My daughter and I drove from Indiana to Tennessee to pick up our new doggie. On the way home, in Glasgow, KY, all three of needed a rest. I stopped in town on the courthouse square and we took a walk. We found Yancey's and asked if they allowed dogs, they have outdoor seating, we walked through the pub and went outside. My food and beer were both good. Treva night and we got there late. Service was good not the best. Girlfriend got a sandwich and it was cold. Prices were a bit high. We had been in town for a little while and thought hey why not try this place. The menu was a little small just burgers, fish tacos on Fridays, small plates like grilled cheese and hot dogs. No kids menu but we made do with what was offered. The inside was really cute and the staff was super nice. Service was fast only because we literally walked in as soon as they opened at 5pm but others after us said they had been waiting for a while. The drink menu was great with bourbon tastings and beer tastings was a great added bonus! We would go back maybe if we are in town. My husband had the Hansen burger, burger with chili and pub cheese, INCREDIBLE. He's nice and we share :) I had the French dip. Packed with thin sliced beef, cheese, onions and peppers, pretty good!! The only thing I did snap a picture of was their cocktail of the day "Naughty But Nice" because the sprinkles were festive and it made me happy! I would eat here often if I was a local. I went for lunch. There were not many customers as it was a late lunch. The burger and fries were excellent. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. My husband said the beer was pretty good. I got six raw chicken wings and a strawberry salad. The salad was adequate. The chicken wings, I didn't eat. Husband ordered burger and onion rings yet got burger and waffle fries. He said that's ok I'll eat. Total bill $56 and the server added on a 25 percent tip for herself and then said oops it's my first day, which we didn't believe. We left 20 percent, which was overly generous considering everything. When time came for the receipt, the server slipped out the back of the pub. We'll be watching the credit card closely. My wife and I just had a light dinner at this restaurant a few minutes ago and it was pretty darn good. You can see in the pictures and the menu what we had. We had the bruschetta and also had the Cobb salad. We also ordered two margaritas, on the rocks with salt on the rim. The bruschetta was really really done well and the Cobb salad, which my wife always orders chopped and tossed, was up to her standards also! ...The service was honest and friendly and welcoming by both our server and the hostess. The downside were the margaritas. But I do have to explain that we are from Southern California and we have been weaned on excellent margaritas and it's hard to find good margaritas in the South as well as the East and also the Midwest. The price point was pretty good for the quality and quantity of food that we received. My very first visit to Yancey's was right when they opened. Coming from the great beer state (MI), I was ECSTATIC to see a brewery open up locally. You just can't go wrong with a good, cold beer. When they opened, I was so impressed. Inside and out the atmosphere was just so tastefully done. It was so classy for a brewery. I came in for lunch and had the cuban sandwich with a beer. They had just started brewing, and the beer wasn't quite ready so I had something from Bowling Green's White Squirrel Brewery. The sandwich was excellent. The service was great. I was so ready to become a regular. I let some time pass between my next visit as I heard they needed some time to get a few kinks worked out. I stopped by for lunch here and there. Fish tacos were so flavorful. The entire sandwich menu was awesome. Things were looking good. As time went on, I noticed that Yancey's went from branding itself as a classy brewery to a family friendly pub to the kind of place you go to for trivia. The entire focus changed on a weekly basis. There was definitely an identity crisis of sorts. My most recent visit here was just over a month ago. The identity crisis has definitely taken a toll on this place. It was practically empty when went in. Anyway. We ordered some food - the cuban for me, the taco sampler for the boyfriend. The cuban wasn't quite the same as the previous ones I had here, but it was still pretty good. I did find a weird bone-like thing in the last few bites of my sandwich, but I'm trying to overlook it. The boyfriend enjoyed all of his tacos, except for the chicken one. It was very dry. As for the beer, I got a flight with one of each of the house-made beers. Honestly, I cannot recommend a single one of them. There was no distinguishable flavor, and every single one of them tasted like the tanks had not been properly cleaned out between brews. As it stands, this place should be embarrassed to call itself a brewery. The service has sharply declined since this place opened. A friend was meeting up with us after he got off work. When he walked in, the owner asked if he could help him. When said friend said that he was with us, the owner asked, "Do you know them?". WHAT??? I don't even have the words to explain how stupid/ shitty/ awkward/ inappropriate that was. Please, get your servers some aprons, and learn what good customer service is, because this is not it. I'm not writing this review to tear this place down; I truly hope the owner is reading these reviews to get better. I so desperately want this place to succeed. I am really impressed with this place! The restaurant area is really quite cool and enjoyed reading about the history of the place on my first visit. The beer selection is fairly good, and very tasty in my opinion. I have not had any food from here, but the food that I did see looked really good. My only drawback is the service was a bit slower than I would have liked, but that may have been a blessing in disguise to get me to slow down some and relax. I visited twice between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I look forward to trying it out in the summer. Cool location and vibe. I plan on being back! read more

