I'm going to give this place a second try because I really wanted to love it. I went for brunch and ordered huevos. It looked gorgeous at first... perfect sunny eggs. When I cut into the dish it had tator tot rounds in it...a whole bunch. Basically all tator tots. I expected a lot more craft in the food than frozen deep fried tator tots. I will go back and try something else...but I would not recommend the huevos. read more

George's is consistently a hit or miss spot. Do they have good specials? Absolutely! Is the food tasty? Sometimes, and sometimes it's so salty that it's inedible. Is the service friendly and personable? Sometimes, and sometimes you wonder if anyone told the server they have a new table to greet. We were visiting for the weekend and came here twice--once for drinks on the terrace and once for a big family dinner. Both times we were treated very well. Service was attentive and friendly. Drinking outside was relaxing and enjoyable. There is a lot of space between tables so you feel quite relaxed and unhurried. Dinner was great! The menu is varied and interesting. I was not impressed the first time, and their menu is not expansive (unlike its closest competitor, Montage), but I tried the burrata and was hooked, it was excellent. They should serve Margaritas in actual Margarita glasses, not small fifties-style glasses. Tried this place for the first time. Service was great from start to finish. Great ambiance with seating both inside and outside. They even allow patrons to bring their dogs to the patio which is a huge plus. The food was very good. I only tried one cocktail, the strawberry basil margarita. You could definitely taste the basil and they weren't stingy with the alcohol. However I wouldn't get it again. Too much basil for my taste. They don't offer any gluten free substitutions so that is a bummer. Their burritos are served in a bowl which makes it incredibly difficult to cut and eat. Service was mediocre. Loved the vibe of the place. Wished we would've had Taylor as a server, she's the best! read more

They seem to be out of everything a lot of the time. Outside seating seems to have a bee/wasp problem. Food is decent (what they do have).

On vacation and found this great place in Cedar Falls. Service is awesome, and the food......OH MY! The chowder was delicious lots of corn and bacon. Had breakfast there on a Sunday 8/20/23. Eggs Benedict came with greens, I asked to sub O'Brien potatoes for the greens and no can do. What really? It wasnt that I asked for something that they didnt have or didnt come with other dishes. What happened to keep the customer happy approach? No its you take it the way it is and shut up. Then I got charged extra for the greens that I barely ate. The holidaise sauce also was way too lemony and very stingy in portion. I appreciate what they are serving but really step it up a notch. The strawberries on my moms french toast, was like one only sliced, that sat in the fridge overnight and had lost all color. Come on they are plentiful in the markets right now and cheap. We went to George's for the first time, in honor of our 44th wedding anniversary. My husband ordered the pork and I ordered the chicken sandwich, which came with a side dish. I chose their mashed potatoes at the server's suggestion. Because it was a special occasion, we ordered the Truffle Fries. For the first time, they had Churro Cheesecake, possibly for Cinco de Mayo, so we ordered that, too. All of the food was delicious, with unique and special flavors. Even the cheesecake was made there that morning, with a crust of graham crackers & cinnamon crunch cereal. Yum. Let's look at what we took home: the entire chicken sandwich, two of the three pork filets, and half of the fries, so we each got two meals out of the deal. We drank only water, because that's just who we are. Our bill was $83, including a 3% convenience fee, and we gave a 25% tip, for a grand total of $106. We felt the value was there because of all the great flavors, textures, and creative recipes they used. Now for the ambiance: We were seated inside, right by the open doors to the patio. It was the perfect spot, because the folks on the patio were getting cold, but we had enough shelter from the breeze to have fresh air, but comfortable temps. Great environment, poor food. The patio with fire pits is great. Food left something to be desired. The cheese curds were very heavily over seasoned. I LOVE cheese and I've never not finished an order of cheese curds, I honestly didn't know they could be messed up. Queso was watery and not much flavor. By far the worst of both of these food I've ever tasted. Macaroni and cheese side dish had undercooked noodles. Next time we will stick to drinks around the fire pit only. read more

Been there twice...first time was within the first month they opened for supper and the most recent time was for lunch. Both times the food and service were excellent. Each time I got the Fish & Chips and no complaints...it had good flavor, descent portion, and was good and hot each time. Went for breakfast and would not recommend. Bacon was cooked to a crisp and crumbled when you took a bite. Eggs were barely lukewarm, English muffin wasn't even toasted and was extremely chewy, potatoes were cold. They weren't that busy so food shouldn't have been sitting as they were over staffed cuz all the waiters were standing around at the end of the bar.
