I called for an appointment to repair my garage door controls, was given a 10am to 12 pm window. Received an e-mail later in the morning informing me my appointment was being changed to 12PM to 2PM. I called and was assured the Technician would be at my home between those hours. At or near 1PM, I checked my e-mail and had a message saying the time was being changed to 3PM to 5 PM. I called and was assured the Technician would meet the new window of time. Came 4:30..PM..I called the Office and was told he was in Fernley and would be late; found out he was the ONLY Technician working. The person I was speaking with asked if I wanted to wait for the eventual arrival but no specified time and it would no doubt be right in the middle of Dinner. At this point I cancelled the appointment and come Monday I will get an appointment with a more honest and better managed Garage Door Repair Service. I know things happen BUT when you are being strung along it is infuriating especially when you know the other party on the end of the call could care less and have matter of factly been blowing smoke up my leg all day. This Company is headed for failure and if I were you I would steer clear of them; we have choices and I obviously made he wrong choice in choosing Local Garage Doors of Reno; they either have very poor management skills OR they are simply oblivious to what customer service means. read more

Fantastic service and a good value when compared to other price estimates in the area (I saw a review on another page for an $1,100 spring?! My garage needed two springs and they were $139 each with this company so that felt much better, and I didn't feel like I was sacrificing on quality of service). Live in Sparks , had a double wide garage door installed it lasted 14 months before it broke down. The top panel of the door was bent in the middle, I was the told I would have to replace that and a new Garage door opening motor at a cost of 1400 dollars. I said it should have been done correctly the first time. I was not happy and just opened the garage door manually , I looked at the door and looked at how it was connected. I drilled 4 holes at the top part of the door as it was only connected with 3 bolts as the attaching part required 4 bolts. I drilled 4 new holes and attached with bolts washer and screw on nuts for better support. I reattached the engine attachment and the garage worked fine. No new motor, old one working , but still might need some repair work in the future. read more

I do appreciate the professionalism and the quick response they gave me. I got the service at my Northwest Reno NV. home. I did get same day service. That being said. I looked into cost of material. A Lift Master Garage door with two remotes, a spring to replace broken spring double garage door. The service person was here for less than two hours. The materials at max should have been around $200 to $350. The total bill for service and materials was just under $1500.00. The emergency room doctor that saw me at Renown ER charged me about the same. So I guess I shouldn't complain. I do understand that the prices may change when coming out and seeing the job. This job was pretty straight forward. The service provider was here before and did great work in fixing the door before. He was here for the same time and I was charged half that amount. Four weeks ago my garage door and Truckee buckled and got stuck. I called these folks and they responded from Reno almost immediately. They didn't charge me but help me to get the garage door closed, but the whole thing was in shambles. Read the contract fine prints before signing. I placed an order for garage door replacement in July 2 ND week and after multiple attempts they have not installed the garage door till date. They promised install within 4-6 weeks and they did give me a call in August for installation, but canceled it a day before. They gave me multiple dates first in August and in October and November, but every time they canceled the install the day before. I asked them multiple times to give me a firm date or refund the deposit, they say that they will not do the refund and I need to wait for 16 to 32 weeks and while I am waiting they are not doing anything and sitting on my order with no install date. I have written them emails, spoken to their managers and have full chat history. I am going to wait until 32 weeks and then do not let them install the door even if they receive the door. Read for yourself the reply from the owner It is 6 months now and instead of refunding or gving a firm date, they will hold you to the 32 weeks contract. They gave 3 install dates and canceled day before the install date. Initially I was promised 4-6 weeks, but they have fine prints so do not repeat my mistake as they will hold you for 32 weeks. read more

Then the company charged me an extra $20 for paying by check instead of cash. I've never had that experience before. Usually a non cash surcharge only applies when paying by credit card. DO NOT hire this company. The garage door this company offers has major manufacturing issues. They know this and yet they continue to sell it. My new garage door does not close evenly across the panels. After LG technicians replaced each panel and came out six times to "adjust", they finally decided it was my problem and there was nothing they could do. Each time the installing technician came out, he said it was the manufacturer and there was nothing wrong with my foundation. Multiple photos were taken of parts, installation, and door and each time the company talked with the manufacturer new panels were sent out. Finally the "lead technician" came out and went through the motions of tightening bolts (they were already so tight I could hear the driver squealing ). I asked that the owner come out to look at the door I was told "He doesn't do that", I asked for a different manufactured door again "Unfortunately we can't do that." This was the poorest customer service I have dealt with in any company. They do not stand behind the products they sell and, they sell poor-quality products. read more

Exceptional service in responding to my original call. I have mice coming in under the weathstriping which was old. Scheduler told me I should use the "rodent stripping" which I said sure. The employee came out the next day. Changed the weather stripping and oiled old parts. So far so good. Then he tried to upsell me on a new motor which I understand. I said no thank you. Got a bill for $750 which seems high for 3 hours of work but I paid it. Next day I email to see if he put on the "rodent stripping". No reply. One week later I respond to "rate out service" survey and "give us great ratings" and I email again and was told I would get a response. Guess what? No response. I still don't know and assume the company has moved on to other un-educated consumers who have follow up questions. I can not recommend. read more
