    Falafel Salad

Don't sleep on this one. May seem like a hole in the wall but this place is family owned and operated and delivers upon all aspects of customer service and quality food is out of this world, fresh, clean, and dare I say it...best garlic sauce in town. Give them some love

    Chicken shawarma bowl

Ordered the chicken shawarma bowl, hummus with pita, and extra garlic sauce. The rice was tender and fluffy, the chicken hot and perfectly grilled, and the garlic sauce is to die for! The service was quick and efficient and my food was ready within 10 minutes of ordering it. I ordered on DoorDash and my order arrived fresh, hot, and delicious!

    The dudes Beef Shawerma Plate!

The dude and I have been chowing down TO GO at Falafel Express since mid April 2020 as I have been on a Hummus kick for the past two weeks. Plus Mediterranean food is pretty healthy in my opinion and when done correctly so delicious! Anywho since my favorite Mediterranean place HOP PK went out of business sadly I have been looking for a replacement nearby in Fresno/Clovis and the dude recommended this place. Which I am glad that he did as this place is so delicious!! I tried the chicken Shawarma plate and the dude tried the beef shawarma plate which comes with rice pilaf, garlic sauce which we swapped out for hummus and a side salad. The portions are huge! The chicken was very flavorful and seasoned to perfection. I am not a fan of rice pilaf at all but their rice was pretty good! The side salad was probably my favorite as it was so delicious! Seasoned to perfection and I love that it had a tart taste to it that made it addictive to eat! The hummus was super good! Flavorful and creamy mmm! The second time I decided to get a Chicken Shawarma salad which I was so impressed of how much meat I got!!!! It was a lot. The salad was delicious and it had tomatoes, cucumbers, pita chips and cheese! One of the best salads I have had this year! Also, my first time eating a Falafel and it was so tasty!!! Overall, I am so happy to find a mediterranean restaurant that is so good!!! Definitely a must try!

Found this gem a few years back thanks to the Fresno Save Around Coupon book, and I've been coming back ever since. The food is super flavorful, the garlic sauce I'd the best I've have anywhere and the salad is great! Also, I have to give credit for the fact that the place also looks cleaner then it did when it first opened. I'm so glad this place is still around

The food lacks flavor I can see why they don't have any customers, rude staff to, walking in it looks like a haunted house.

I do not recommend the wraps. It's filled with rice and hardly any meat. There's way better spots to get wraps from.

And so, the rice was so delicious, lamb so succulent that it almost melted in my mouth. The server was so kind and sweet, even with a jam packed midday lunch crowd. Everyone there seemed like they were being treated like family and like they eat there all the time. Aside from the above, which would easily be enough for a positive review here, there's even more. As I rushed out of the restaurant, I left my credit card. In my haste to be the 3-hour traffic back up to the Bay Area, I completely forgot until I got halfway back home, stopped for gas, and realized I couldn't pay for my gas with my card. I called them and luckily the same gal who was my server picked up and remembered me, confirmed she had my CC and told me to come back and get it. I told her I was back up in Oakland and asked a HUUUUUUGE Favor of them, to mail my CC back to me to save me the 6 hour round trip drive and ALL the headache I'd incur of getting a new card and having to redo all of the auto-pay set for countless bills with a new card number. Guess what? They did it! They took time from their busy lives, put a customer's needs first and saw past my human error and so generously sent my card to my home. Places like this family owned, down home place restore my faith in humanity and make me wish more places like this existed all over. "Thank you" doesn't even do justice for my gratitude to these folks. Can't wait to sit and dine with you all again. Huge thanks Phoenician Garden Folks

The server was very kind and built a good rapport with our table. We ordered and it took quite long to get our food. We sat down around 5:40 and ordered shortly after, received the app at 6:07 and received our food at 6:40. The food was delicious and have no complaints there. The falafel was flavorful and the chicken shawarma was moist and delicious. One issue we had though, My friend saw a wax pepper on one of the plates and asked if she can have another one. The food runner came back and brought a side dish of peppers and a side dish of pickled beets. Our server then comes out and asks whose tab he should put that on. We were a little confused because they didn't mention it would he a charge and she only asked for 1 extra not an entire bowl + a bowl of something she didn't ask for. But she took the charge and it was about $5 combined for both, a charge that wasn't prefaced beforehand. Nonetheless, the food was amazing and our server was very sweet. The restaurant was packed so it's nice to see they are busy for a local business!

This original location remains my recommended spot for Mediterranean food. Many Mediterranean…read morerestaurants in Fresno County are Armenian-owned, while only a small handful--like this family-run restaurant--specialize in Lebanese cuisine. Lebanese food is widely considered among the best expressions of Mediterranean cooking due to its vibrant use of fresh ingredients, particularly herbs, lemon, garlic, and olive oil, along with a strong emphasis on healthy, plant-based, and grilled dishes. It offers diverse, shareable, and nutrient-dense options such as tabbouleh, hummus, and falafel, making it both flavorful and nutritious. I always enjoy dining at Golden Grill because they exemplify Lebanese cuisine so well. Their dishes highlight fresh herbs like mint and parsley, along with garlic and lemon juice, rather than relying heavily on spices. The result is a light, refreshing, and aromatic flavor profile that feels both vibrant and balanced. The kebabs are excellent. The grilled cubes of beef, chicken, and kafta (ground beef and lamb) skewers are flavorful, tender, and juicy, topped with herbs and grilled to perfection. They carry a subtle smokiness and savory aroma, and the meats are beautifully charred with vibrant color. Their pita and saj sandwiches are also very well done. Each sandwich is warm and carefully assembled, forming a sturdy pocket filled with high-quality ingredients. They combine savory meats (or falafel and vegetables), creamy sauces, and crunchy pickles and onions into a balanced bite. The bread holds generous fillings without collapsing while still being tender enough to bite through easily. The pocket opens cleanly, creating the perfect pouch for the ingredients. For a small restaurant with limited seating that appears to receive many to-go orders, the presentation for dine-in guests is especially thoughtful. The dishes are served on clean white ceramic plates and trays, with the food carefully arranged and portions balanced. It is simple yet elegant and visually appealing. Golden Grill also captures the Lebanese mezze-style dining experience. As someone of Korean heritage, I appreciate this approach, since it is similar to how Korean meals are served with many shared dishes that provide variety in every meal. Some of the shared plates include Lebanese staples like hummus, falafel, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, and fresh flatbread. Everything here tastes fresh and well-prepared, with distinct textures and aromatic flavors. The signature entrées come with two cold appetizers. The hummus is silky smooth, a velvety blend of garbanzo beans and tahini that almost melts in your mouth. The baba ghanouj is creamy, garlicky, and finished with olive oil. The tabbouleh is bright and balanced with lemon juice, garlic, and a generous drizzle of olive oil that ties together the citrusy and earthy flavors. The restaurant itself is clean, with tables and chairs wiped down quickly after guests leave. Service is friendly, welcoming, and helpful when placing orders. Prices are also reasonable, especially considering many competing Mediterranean restaurants do not place the same emphasis on presentation or on creating a mezze-style dining experience at no additional cost. While some may prefer other Mediterranean cuisines, I personally enjoy the fresh, light, and diverse flavors that Lebanese food offers. Golden Grill's citrus-forward dishes and extensive mezze options make it one of my favorite Mediterranean spots.
