So I needed to remove the heat shield from the bottom of my car and they found another problem with my car. My brakes and rotors needed to be changes as I haven't changed them for about 2-3 years. One thing that I have realized when having a car for a while as a young person is its better to be proactive rather than reactive when it comes to fixing your car. The owner, I assume, told me to wait a bit so he can look at my vehicle. Before doing so, he called the Chevy dealership and identified the problem. While waiting, a local customer told me we picked the best place in Brooklyn...and while he doesn't live nearby, he always takes his car here. Just so grateful to find this shop. Let me start by saying great service all around. I meet and spoke with Craig (son of 'George and Son'). Craig and the garage crew are personable and knowledgeable. I was very comfortable talking with him/them about what I needed done. Initially I came in for a tune-up, and after talking with Craig I was able to reassess my immediate need(s) and proceed accordingly. (By the way I suggest scheduling your tune-up if that's what you need, as the procedure can be a day's work.) For this visit I opted instead to have some basic maintenance work done and hold off for a bit on the tune-up. They were courteous, efficient and I didn't cringe too bad when I got my invoice. I was there a little over an hour and that's with other customers coming in and out of the premises. When I'm ready for the tune up I'll be sure to call these guys. I had been using a mechanic from the car dealership where I got my car serviced. He worked on my car outside of the shop and the prices were really good. My biggest issues with him was his lack of concern for time and his inability to focus when his friends are around while he's trying to work. Anyway... I needed something done badly to my car and this guy just completely stopped answering his phone because I could no longer get him discounts to certain things anymore. So I expressed my frustrations to a good friend of mine who told me about this place. He and his mom have been servicing their vehicles here for years and suggested I bring my by. I was initially introduced to Craig. He's an awesome guy. He's very fair and honest and tells you like it is. The mechanic who usually does the work on my car, Deon, is one of the dopest human beings ever! He's super cool and down to earth. He finds EXACTLY what's wrong and even gives you a heads up on what can go wrong next and what preventative measures you can take to ensure your problem won't happen again. All the mechanics here are cool. And the pricing is much cheaper than other places I've visited. I highly suggest this wonderful establishment and I wish I could give it 10 stars. I absolutely LOVE George and Sons Auto Repair! It is the only place I will take my car. This is the 3rd car this business has serviced for me and I have never been disappointed. Craig has sold the building and left he and his father were the original owners of the land, building and business. I'm assuming he sold it to the existing worker that acting like Big Shots and treating customers like C***. I have been going there for years and loved how humble Craig was till today. The guy sent me to Petes Tires to replace my tires maybe they have a hook up to make referals says he cant do my inspection without it. After $350+ and waiting 1 hour I came back he literally kicked me out the shop and said dont waste my time if you dont have cash. Who do they think they are talking to customers like this. Cash? Why not card or at least ask me nicely to go to an ATM. I will NEVER go back to this cesspool of a shop, the shop itself has history of great customer service but the Guy "NOT DEON" theres another one there that you have to watch out how he runs his mouth. read more

They are quick and efficient. I called first before I went; spoke to Craig who was very nice and pretty much told me to "come in so we can take care of you". I don't recall the mechanic's name but I told him what we needed (inspection) and he took care of us right away. It was definitely busy in there; many people were having their cars serviced for different reasons but the guys were uber-friendly. I called ahead to get my car checked and they assured they will take a look at it; but once I arrived, they told me to wait with my car outside of the lot for a couple of minutes and nobody came back out to check it. I waited for more than 20 minutes and then left for another repairer. They also yelled about blocking their driveway even though I was waiting for them to return and tell me whether or not they will be able to service my car. I went there because of their good reviews. I've been looking for "my car shop" for years. After all, it's like selecting your kid's pediatrician (lol). When my great uncle took me to George and Sons and explained to me that it had long been "our family's car shop", I was hesitant but decided to give it a try. I was so impressed by how well I was treated and taken care of - not the usual BS auto shops like to give to women (especially). I just want to say how