A lot has transpired since my first introductory session where I was absolutely clueless about a transformative journey I was embarking on. I sincerely thank Edmond Gordon, DPT for referring me to Adam Hewitt, LMP owner and health practitioner at The River Stone Shiatsu Center. Yes, it took a reprioritization for time, finances, self care, and firm commitment to see it through. I had to also open my mind to learn new concepts and be receptive to change. Cumulative effects from stress, bad indulgent diet, lack of quality sleep, sedentary lifestyle, and a host of chronic conditions and other issues presented as a challenge. I needed to own up and do something to improve my quality of life. There was a time I could swim laps for an hour, run 12 miles a day, ride my bike 50 miles, carry multiple 50 pound bags of material. My mantra was that I can sleep all I want when I'm dead. Life's too short, eat dessert first. It was always go, go, go, go, go! That was then, fast forward to now. My lifestyle, attitude, and stressful environment caught up with me. Is the rest of my life just going to be full of pain, restrictions, medication, and essentially waiting to die.
