Extremely disappointing service - strongly advise avoiding Elite Garage Door. Our garage door was working with no issues opening or closing before Elite arrived for routine maintenance. However, immediately after the technician tightened the spring and chain, he ran a few up/down cycles and the motor suddenly stopped functioning (a classic case of over-tightening failure - which will immediately destroy a motor, regardless of age). When we pointed out the suspicious timing, the technician and owner dismissed it as simply due to the motor's age - insisting it had nothing to do with their work - and refused to troubleshoot or repair it further. They still collected their original fee. Worse, the technician offered no solutions and casually mentioned that "this happens to him a lot" - where the motor is operational and then suddenly fails while he is on-site. As a result, we're now stuck with a garage door that operated well before their visit but no longer works at all. A truly frustrating and unprofessional "Elite" experience. Avoid at all costs. read more

Here's Johnny! My father and I got great, honest and reasonable service from Johnny at Elite Garage Door Service. Essentially my elderly father was having issues with his garage door closing. I was concerned about having someone come out and talk him into a whole new garage door opener or even worse a new garage door. I made sure I was available when the tech/Johnny showed up and my Pa said problem fixed for a reasonable charge of less than $70! Apparently it was a single wire causing the problem. Received 3 replies and since I had use Elite's services on one of my Fallon homes, and since they were the least expensive quote, I gave them a ring. I was scheduled for next day services and the next day at the scheduled time within an hour, I had a new garage door opener with a remote and a cell phone remote as well. Great customer service. Knowing how heavily we rely on the garage getting in and out of the house multiple times of the day it was truly appreciated. If I could give Christian and the Elite crew 10 stars I would. From the first (and only) call to arrival was 2 hours. On a Friday. A hot Friday. The office person was able to tell me the estimate is free: Something the 3 other garage door companies refused to do. They like to say, that's up to the technition or I can't say that. Really. Ask. The total time to figure out the main problem, remedy it, adjust the opener settings, was maybe 30 mins. Charge was $75. Fixed it better than new. 10 STARS!!!! read more

We gave them a high rating for correcting the original problem; however, since there weather and it was darker, we didn't realize that the door wasn't closing to the ground correctly. I called back the following day and Monica said she would check with Christian to better understand his "notes". I never heard back from Monica and subsequently called elite back today, Saturday. She indicated that if the door was closing it must be the concrete was crooked! WHAT! The concrete has been there along with the garage door for over 17 years! It's obvious they got the $$ for the original problem but didn't want to correct a subsequent issue as a result before finishing the job. I'm sure if Christian would have just come by the day I called, the issue would have been quickly resolved. Now we wait until Monday for, hopefully, someone to come fix this issue. read more

I've used Elite Garage Door Service a couple of times now, with excellent results both times. When I bought my house, I knew the garage door needed a tune up - and more. It was making a horrible sound, and Elite saved the day! Replacing a bolt that was broken and adding a second spring to make it safer. I used a Groupon for the tuneup portion of that, and although it really confused the technician and person in the office, they honored it and I just had to pay for the repairs. Fast forward a year and the Groupon is still around and a good deal ($33 for $120 worth of tune up)(though the standard tune up is only $60, I think). They did remain confused by it but again, honored it. I also got my rollers replaced at their recommendation (and because I knew they likely were the crappiest possible and not maintained for years, based on what I now know about the previous ownders of my house). It was done quickly and the guy (whose name I should remember but don't, dang) was really nice. He also arrived on time, which is generally a great thing! He had a 1-3 pm window and arrived around 1:15 pm. I will say that he estimated $110 but it cost $150 and I would have loved a heads up, but I was in a work meeting online so he didn't really have the opportunity. Very glad I found Elite! My garage door springs snapped over the weekend, disabling my heavy 1983 garage door completely. I called up Elite on a Monday morning and they were able to get me in that very same day! A very friendly dude named Brad came out and quoted me a great price for 2 new springs, and filled me in about how tough of shape my wheels were in, in a non pressuring type of way. I decided to get the wheels and springs done while we were at it, and he happily completed the whole job in less than an hour! I also got a quote for a bottom rubber seal to keep bugs and weather out, and went ahead with that too, a couple days later, with no additional labor fees charged! My family (account not in my name) got a garage door installed by Elite with all the works a few months ago, and when they installed it they shattered a window panel on it, it had to be replaced which took them 4 voicemails to respond about when they are coming out to fix their mistake with no response until the last call, and about 2 months later they come fix it. Shortly after it being installed the left track starts to separate causing the door to stop closing because it keeps getting stuck on it. Thank god the repair guy came out the next day and fixed that. He was also the only friendly person we encountered. Never again. read more

When we needed a new garage door, we went to elite and they did a good job. Unfortunately shortly after, the door got hit by a car and bowed slightly. We had a elite come out and they quoted us over $1000 to replace the bottom panels. That is half the cost of a brand new door! We called someone else and got it repaired today for just over $200. Order my car garage door from Home Depot. Elite Garage Door company installed my car garage door on 1/11/2020, have a problem with the time frame they should have shown up. Called the company and talked to the owner Johnny Lewis. He asked me what day and time the receptionist call me. Then he can go back listen to the recording. Give to him everything I knew. After that no follow up with my concerns. On 2/22/2020, they came replaced damage section of the door. After the repair man left and I went to look again. Noticed small scratches on the door. On 2/26/2020, talked to the owner Johnny Lewis again. He asked me text the pictures to him. So I did and than no follow up after that. On 2/27/2020, text to his receptionist also. I've had numerous residential rental homes in Reno for many years, and Elite is my go to service provider for the several homes that have garage doors. Several months ago I had a broken old wooden door at a rental that needed, finally, replaced. I called Elite and they came out the next day (!!) and replaced it, cleanly and quickly at a good price. Amazing-- such good service. Then, just a few days ago a tenant called and said their relatively new metal garage door was acting up, not opening from the outside, etc. I told the tenant Elite would call them and they could make an appointment with Elite at a convenient time. Turns out they made an appointment to fix it on a Sunday morning, the only time the tenant was available!! I couldn't be there at all due to a recent surgery. Sunday??? Amazing!! Anyway, Elite DID go there last Sunday, fixed, adjusted, etc., and the tenant called me telling me it works now like new again. AND the charge was only $72.40! The key thing here is that Elite gets it done quickly and reasonably. With all my rentals, it's great that the problem gets solved quickly and with minimum fuss, not hanging over my head as another "problem" to solve for weeks and weeks. My dad and I have used Elite for all our repairs. The owner gets back to you right away and sets up a time for either himself or one of his workers. My first job was having them replace some busted out panels on my garage door that needed repairing for a long time. Very reasonable costs. I thought I was going to have to spend three grand to replace the whole door but instead of trying to up sell a new door, I paid 750 for new panels and the door is like new. Recently my spring broke on the door and I was given a callback literally an hour after I called.