appreciative and happy I am to have found this place. Thank you Craig for all of your help!! Just a quick google search to find a good mechanic in my area and they came up. Initially, I had my car towed after 8 months of it sitting idle in a drive way. AAA told me that at the time they had two places near the location that I could get towed to for free, but by the time my boyfriend got there (Bay Diagnostic) with the tow guy from AAA (who was fantastic btw), they were closed. The very next morning, I called BAY and they told me that the manager has to take a look at my car and then he would call by the end of that day. Didn't happen. Anyway, long story short, the next morning after that is when I heard back and they gave me a RIDICULOUS number, for something I believe shouldn't have costed that much. Let's just say close to 1000 dollars. That day I told them no thanks and was on my way to getting the work done elsewhere. Found George and Sons, and thought let me give them a call. Craig gave me an estimate after I already knew what was wrong,( 700 dollars less than what BAY tried to charge) then he said that he would get started on it first thing in the morning. However, I did need to get the car towed from BAY to George and sons. I told Craig, and he gave me two different numbers. The first guy was pretty pricey, the second gave a different quote which was better, but the dispatcher was nasty. (My boyfriend says the actual tow guy was pretty cool). Best Service in all of NYC+++ If you need anything from repairs to a new inspection, this is definitely the place to bring your car. When I first pulled my car in George & sons lot, I was warmly greeted by the main man Craig. My first visit I needed an inspection for 2015. Little did I know that my brake light was out and that my car was going to fail the inspection test... But Craig relieved me of all my stress and replaced the bulb at no cost and I left with a new inspection in just minutes. After my first experience, of course I went back for repair services! I have returned there on numerous occasions for a new car battery, headlights, brake lights and other repairs. And every time I leave, they surprise me with their kindness and them being so down to earth and trustworthy. All those pre-conceived notions and stereotypes that car mechanics take advantage of individuals is NOT true at George & sons. Craig is by far the most trustworthy mechanic I've dealt with and I can see that many of his customers and clients feel the same way. I have been coming to George off and on for the past 5 or so years. I recently move to New Jersey and had car problem. At the recommend of a neighbor I used a different mechanic.....BIG MISTAKE. I should have stuck with George and Sons. After weeks of back and forth plus hundredths of dollars later. I call George and Sons one day with a burned out clutch, my car is towed from New Jersey next day. A day later my car is fixed. Today I go back because my check engine light is on. This is my first online review for a place ever!. And none is more deserving of the honor than the gentlemen of George And Sons. I had known about them for years because my boss had all of the work done on his Ford Expedition there and always without hesitation. I bought a Chysler Town and Country and when I had to get an inspection, oil change and brakes done I went there. They are friendly and kind and fast. Not less than a week later, I put a hole in the transmission pan going over a pothole and I went to them for the repair. Once again the were very nice and fast. But most of all, fair on the pricing. If you are a woman, looking to get good service without the hassle of haggling...go to them. If you are a man, go to them. I saw them working on hoopties to some fancy looking luxury car. When you have a truck 12 years old. You have to have to keep quality service folks close to make sure everything is kept up to date. Craig and the guys at George and Sons do exactly that. I had something wrong with the front end on my 2002 Yukon and I left my truck with them yesterday (Thursday) well this morning my truck was ready. The front end was fixed and handling well. I added 4 new tires at a great price and once again, I have to say the service was top notch. They even went as far as coming to pick me up from my house to show me the work on the truck and to save me money on a cab. People love the little things and these guys take care of the big and little things. Just had my 2011 jeep compass repaired by George and Sons. The vehicle was making metal-on-metal noises in the front end and the steering wheel was pulling to the right, Craig determined this to be failure of the lower ball joint/control arm on the driver's side. Craig purchased a new control arm from Westbury jeep for 150$ and his mechanics installed it the next day in about an hour and a half. The total price for the job was 200. They also rotated my tires for no charge. Very cheap price considering the part alone was 150$. After having my cars fixed by Craig for the last eight years, I would definitely recommend George and Sons to any of my friends or family. read more
