The team showed up on time and ready to go on the promised date and spent the next few days crawling thru attic spaces in 104 degree weather without a complaint. After all the bats and blown in insulation was in place, the various holes in walls and ceilings patched they did a fantastic job of cleaning up. Two thumbs up. If I had more thumbs they'd get them.

They informed my husband there were no notes on their work order to pick up payment and REFUSED to take our check. The day after Thanksgiving we received a certified letter from this company with the very first invoice for the work. The letter from Empire Insulation, was a California Preliminary Notice notifying us of a lien they could put on the property. REALLY? This is how this company bills their customers? I understand the why's behind this action, what I don't get is why your men REFUSED payment. I mean I'm sure this action cost this company a couple of hundred dollars from fee's and administrative costs. Plus I would never use them or anyone else who uses this as their normal billing practice. What a legal mess this is going to be. I have no trust now. Wouldn't it of been easier to just have your employees take payment at the time the job was completed? Also one of the men turned our hot water heater to pilot, we assume they did this for safety reasons. Thank goodness my husband give the hot water heater a look, and found that the control had been changed, cause I would be going after this company for my plumber bill. Just one more thing to check before you allow any company to enter your home to do business. "Ask what their billing policy is." Unacceptable

But even after cleaning it out, the smell wasn't going away. Then the vent started giving off either smoke or steam, and in a panic I immediately turned off the dryer. Thank God I didn't start a dryer fire. The second I shut it off and made sure everything was ok, I opened Yelp and searched for a dryer vent cleaner. Chris's Insulation came up, he had great ratings, he was super close by, so after calling a different service and going to voicemail, I called Chris. Chris picked up after the second ring. When I told him that I needed someone to clean our dryer vent and what had happened, he said he could come out either between 5:00 and 6:00 pm that evening or the next day. It was already mid-afternoon when I called, so I was surprised to hear him say he could still come out same-day, but I decided to have him do that since I was free and also still a little shaky following what happened with the vent either smoking or steaming. Chris showed up during the window he quoted and wasted no time getting to work. He started the second he arrived and was done within the hour. His pricing was incredibly reasonable and fair and so far, in the couple of weeks since he was here, we've had no issues with the dryer. Before he left, he also sent us a ton of pictures of what the vent looked like post-cleaning. Super happy and relieved.

She's had different companies come out to check her sewage line after finding roots in the system, every last one of them said she needs to replace the system. And that they need to dig out under the house. After having herk's come by and give his opinion, he said the pipe was already replaced and roots were coming in from the connection. He helped my mom call the city for them to take care of it, which they did. Cleaning out the line of roots and also apply weed and roots killer. He explained everything very well and also let my mom see what he saw on camera and explained it to her so she understands what's really going on. She sent Mario out to my house the very next and I got a free estimate on the spot! Mario was also great and very knowledgable too. He told us exactly what had to be done and charged us a fair price. Initially I wanted just to get it repaired since I wanted to get the minimum work needed to get my Mediterranean style home to be sellable when I was ready to put my house on the market. I contacted several roof contractors on Yelp to get an estimate for a roof repairs for Spanish tiles. Some responded they were busy so never came over. A few came to inspect the damage but later ghosted and never even gave me an estimate. Manny was the one person who gave me an estimate for both a repair and a total replacement for my roof. Initially, I went with the roof repair so I could use the savings for other home projects. Manny accepted the work and his team eventually started to address and focus on the damage near my master bedroom and to get tiles that closely match my 50 year old tiles. During the work, Manny later spoke to me and shared the extent of the roof damage and recommended that I replace the whole roof rather than do the patch work Manny was willing to do. Even though the whole replacement of the roof was 4x the price of the repair, I respected Manny's knowledge and honesty that a whole new roof was the way to go. The work took two months since it took a month for the tiles to be ordered and shipped from Southern California. Manny was always easy to reach and kept me up to date on things. His workers showed up early at 7 am and ended their day around 3 pm when it got too hot. Not only did he do my roof but also the gutters that needed replacing. On the final day, Mannys team left my balcony and the area clean of dust and debris. I'm very fortunate to have had Manny and Universal Roofing do my roof when other contractors were not willing to do the task or give an estimate because it was Spanish tiles. Would recommend any homeowner looking for a roofer to fix, repair or replace your roof to contact Universal Roofing since his price is fair and the workmanship and professionalism is outstanding.

I don't have the original contract in hand yet, but have requested from previous owners, and will verify if this is true or not. Super disappointing when people don't stand behind their work. Furthermore, He refused to come out at all, even to give me an estimate to repair the leak. He ignored all of my calls. As a real estate agent, I will NOT be recommending this company to my clients. I recommend RESCUE ROOFER out of Manteca, who replaced four faulty roof vents and sealed everything up, for a reasonable price. Tim performed the inspection/estimate, and the repair all in one day! When I am ready to build my ADU later this year, I will be reaching out to Rescue Roofer for my roof. For reference, their warranty is 15 years.

Stay Away!!! I can't give less than 1 star or I would!…read more David is quite charming, don't be fooled, his work is suspect. He did my roof in April 2026 and failed to protect the roof adequately during a rainstorm and I sustained nearly $200,000 of damage to the interior of my home. Fortunately, my insurance is paying, but I will be unable to live in my home for 4-6 months. When he finished the roof, I was concerned about the quality of the roof work, so I hired another roofer to inspect Golden Top's work. The new roofer reported about 10 items that were incorrectly done or below industry standard. Armed with this report, I was able to get Golden Top to fix the items. If I hadn't gotten a new roofer to inspect and report, I never would have known how poor the work was. The worst of these was that Golden Top they had roofing nails penetrating through the exterior eaves all around the perimeter of my home. This is a major source of potential moisture damage. David agreed that is was not up to Industry Standards and agreed to repair it and he did. But he did a crappy job, and when I told him I was not satisfied, his comment to me was, "well, we are not painters. If you want to hire a painter to fix it, you can, but I am not paying for it." See photo of my finished eaves below - crappy paint job and left bare unpainted wood. All this and the roof and gutters with guards cost me over $90,000!!!!! You have been warned.
