Had the shish kabob lunch. The meat was cooked perfectly and tender. Not as much flavor as previous owners. The rice pilaf was almost flavorless. The clam chowder had tiny little pieces of clams in it. Had to hunt and search for them. The overall meal seamed to be too greasy. Dining partner had the steak salad and lit had tiny little pieces of steak on it. Nothing like what the previous owners served. Came here in a group of six on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch, and we were all satisfied. We were seated right away and drink orders were taken. Might I say, the iced tea was so crisp, fresh, and quenched our thirsts! Enjoyed at our table was beef kebab, shish kebab, pilaf, salad, mousakka, Mezza (appetizer) varieties, roasted vegetables, and of course fresh bread. For the whole table we were given fresh, soft, bread with butter, and with my Mezza (appetizer) plate, I was given cut up pita bread. It was super sweet, I wanted a sampler of some different items, it wasn't on the menu, but he said he could do it for me. I also enjoyed a salad with very delicious vinaigrette. The baba ganoush, hummus, and tabouli were all great, and the star of the show was the yalanchi (grape leaves). For the guest who enjoyed the mousakka, you literally couldn't even tell the plate was used...every last drop of anything was swiped clean with the soft bread, and gobbled up. For lunchtime, there were paper napkins, and as we headed out, they were switching over to cloth napkins for dinner. Service was impeccable, and everything came out correct, fresh, and in a timely manner. Refills on beverages were offered without asking, and overall we were all just so content. I had such a great experience here on my special day. The waitress was very nice and recommended the Chicken Jerusalem and it was AMAZING. I have never had chicken that was so flavorful before with a bright citrus flavor absolutely phenomenal. I love trying new places so when my hubby took me here for a lunch date I was so ready! Mediterranean food is my favorite. I was hoping to find a fattoush salad on the menu or something of that sort... I didn't but I am also a huge cheesesteak fan so that's what I went with. It was DELISH! Too bad it didn't have bell peppers and onions but it was so tender and punched me with amazing flavor! My hubby had a beef kebab with rice pilaf... I had to borrow his plate haha. Stopped in for lunch today because of the positive Yelp reviews. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Ordered the chicken kebab sandwich. It came out looking great with a huge side of pilaf. The pilaf was actually excellent, and I ate it all. Every bite of the chicken sandwich was a struggle, however. It was obvious to me that the chicken was frozen before cooking. It was hard and chewy with no taste at all. I was in a hurry, so didn't have time to ask to remake me something else. I mentioned it to the waitress before closing out, but there was no further conversation or accommodation on my bill. She knew I was right but said nothing. I left most of the chicken on the plate but nothing was said. You should avoid the chicken at all costs. Maybe avoid George's altogether? If the chicken was frozen, and they didn't seem to care, what else is going on here? No thank you. read more

They serve you heaps of food; it's impossible for anyone to go hungry. We ordered the Lulu kebab plates, eggplant Marsala, steak kebab sandwich and a gyro wrap. Wow! The meat is so tender and tasty. Our plates were cleaned! They served bread as an appetizer. The bread is a delicate spongy texture that is so good, you actually don't need butter and I usually never bypass butter! Well I hate to even leave this review but I have to be honest about my experience. So my daughter and I decided to have lunch here on a Friday. I walked with her I stood at the door for a moment no one greeted us so we seated ourselves. We sat down for well over ten minutes before someone decided to ask if we wanted menus and something to drink. There was only fives tables with customers sitting there eating. Yikes!! After that we wait another 25 minutes before the young lady came to see if we wanted to order. I told her I just wanted to pay for my tea and go. It's ridiculous to be treated that way in an almost empty restaurant. I've been there before this was the worst service I've gotten there. Very disappointing. If you are a garlic fan or even just a good food fan then you must try this place! Their rice pilaf is delicious and super flavorful/garlic loaded. I tried their chicken lulu special and was VERY impressed with the quality of the protein and the portion size. I have enough for breakfast today! The rest of the table was very happy with their items. Also ordered was the filet kabob, chicken kabob, and steak kabob. The cabbage soup was delicious and hearty, great to eat on its own as well as dip your buttered bread in to. The service was friendly, fast and attentive. Atmosphere was low lighting and nice. Stopped by here for some take-out. This was a family favorite when I lived here years ago. I knew what I wanted the minute I walked in the door... lamb shish kabob sandwich. I'm sure there are pictures on here for you to see what it is and I will be uploading another just to be sure. You will see the pieces of tender marinated lamb grilled and then placed in an oversized bun with cilantro and onions. No sauces needed as the juices coming off the meat adds all the flavor that this sandwich needs. For me it's not even a sandwich. I eat the insides with a fork and forget the bread. Coupled with a generous portion of rice pilaf there's no room in my oversized stomach to fit the bread. I have lived in different places and traveled far but I have not come across meal served this way. To be fair I have not looked too hard but.... You've been around for a long time and today I decided to give you a try,,,, ambience: average, not great, not inviting, warm or cool. salad had far too much salad dressing on it and very basic iceberg lettuce, not great or amazing PLUS the side bread was cold. Entrée was served. Chicken was delicious and moist vegetables cooked perfection rice had no flavor. Had to ask for garlic sauce. Garlic sauce is the worst I've had ever Taste like a ranch garlic sauce not with this type of meal overall rating experience five out of 10 it wasn't terrible just very bland ,no urge to return, poor service. Nestled in the same plaza as my dentist and family owned George's Bar and Grill was one of the best experiences I've had at a Mediterranean restaurant. Came for a late lunch around 4:30, they do have a lunch and dinner menu. Since it was lunch when you order a plate you'll get a choice of soup or salad, both my girlfriend and I ordered the lamb shish kebab medium rare, and of course soup. They would usually have 2 choices of soup, the one that we picked was the lemon, chicken, rice soup and oh my goodness it was so delicious it was gone the moment it got onto the table! They bring out complimentary bread and butter, the bread was soft and warm definitely enjoyed it. Once the food came out every bit of it was delicious, the lamb was so tender and filling, though it seemed like a small amount, it was proportionate with a balance of rice veggies and meat. Can't forget about the garlic sauce! They are not greedy with it, had plenty to go around for your dipping pleasure. The biggest thing here was their service, the server was very polite and attentive, the people that came in here while we were dining in seemed to have known all of the staff, everyone was super friendly. It was our 20th anniversary on a Monday night, and we chose to celebrate at George's Armenian cuisine on Blackstone. I noticed few cars in the lot and a sign on the door announcing Sunday closures. I felt sad and worried, but stepped in. The good smells of garlic, onion and grilled meats met us at the door. Our waitress, Pamela, was prompt and friendly, suggesting the best red wine to accompany our grilled chicken and lamb kebabs. A crisp and home-dressed salad, good basque bread, garlicky grilled veggies, buttery pilaf and bulgur accompanied our meal. Pamela steered us to the owner's homemade baklava for dessert. The dinner was scrumptious and the service attentive. I don't know why this restaurant has escaped the notice of other Yelpers and their suggestions for fine dining. I dine here a couple of times a month. It's always top notch. The lamb shish kebab is a favorite of mine but I have the Calamari steak for a change of pace and it's great too.
