I was able to send the photos of the garage door.. Also found out it just needed to be realigned-.. and I figured to have it serviced. Received a call at 7:30 this morning to confirm the request over the weekend. Time frame was from 12-2... but after 2:30 I called to get a better time-.. I was flabbergasted at the rating for George & Sons Garage Door. As far as I am concerned, I agree with the 5-star rating. Problems with garage door openers are not predictable and always create what appears to be a crisis. Well, George & Sons is your answer. A randomly picked business turned out to be the answer to my problem. I called and they were here the next day to fix my problem. Quick reliable service. After the serviceman left, I noticed a loud banging noise whenever the garage door was closing. Another call and they show up the next business day. A quick fix to the garage door stiles and problem is totally solved. Best of all, the workers are well-mannered, well-trained and efficient. It is important for me to say: that there was no charge for repairing the stiles. Charges were more than fair for the excellent service provided. Over ten days ago I had this company appriaser coming to my residence to asses my damaged garage door. I was told that the appriasal report will be delivered by e-mail the next day. I have tried other garage repair places in town, but I have never been as impressed by the quality of service and care as I have with George & Sons. On a whim (and because little mice and a snake found their way into my garage this summer -- I needed to stop the food chain!), I noticed their commercial about replacing garage door seals on both my doors. When they came out, they didn't have the right seals because they were out of stock. They followed up within a week and a half, scheduled the appointment and came in time. As a customer typically would, I remembered that my darn keypad has not been working. They quickly replaced it. And it wasn't until I opened the smaller garage door, I realized that they tuned up the opener so it didn't make the godawful T-rex roaring noise. That was st no additional charge. Beware of Up charging. I called ahead for pricing for a new garage door opener install&rubber replacement. There 1st installer apparently cut rubber to short & would need to come back. made apt. for 2nd installer & was surprised when I was invoiced. the rubber installation for a 16' door was over $300.00. twice the expected price, apparently they want to bill me for there workers mistake when cutting. they said when I called & questioned the bill, the bottom metal had to be replaced, I would have to pay additional money. They responded and called me immediately. I told them we were flexible needing the repair. They came next day, within 12 hours, on a Saturday. I am PRETTY handy with home repairs, but when my 23 year old garage door spring broke on February 10, 2023, I thought I would call a professional to get an estimate. Based on Nextdoor and Yelp reviews, I called only one company, George and Sons. Peggy gave me a quote over the phone- she was so pleasant and knowledgeable, and the quote so reasonable, that I scheduled the repair. On appointment day, I received 3 phone updates on the technician arrival time, and Cheyne and his assistant were actually 20 minutes early. They promptly got to work, removing the broken spring, replacing it with TWO new springs for improved quality performance, balanced the door and lubed all pivot points. Cheyne was courteous and professional, explaining the whole process to me. He and his assistant were like a well oiled machine, and unbelievably (to me!), they were DONE in 14 minutes! I received a one year warranty and emailed receipt and they were on their way. This company exceeded all my expectations by a MILE, and I will not hesitate to call them in the future. It was my garage door that had given out. The door mechanism was 14 years old and a cheap version so I guess I was lucky it lasted so long. The response time through Yelp was quick. It became a little cumbersome when multiple businesses were contacting me to set up appointments. But the business used the app well to it's advantage.
