Adjarski or Ajarakan egg boat sandwich. The crust is stuffed with cheese.
    Sophie A.

The most authentic Armenian bread bakery Fresno. This is where you go to get authentic manaiesh bread made with za'atar seasoning which is vegan; traditional cheese or spicy cheese byoreg made with Aleppo pepper; spinach filled byoreg, also vegan; the zestiest lahmajune (Armenian Pizza) and Adjarski or ajarakan egg boats. Don't let the simple menu fool you. Look up how to serve and eat each of these items online. TheseThese are Armenian breakfast and brunch staples, that you get hot and fresh and wash it down with tahn (buttermilk) also available in jugs. Some menu items are customizable. Be sure to ask. Everything is made to order so if you don't want to wait, call ahead. It is family owned and they are related to Hollywood's famous Sassoon Bakery and Taron bakery which serve up the best lahmajune in LA. They share the family recipe and this is the closest thing you'll get to the traditional flavor we craved from LA! So grateful to find authentic, traditional Armenian baked goods here in Fresno. Looking forward to seeing what other menu items they will expand upon in the future.

We love our lahmujune ( Armenian pizza) and my brother in law found this place and said it was his favorite. From the thin, crispy crust to the spices and meat. We walked in and wanted to order a bunch of different borek, maniesh, and lahmujune. Varujan offered us a tasting of the spinach borek, cheese borek and lahmujune. It was the best we have ever had, brother in law was right! We ordered a ton to go for us and mother in law. We don't live in town anymore but this will be a regular stop whenever we visit.

Pros: Neat and clean. Good service. Decent price for food and portion size. Food was alright. Cons: Small dining area. Wish there was more filling in the pastries.

Yummmmm! I've never had Armenian pastries before and don't have anything really to compare it to but this has to be one of the best things I've had to date. Everything was fresh. I think my favorite was the lahmajune. So light thin and crispy. It's not a sweet pastry, it's savory but I can down probably 5 of these in one sitting. And it's so cheap! The staff were all so sweet and friendly. Very helpful because like I've mentioned I've never had these type of pastries. They explained everything to me. And on top of that he gave me some free ones to sample! All so good. I didn't even know there was a bakery here. It's definitely a hidden gem . And just opened not that long ago. This is a must try. I will definitely be coming here again!

I found this bakery by the reviews and it reminds me of my Mom's Lebanese cooking ! The Lahmajoun is delicious and light very tasty! I will be back for sure and the owner is very nice.

    Napoleon cake :p

Quality ingredients one can taste! The lahmajune was super fresh and tasty! The bread portion was thin and crispy. The amount and quality of meat was amazing! The spices were perfect and it was juicy. Kids loved it too! (One of the kids is super picky, but she loved it and asked for more). The cheesbureg and spinach bites were very yummie too! What I really want to highlight is the NAPOLEON cake, oh my gosh, it was extraordinary: light and flaky, super fresh and real butter (which is rare nowadays)! I could not find a Napoleon that is not imported from LA lately (yes some grocery stores have them, but those are more custard than anything else). This Napoleon beats any Napoleon imported from LA! I will be back for sure!!!

Came to Araz Bakery for the first time and absolutely loved it! It was a new opportunity to try authentic Armenian/Middle Eastern food that's hard to find. Old recipes passed down for generations. I recommend the Ajarakan and Borek. The dough is baked fresh to order so if you're in a rush I recommend calling in ahead

One of my favorite bakeries. Very simple menu, & my favorite is their lahmajun & cheese borek. All at an affordable price.

We updated our reservation to 20 guests the day of (6 were children ages 1 to 13). Although we were seated by 12:30 p.m., They took our order at around 12:45pm. We were disappointed to hear that they were out of lamb. The drinks didn't arrive until 1:30, appetizers around 2pm and our meals not until about 3/3:15pm. The restaurant was warm, guests were thirsty, and no one checked on us or offered refills. When my husband asked about the delay, we were told it was our fault for having more guests, despite updating them ahead of time. No apology was given. At the end, there was no effort to make things right. The tables weren't cleared of dirty dishes. We were even denied plates for a birthday cake because they "didn't want to wash dishes," forcing us to buy our own. What should have been a special celebration turned into a very frustrating experience. We won't be returning.

And so, the rice was so delicious, lamb so succulent that it almost melted in my mouth. The server was so kind and sweet, even with a jam packed midday lunch crowd. Everyone there seemed like they were being treated like family and like they eat there all the time. Aside from the above, which would easily be enough for a positive review here, there's even more. As I rushed out of the restaurant, I left my credit card. In my haste to be the 3-hour traffic back up to the Bay Area, I completely forgot until I got halfway back home, stopped for gas, and realized I couldn't pay for my gas with my card. I called them and luckily the same gal who was my server picked up and remembered me, confirmed she had my CC and told me to come back and get it. I told her I was back up in Oakland and asked a HUUUUUUGE Favor of them, to mail my CC back to me to save me the 6 hour round trip drive and ALL the headache I'd incur of getting a new card and having to redo all of the auto-pay set for countless bills with a new card number.
