Honestly, the most unusual and annoying people who r just impossible to please, they managed to to please and now they can't stop talking about the food and the service provided. After much research, we decided to go here for dinner since I had family in town! Everyone is very hungry, we have somewhere to be in an hour...pull up at 515 pm, and the "closed" sign is up! according to their posted hours, they should be open until 8pm. Realized after reading some negative yelp reviews, which I typically avoid if the overall score is above 4, that this is not atypical for this restuarant to be closed for private parties or catering...bummer! read more

I've been craving Mediterranean food for a while but only knew of the broilers and I definitely didn't want to drive down to the nearest one wherever it may be. Great food! Got the chicken kabab special with bulgar and it was delicious! It even came with 1 piece of dolma & a few sides. The service was the best I've seen in quite some time. They were very welcoming. The only thing I didn't care for is the garlic sauce. It was a bit bitter & thinner than I'm used to. Normally, I would be really bummed because I LOVE garlic sauce, but the food was so good that I didn't even need it. Highly recommend trying! Will be going back! read more

Where to start? 1) Food: 5 stars. For $8.99, you get an appetizer trey with hummus, pita, two types of salad, and grape leaves. This alone would cost $9 in some places. THEN you get an entree with either beef or chicken kabob with rice. All for $9. The food quality was superb. We got the beef and chicken. Both were melt off the bone status. 2) Service: The owner served us and was very respectful / attentive. He even offered us complimentary wine, beer, and ice cream! We will be back for sure. My husband and I discovered this gem through DealSaver. We were the only ones in the restaurant for our late lunch. Upon being seated we learned that there were no menus yet, as this is a fairly new restaurant. The owner said that we could get a chicken or beef kebab plate with our coupon. In my opinion, that was a great choice. It just felt odd to not have a menu to look at, and that's why I only gave 4 instead of 5 stars. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The Hummus was really good, then followed by our entrees. Both chicken and beef were tender and juicy, and very flavorful. Pilaf was delicious as well. There was more than enough food, and we ended up with a to-go box. I'm looking forward to my lunch tomorrow! We plan to go back and enjoy the special that is posted on the door. I like supporting local small businesses, and they are making it easy for me to do that! I hope you will stop in and help this lovely husband and wife team get their business going. This place is amazing. The food is always made with love and tastes like home cooking. Services is always friendly and the environment is warm and sweet. I've been here for a quick meal during the day and the portions are amazing for the price, with all the yummy sides you could ever want! This place was highly recommended to us and we drove an hour to go. When we got there they were closed due to a special event. But they opened the doors, set a table for us and seated us. They welcomed us with open arms and I couldn't help but feel the love. Its owned by a husband and wife and they are so kind! The husband is the cook and omg the food was amazing! The small place was very busy and since there were only 2 employees, (owner and wife) we had to wait a couple extra minutes ,but not bad- The owner offered us FREE Beer & Wine. The appetizer was something I'd never had before but the owner gladly explained what it was and the Bulgar, Yogurt & Cucumber salad and Humus were all good and filling. We got a Chicken and Beef dinner and the meat was very delicious, they came with a pilaf rice and tomato.Be careful if you eat the roasted Jalapeños, they were good, but extremely firetruck. This was our first time here. We got take out & it was good. We both had the lamb kebab which was tasty. They let us order 1/2 bulghar and 1/2 pilaf which I really like. Their special dinner comes with cheese borreg which was also tasty. My husband ordered a kufta to try & it was good. I ordered a chicken borreg to try but I didn't care for it (I think because it mostly tasted like bell pepper which I don't like.) We had hummus & pita. The hummus was just average for me. Overall, the food was good. It felt a little pricey for the portion size although it was filling enough in the end. The couple who cooked & served us were friendly. While I am not Armenian, my love of shish kabob started with Hagopians in Visalia many years ago...so I'm not sure why I've never heard of this place. When we asked how long they've been open we were surprised at the response of 16 years. Anyway, our first impression is that their food is authentic and that their customer base reflects that. We loved the homemade humus, chicken & shish kebob and the bulgur pilaf (this is an optional healthier version of pilaf and may not be for everyone, but we thought it was great). The food was presented simply and had a home cooked feel (salad looked like it was torn by hand vs pre-packaged stuff). The decor & service is a little stark (we were waited on by the owner and I think she was just tired)...a little background music & some plants would warm things up. But ultimately it's about the food and we will return - this is the kind of small, local restaurant that we need to keep around. read more

Under new ownership for the past few months and it's even better than before. The menu is small but what a bargain! We had lula kebab (juicy and tasty) with some of the best pilaf I've had in a restaurant setting. The appetizer plate is very generous and varies but today was tabouli (excellent), a spinach dip (very good), hummus (excellent) and potato salad (good too). Included was a soft drink and all for under $9 a person. The owners are so friendly and helpful. We will be back here often. Next time we will try the lamb chops. This is Armenian food at its finest. The food at Yerevan was excellent. I had the vegetarian dish which comes with humus, a salad, eggplant, tabbouleh, and rice pilaf - all of these items were tasty, though salad was pretty standard and uninspired (your basic romaine lettuce with tomato). The service was unfortunately brusque and in fact the man (who was also the chef) reminded me of the soup nazi on Seinfeld. He told me I could not have the fish because I had a coupon, saying simply "No, no fish for you." My dining companion asked if she could have a specific type of salad on the side instead of the standard salad which came with the meal. His reply: "No" and then there was just silence. We waited several minutes after being seated for water. Eventually a lovely woman came in and replaced the chef as the server. The service from her was a far improvement over the man, though overall the service still felt awkward. I asked her to describe an Armenian cake which she offered and she pauses and says, "It's good stuff" the end, nothing else. In addition to the issues with the service, I was upset by the shape and size of the tables (you'll see what I am talking about if you dine here) and the cheap feeling oval shaped plastic plates which our entrees were served on. Through several changes, Yerevan could drastically improve the quality and dining experience here. Overall, I do recommend that you try Yerevan despite some of these annoyances and issues because the food was really quite enjoyable. read more
