I had a hernia surgery on April 10 at Sutter Hospital. I have had sciatica for 12 weeks post op,…read moredue mostly to a nerve root block given by his anesthesiologist Joshua Melvin. I advised Dr. Rajwani pre op that I had previously suffered a failed back surgery, and wanted to make sure that the hernia surgery would not affect my back. Dr. Rajwani never mentioned he would order a nerve root block before the surgery. Dr. Melvin entered my room at Sutter Hospital just before the surgery began, and advised me that Dr. Rajwani ordered a nerve root block, and I had all ready been somewhat sedated before the surgery. At this point I had no option but to go ahead with the surgery, since I need to have my hernia surgery completed. Dr. Melvin performed the nerve root block with an injection in my back, thus causing in my opinion sciatica for the past 12 weeks. Dr. Rajwani would state 3 weeks after the surgery that Dr Melvin was supposed to advise me that the nerve root block was only optional before the surgery. Dr. Rajwani did not even know that Dr .Melvin performed the nerve root block in my back, and not in my front side. Dr. Rajwani needs to advise patients about nerve root blocks in his meeting with patients BEFORE THE SURGERY. Dr. Rajwani also probably needs to get rid of DR. Melvin, because there is a real disconnect between the two of them, and only the patient suffers. I wish I would have gone to the Mayo Clinic or Cleveland Clinic for this procedure. Dr. Rajwani may be a good surgeon, but he needs to have a better team. The hernia surgery MAY have been a success, but who knows with the sciatica going on now. Larry Carli

Within this plaza are doctors of many specialties and a Surgery center for multiple specialties. There is a Mercy pharmacy, a Quest Lab, cardiologists, urologists, spine surgeons, vascular surgeons and many more. The outpatient surgery center is located on the lower level and provides surgery space for affiliated surgeons to do their procedures. The nurses and techs there are nice and provide good care for the patients having surgery there. Good facility if you have a choice or if your medical group or doctor sends you here
