My wife and I are visiting Fresno for a few days. I have learned that Fresno has a decent population of Armenians so I wanted to try some good Khachapuri, which is a popular Georgian dish also enjoyed by Armenian. When I walked into this market, I noticed that the place is very clean, organized, and well maintained. I ordered the Sochi style cheese bread (Khachapuri) and was told to wait approx. 20 min. The staff were very friendly and courteous when taking my order. I then dine at one of the 2 tables outside. The Khachapuri had a delicious, chewy, cheesy center. It was not too oily but I did wish the crust to be a bit thinner so it could be a little softer. Overall, it tasted much better than the one I had in DD Karabakh Farmers Market a few miles away and also better than the one I had in Pasadena. read more

I been passing by this place a couple times when I would visit next door and I finally gave it a try. They have their menu outside so you can even see the prices beforehand. Inside is a little market and they even have some produce. They carry alot of home made stuff in the fridges like hummus, garlic sauce, cabbage rolls just to name a few. I grabbed the spicy hummus with their pita chips. It was alright, not spicy to me. And I also got their chicken and beef plate. It came with rice pilaf, a salad, garlic sauce and pita bread. It was quite a wait but ik that's cus they was making it fresh. She did come out n apologized for the wait and lmk how much longer.. I finally got my food and tried it at home. The rice alone was good. Not dry or overcooked. The meat pieces were pretty big! Nice and tender. The garlic sauce complimented the meats well with the pita bread. Amazing lunch options, unique and delicious market treats, and probably some of the tastiest European desserts Ive found in a bodega. My wife and I were looking for Mediterranean food and Arrat Market popped up. While I don't think this place is a true Mediterranean restaurant they do offer delicious Mediterranean focused plates. We ordered two Chicken kebab plates with a side dzadziki (yogurt sauce) and extra pita. The food was amazing. The chicken was super juicy and full of flavor and the rice was a perfect mix of al dente yet not try. Dzadziki, which I've never seen it spelled like that, was super fresh and the crispy cucumber added a nice crunch. Definitely a revisit dinner spot and they take phone orders! While we waited for our food we shopped around. This place is small, but they have so much good stuff here. Tons of international spices, candies, and jarred items. We left with some spices, a bag of cinnamon cookies, and lots of sweets for the kiddos. Can't wait to head back here and sample more of their menu and get a few more sweet treats! read more

A gem in Clovis where I am so tired of fast food, nonhealthy/nonvegetarian and fried options....although I do eat meat and find their prepared meats delicious it is wonderful to find a place that knows how to make delicious salads. Extremely poor customer service by woman at front register. 2pm on 5/2/2025 My husband and I came in to see what the market had to offer the community because we had been drawn in by the amazing marketing on the windows while in the area. Once we entered, Staff did not acknowledge us at all like most small businesses. When I asked her a question she stared at me until I was finished speaking. Instead of answering the question, she began to speak with a customer. The customer did not respond to the staff initially, which led to her answering my question. I would like to clarify that the customer was not an employee and attempted to respond to my inquiry. I'm unsure if there was a communication barrier but this is America, respectfully, and we primarily speak English. This place is good, but if you grew up eating your mom's kabobs and rice not sure it is going to blow your mind in terms of flavor or taste. I liked it but I wouldn't detour for this market. We ordered several kabobs and like many reviewers mentioned the portion size to price ratio was on point but none of the kabobs had a wow factor. Salad was also pretty simple and pita tasted premade and not fresh. That being said I like supporting family businesses and the service was friendly. They also have some interesting ingredients from all around the world like Ajidka which is a central Asian spice. Very small, jam packed market and restaurant with so many goodies and Mediterranean treats that it's hard to decide! Prices are very reasonable and portions are large. A place to buy good Mediterranean cuisine to be made at home or they have prepared food also. I can't believe after being in Clovis for over 2 decades, I finally made it a point to come here. They have seasoned meats of all sorts. Beef, chicken, lamb they have it ready to be cooked at home. They have many frozen items that you can ever want. Some of these items you can get at the local Mediterranean restaurant but you can buy the frozen version here and make it at home. On my first visit I had the marinaded beef and marinaded chicken. I bbq'ed this at home and they were one of the tasty meat around. If you are familiar with Mediterranean cuisine, I would recommend this place, it seems like they have all your needs possible. read more

