I stopped in town on the courthouse square and we took a walk. We found Yancey's and asked if they allowed dogs, they have outdoor seating, we walked through the pub and went outside. How lucky to find a dog friendly place with great food, great atmosphere and friendly service! I had a burger, my daughter had a hot dog and our new doggie got to try their homemade dog treats. While eating with my large family, I had a piece of steak become lodged in my throat. It was a terrifying emergency, and the staff immediately sprang into action once they noticed what was happening. They called 911 while an off-duty EMT who happened to be there attempted the Heimlich maneuver to try to dislodge the steak. Although it could not be dislodged at the restaurant, their fast response ensured that emergency services were already on their way, and I was transported by ambulance for medical treatment. In the middle of all the chaos, they showed an incredible amount of kindness by putting our entire party's meal on the house. That thoughtful gesture meant so much to my family during such a stressful and emotional moment. It's easy to review a restaurant based on the food, but today I'm reviewing the people. The care, compassion, and humanity the Applebee's team showed us is something I'll never forget. Thank you to every employee who helped, to the off-duty EMT who stepped in to assist, and to everyone who made sure my family was cared for during such a traumatic experience. With Google's help, I discovered T's Country Market and Deli in Glasgow, KY. T's looks like it was once a gas station and general store that has been converted into a local eatery. I ordered a Bacon cheeseburger deluxe with onions, lettuce, American cheese, pickles, mustard, and ketchup. The veggies were fresh and thick cut on a soft bun out of a bag, with a proper amount of ketchup and mustard. The burger was thick, maybe 1/3 lb.; it was juicy in the middle but a little dry outside. The burger was a little plain and needed some seasoning but the cheese and bacon added a salty flavor. The bacon was chewy with a little crunch. I am a Chuck Wagon fan, so I had one of those too. It is served plain on a bun. The bun was fresh from a bag; the chuck wagon had a thin batter and was crunchy with some salt. It was probably frozen, but it cooked up nicely. Pro tip, I like mine with Cole slaw and ketchup. The coleslaw was cut up very fine and relatively sweet, but very soupy with a lot of liquid. Once added to the chuck wagon, it made for a great bite, with the ketchup cutting through the sweetness. My fiancé had the Grilled Cheese and Tater Tots. The tots are out of a bag but fried to a crunchy golden brown and seasoned well. The sandwich had American cheese and needed just a little longer on the flat top. It was slightly soft in places but they did use butter with excellent salt content. T's is a small roadside joint that offers burgers, sandwiches, plate lunches, and breakfast. The staff was super friendly, and the food came out quickly. The Fat Man says T's Country Market and Deli is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin.
