I have genuinely never heard of a hotel operating this way. Even extended stay hotels typically provide basic housekeeping, trash removal, fresh towels, or linen exchange during a guest's stay. By the end of the trip, the room was filled with piles of trash, dirty towels, and used dishes because absolutely nothing was touched the entire time. No trash pickup, no fresh sheets, no cleaning, nothing. Guests should not have to live in accumulating garbage just to qualify for basic housekeeping. What made things worse was the condition of the property itself. There was dog feces outside near the building entrance that remained there for an entire week, along with a constant smell of dog urine. Every single day walking into the building was unpleasant. It honestly appeared there was little to no staff maintaining the property grounds or cleanliness standards at all. The most concerning part is that none of this seemed unusual to management. The lack of urgency, accountability, or concern made it very clear this is simply how the property operates. I understand this is an extended stay hotel, but cleanliness and sanitation are not luxury amenities, they are the bare minimum. If you are considering staying here for more than a night or two, be prepared to fully clean up after yourself for your entire stay, reuse towels repeatedly, live around overflowing trash, and walk past animal waste outside the building daily. Very disappointing experience overall, and the housekeeping policy should be disclosed much more clearly before booking because had I known this beforehand, I absolutely would have stayed elsewhere. Mind you, I have stayed at this location before, which says a lot because I typically don't stay longer than 1-2 days. Unfortunately, this stay completely changed my opinion of the property. I should also mention there always seems to be something inappropriate happening around the hotel, and there is a constant police presence on the property. Seeing law enforcement there so frequently does not exactly create a safe or comfortable environment for guests. Combined with the lack of cleanliness, nonexistent housekeeping, overflowing trash, dog waste left outside for days, and the general condition of the property, this no longer feels like a place that is properly managed or cared for. What was supposed to be a comfortable extended stay ended up feeling stressful, unsanitary, and honestly concerning. - 0

It really was a nice home away from home with all the essentials available. Check in process was fast and easy. No billing issues during checkout either. The place is also dog friendly. I must admit that I love TownPlace Suites more than Residence Inn a lot of times. The rooms are spacious and everything I need to stay for an extended time is readily available. Sure, it's supposed to be a budget extended hotel but I don't mind at all. Love the big fridge and microwave+ dishwasher also. It even has a mini stove so I can cook. The hotel location here also has a free EV charger right in front of the building. It was such a nice perk to have!!! The rooms were clean and very quiet. It had no problem accommodating me and the two dogs and everything. The bathroom and everything else was nice and spacious too. The A/C was clean smelling and not noisy like many places can be. If I have to go stay not far from home for whatever reasons again, I would definitely pick TownPlace Suites Irvine Lake Forest. The staff here is lovely and the location is perfect as it's right off of 405/5 exits. You are also surrounded by good restaurants too, which is another bonus. REAL eggs! A weeknight happy hour with swill wine but, hey, it's free and it is a nice thing for a hotel to offer. The shower is hot. CONS: Unfortunately the entire reason I'm in a hotel is that I need a place to get a good 6-8 hours sleep, and this was not that place. The mattress was an ever shifting bowl of mush accompanied by super lumpy pillows. Even if I preferred a soft rather than firm mattress, this was more like soft that had been dropped on the freeway and run over by a few trucks. After the first night I went to the desk to ask if all the rooms had the same mattresses and was told, "Yes. I'm sorry." So I requested a sheet change because the sheets smelled like sweat. (The changed ones also smelled used) So after several backaches and limited sleep, I hope to warn others that if you don't love a super soft, no support mattress with sweaty stinky smelly sheets and large lumpy hard pillows, perhaps this isn't the hotel for you.