My family and I needed large portions for a funeral but we wanted delicious filling food. I called Ararat Market two days before the funeral and they were able to fulfill an cratering order of 50 people. The lady who helped me over the phone was so sweet! She helped me narrow it down of chicken (forgot to take pictures) but it came in two big trays , rice pilaf , pita and dipping sauce. I needed it by 8:45am but they said the earliest they can do it is 9:30am and was able to negotiate 9:15am as the funeral was at 10am . I showed up with my sister they had everything done by 9am! Very impressed. I came in and they put everything in the car! I wish I could have tipped them but there was no tipped option when I called it in and paid two days before the day of pick up. Anywho, the chicken was so flavorful and the rice was mouthwatering delicious! It was a hit at the funeral and there was nothing left so that speaks volumes! We are overjoyed with the service from start to finish and would definitely order catering from them again. I wish they delivered as we were 30 min late to the funeral. Other than that I cannot thank Ararat Market for coming through for my family on one the hardest days! Definitely recommend for lunch, dinner and events! read more

First off, the people who work here are so nice! They kindly took my order and had it ready when they said they would. They were so polite and a delight to speak to. We ordered the family tray with a skewer of lamb, a skewer of chicken, a skewer of beef, and a skewer of pork. You get 6 pieces of each. The food was so amazing!!!!!! Large amount and a VERY good price for the quality AND quantity of food you're getting. Delicious, tender, and flavorful meats on top of fluffy, warm rice pilaf. They even provided the pita bread and garlic sauce. Their garlic sauce is incredible! 10 out of 10, will definitely order the family combo tray again. Can't beat the taste and price. Was craving Mediterranean/Israeli food and this hit the spot. The prepared food is made to order in a small grocery store which was such a gem. Got the falafel wrap and the lamb shish plate. Full of falafel in every bite. But the lamb.... One of the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, succulent and juicy! Accompanied rice pilaf was also full of flavors. Freshly picked and organically grown produce straight from local farms. Staple dishes, meats, legumes, grains, nuts, canned meats, fish and vegetables, spices, herbs, breads, crackers, cookies, jams and jellies, teas, pickles, and a good variety of other snacks and sweets all imported from Mediterranean and Eastern European countries. Deli section includes a good selection of both raw and cured meats, cheeses and olives. On top of the glass counter, there are a number of European chocolates and candies, as well as homemade pastries. Across the aisle are pre-made dishes including yalanchi, dolma, tabooleh salad, hummus, as well as a variety of yogurts, creams and butter. Additionally, the meat section includes fresh fish and already seasoned meats. Halal meats are also available. Their delicious made-to-order meals are prepared right from the back kitchen. The tasty assortment of meat dishes are what brings me back here. The owners are Christians, so pork is also on the menu, along with beef, lamb, chicken and even sturgeon (seasonal). In fact, the pork chops and pork ribs are my personal favorites. The meat is well-seasoned and so tender and juicy. There is not a bad choice at Ararat Market, whether you get the kabobs or the ribs. The ONLY reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the garlic sauce was very bland and the cashier gal was not rude but wasn't social at all. Seemed shy, very quiet, didn't suggest anything. My husband took it as rude but I didn't. The 6 chicken chunks were huge, so tender, juicy, flavorful. The salad could have used more fatoush and lettuce. The rice was perfect. We've been ordering family trays here for a quick Friday night dinner and have always loved the food. This month we were hosting a huge party with over 60 guests and I was at a loss for food options until a friend reminded me of Ararat's catering trays.
