Dave!! Dave is such a homie. I came to the Temecula DMV for a behind the wheel driving test appointment and my mom's break lights were out so I couldn't proceed with the exam. Frantically, we rushed across the street to see if someone could help. Dave inspected our lights and found that it was only a connection issue. Since he said he didn't really do much, he decided not to charge us anything. I thank God for people like Dave. His kind gesture made my day. I also passed, just in case you were wondering. I took my car over to Rancho smog today after it didn't pass at a local smog test only facility. David was gracious enough to put the car up on the rack and remove the shield only to find that he couldn't read the numbers off the catalytic converter. David did all this work and didn't charge me a dime and let me know what my options were. I'll be bringing my car back to David for sure because I know how honest and reliable he is. I can't believe I'm the first to review this place. I've been coming here for years. Every time I come here Dave is working behind the counter. I've never had a bad experience here. I called a different smog shop today (5 stars)and they quoted me $60 for a smog cert. But said they would give me a $10 discount. Dave quoted me $50 without a discount. So for the sake of time I came here (its right across the street from the DMV) . He passed me in no time flat and sent me on my way. Every experience I've had here has been perfect. My dad usually handles everything with my car for me (smog, oil change, etc...) but, it was time for me to put my big girl pants on and start doing things myself. Keep in mind, I know absolutely nothing about cars. I randomly happened to come across the Rancho Smog because it was close to the DMV and I needed to get all my registration stuff done. The owners were so nice to me, answered all my questions & didn't make me feel dumb about any of it. It felt super comforting. The smog itself seemed to go by pretty fast to me, and I passed-yay! Went here once before and had an ok experience, heard the shop was owned by Christians, I love supporting Christian owned businesses when I can. So I just called today to ask if they had any availability and was told it was "First come first serve". Fair enough, so I asked if they had customers there right now and if so, how long the wait would be. He responded "yes and I don't know" He was being really short with me, the guy does this all day long, certainly he should be able to guess. So I politely tried again, "Do you have an estimate, a guess, of how long it might be?" My wife just got out of the hospital after a c-section, so leaving her home for a long time with two kids isn't exactly an option for me right now. His response, "I don't know..." He seemed angry that I called. What's the deal guys? I'll take my business to a place that wants it. read more

Trying not to write review in anger...so here goes. We have been happy with this shop's services in the past. That is why we returned when our older vehicle needed a smog check. It failed and needed a replacement part. He did not offer to order the part but told us 3 different places we could get it ourselves, including a junk yard. When we ordered what he highlighted on the diagram (from the dealer), it wasn't everything he needed so we are back at square one. Nice people, he said he was doing everything he could to help us, but...we still don't have the part. read more

I just had THE most insulting experience here!! We are greeted by a very nice man/employee who directs us inside to the office while he finishes up with a customer. I walk into the office and my husband is not far behind. I smile at the man inside and say hello and then proceed to wait for the original employee we were greeted by. The man behind the counter says to me, "Why so serious?" I reply that I'm not feeling serious and he says, "You're deep in thought." Okay, that's an odd thing to say to someone, but I'll just smile and wait for the other person to assist us. The man behind the counter then asks me if the check engine light is on in our car. I tell him it is not and that I'm just here for the smog check. At this point, my husband walks into the office. The man behind the counter then asks me, "Is this your husband?" I respond with "Yes." He then turns to my husband and asks, "Is your check engine light on?" I then say to him, "I just told you that my check engine light is not on." The man behind the counter then tells me that I "didn't look too sure." We left and on our way out, I told the first employee that we were leaving due to the other person's sexism. He responded by mouthing "I'm sorry!" to us. Needless to say, we took our business elsewhere. Rancho Smog, perhaps you would benefit from not having sexist employees working for you!! Simply outrageous. Ladies and gentlemen, there are a plethora of smog check businesses near the Temecula DMV - frequent any of them but this one. read more

Needed to get my 2005 Corvette smoged but had changed the battery in my car a couple of months earlier. After changing the battery my code reader was showing up with "no dtc or stored data in the computer". The staff here said bring it down and we'll take a look. Looks like that reading was normal. They smoged it and everything passed. This is the 3rd car i have brought here and have always had great service. Excellent service. I highly recommend Rancho Smog! read more

Called this guy up to get a quote on my 94' Honda. He quoted me $60! When I expressed shock at how expensive that was, he rudely hung up on me. I then called back to see if he would at least honor an online coupon I had for his shop, he flatly said it would still be $60. So, I hung up on him, called a few other shops, and was able to get the smog test done at Jefferson Smog Test Only for only $45 (between $40-$50 seems to be the average for most shops, for cars made before 95'), and was in there and out the door in about 10 minutes. Also, no one was rude to me. Question is, why was this guy trying to ream me for an extra $15? Turns out he's right across the street from the DMV, so I figure he's charging a "convenience" tax to his customers, for being so close. Point is, he's not only a rude a**hole, but he refuses to honor his own coupons, and he's overpriced. I HIGHLY recommend you go somewhere else! read more
