Decker brothers never calls back when on multiple occasions they tell me that someone will get back to me. In the end my home warranty transferred my service to another company. This company is very unprofessional and my best recommendation is to tell your home warranty to use a different provider for your service since they have many bad reviews dealing with home warranties. read more

From a little disappointing to flat out disappointed I called John Decker and he came out to give me a quote my wife and I agreed on a price included that they will obtain the permits and installation of a fan and per contract stated they well start and finish at a specific date. I get a phone call a day before the end date to set up appointment. As a consumer it's not my responsibility to call and remind you. So I reschedule the appointment 1 week out to plan accordingly. The workers show up and my wife didn't have any issues with the installation really nice and professional. The workers ended up coming back another day to finish really didn't bother me. At this point we just need a inspection to pass. We never set an appointment or nor did we get notice that the city inspector was coming, it was poor communication on their part and I told the front office and John it's hard for me to respond back due to the nature of the business I'm in. So I told them to contact my wife. Finally the 2nd attempt to pass inspection was schedule, yet no notice or communication to notify me of an inspector to come. I come home to a not posted on my fence with a nail into my fence stated work completed ok to enter. I was piss that the workers puncture a hole into my fence to post a note. So I finally called the front office and they demanded payment - inspection fees I told the lady I am not paying for something that hasn't pass inspection she said, u can pay for the patio - inspection, I told her that doesn't make sense for me to pay for something that didn't pass inspection and next thing I get stuck with penalties and fines totally ridiculous question to keep asking. So all in all a projected project that should of been completed in 3 days took longer than I expected. Communication was really poor with this business.