Today is the second time we've come to Yancey's for brunch after church. Everything we've had has been outstanding! We were pleasantly surprised the first time & confirmed it's great today! Brunch menu is limited but enough. we've tried 3 options so far & have loved them all! The prices are great - especially for the build your own omelette- lots of ingredient options & you can have them all if you want. Waffles are SO good - almost seem like they have a caramelized crust and they're Served with fruit & pecans, as well as butter & syrup. Today we even had a chocolate covered strawberry! Biscuits & gravy were served in a cast iron skillet and topped with delicious sausage crumbles. Service is very good without being overbearing - just how I like it! We'll be back! read more

We've been wanting to try this place for a while, but our first attempt, they were closed. The restaurant has a ton of potential, but is missing the mark with many of the fine details. The decor was nice and took advantage of the old building's exposed brick. It looked clean, but our table top had a painted surface and was in pretty rough shape. The black linen napkins would have helped to communicate their intent to be a higher end dinning experience, but the fact that they were covered in white lint gave the impression that it wasn't clean. The menu is limited to a variety of burgers, paninis, tacos (pork, chicken, and fish) and a couple of hot dogs. I was thrilled to see that their burger was grass fed beef. My wife chose the pimento cheese burger and specifically asked about how they were typically prepared, informing the server that she wanted to ensure it was well done-no pink! Well, it came out looking half cooked. It was near raw in the middle. I tried the Headhunter burger but it was nothing to write home about. The staff was very friendly. Ventured into town after exploring for the day. It was a laid back Sunday so staff and menu seemed to be limited. We wrote down our orders and took them inside from the patio. I am a musician from Nashville, Tennessee, and my band recently played a show at Yancey's under the new ownership of Andrew and Jenny. A number of our friends and family came out to the show and all got drinks/food. We were treated very well, the hospitality was great, the food was great, and they had numerous drink specials throughout the night. They were very generous to us, and our fam/friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The back patio is a great summer evening spot, and the inside bar has an old school good-time atmosphere. Definitely one of the staple spots in Glasgow, highly recommend checking it out if you're in town. read more

Decided to try under new ownership. Great bar scene. We were seated and our drink order was taken. After bringing our drinks (different server) he took our order. After about 40 min, a different server again approached us and asked if we had ordered, we said yes and she went to check on our order, the original server had never put our order in. She apologized and asked for our order again and said it would be comped. But we had already waited too long and left and got fast food. Very disappointed as we have always enjoyed Yancey's. Probably the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. If I could give it zero to negative stars I would. I'm not sure if they were short staffed tonight or our waitress was just that horrible . We arrived at 5:45 it took 10 minutes to take our drink order,then ten minutes to get our drinks then another 10-15 minutes to take out food order. Once our waitress delivered our food orders she never checked on our drinks or asked us if we were okay.The other waitress' worked circles around our server. I had the Headhunter burger and to say it was bland would be a compliment,it had no taste and the meat was the size of a slider on a normal bun. Really cool space and great live entertainment, HOWEVER...the service was absolutely terrible. Our table was not acknowledged for nearly 30 mins. We ended up going to the bar to order and a waitress ended up coming from the bar to our table to provide service. She was in a complete hurry and basically took our orders and ran. She then brought back the wrong beer and later informed us the beer we ordered was out. Instead of offering us something different she just brought random beer to us. We then waited even longer to cash out and once again had to go to the bar to ask to pay to leave. Not to mention the entire time we were there we could see the waitress just standing behind the bar, chatting, playing with her hair.
