Once again, I stand by claim that this is the most delicious sandwich there is! Specifically at this location, they have it down right. I tried this sandwich at a different Carrot and Daikon and it just didn't hit the way it does at this Corona location. Maybe I'm crazy, but if you have never tried this spot, try the Pork Belly here. The pork belly crunch followed by the fat that melts in your mouth, complimented with a slightly sweet and mostly savory sauce. Of course the carrot, Daikon, jalapeno and cilantro with the fresh banh mi make this top notch!! Wowza!

Full disclosure: I'm always suspicious of places that straddle the "fusion" food fence. I find…read more"fusion" usually translates to smothering something in an off-the-shelf international aisle sauce or wrapping it in a tortilla. Now, let me be clear, this restaurant does NOT mention the term fusion - at all. However, their menu whispers, "Hey there..." Crispy pork belly, lomo saltado, spam and egg. And, oh, brothers and sisters, they have gotten as close to paying the proper homage to all fusion cultures as I've seen. SPAM AND EGG: I'm chubby so SPAM is like my kryptonite. I had to have it. This sandwich threw me for a look. I'm used to other places overcooking the spam. NOT so at C&D. The spam was juicy. The fried egg was fluffy. The spicy sauce was genuinly spicy. I loved it so much that I've had it twice in three days. CRISPY PORK: I love the Chinese/Filipino Crispy Pork. The pork was nice and juicy. The skin was crunchy. Really great flavor. The only drawback was my own fault...of eating it cold because I had to eat the Spam and Egg sandwich first. LOMO SALTADO: I've got this sandwich sitting on my counter calling to me, in the queue while I finish my 2nd Spam and Egg Sandwich. I will come back to this review later today to fill in this blank. VIETNAMESE COFFEE (Large): I liked it. Yep. Not as overly sweet as I'm used to at Mr. Bagguette in LA, and that's a great thing. The only drawback is that it has a caffeine KICK. I felt the caffeine flowing through my veins 10 minutes after I took my first sip. Bread: In banh mi, the bread is the make-or-break. Here, the bread is not your typical medium to hard crunchy exterior and soft interior. The bread is on the softer side on the outside. It is a great change in pace for me because I haven't cut the top palette of my mouth like I usually do with harder bread. AND...that means that the sandwich doesn't lose it's character when I ate the sandwich cold later. STAFF: Very friendly! They are there to serve the customer. I've been greeted with a smile and genuine happiness. Great work C&D. You have a customer!

The interior decor can be described in one word: Dude! There are a handful of tables inside and a bar where beer on tap is served. As a first-timer, the young woman at the register was friendly and helpful in helping me make decisions after being overwhelmed by their large menu. So many choices! I decided on the Acapulco Gold: BBQ chicken breast pieces, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and dressing. It usually comes with onions too, but I asked that ingredient be left out. She guided me to try it on garlic bread, which was a wise choice (thank you), and her finger measurements helped me decide on how big a sandwich I should get. I made it a combo, which came with a bag of chips and a fountain drink. The sandwich was messy but, as is often the case with messy food, it was incredibly delicious! All the flavors melded well together. Every ingredient tasted so fresh, especially the bread. This is THE place to come if you are craving a sandwich! Note: street parking or pay in a nearby lot

Order ahead if you're in a rush and pickup times are usually pretty accurate. If you have the time, or if you prefer to see your food being prepared, order in person to have your choice of bread, meats, toppings, and condiments all laid out in front of you for the picking. Choose from the menu full of cold & hot sub options or build your own. I do wish they used better bacon. Its hard to get behind that paper bacon most sandwich places tend to use. At this location in particular, we've always experienced good food, a clean interior and pleasant employees. The outside seating area is small, which is expected for the location. It could use some umbrellas at the tables since there is no awning or any type of cover at the store front. We're in sunny Cali, so all outdoor restaurant seating should have some shade options, in my humble opinion.

The next time I came in but I never returned today I was craving a delias grinder ....when I called in the phone service was old school professional, not what I'm used to anymore. And when I got to the restaurant, the woman that it helped me. And cashed me out was extremely hospitable, respectful and treated me like a freaking customer. Not like I was bothering her like these people make you feel nowadays and that was refreshing Her name was cassidy . And because of her class, I will continue to return to Delias grinders University as much as I can. Thank you.

Our server, Savannah, was amazing! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. She answered all of our questions, offered excellent recommendations, and guided us through the menu as we ordered. Outstanding customer service from start to finish. 2. Menu - A The menu was easy to read and well organized. At first, the sandwich prices seemed a little high, but once we saw the size of the sandwiches, it was clear they were a great value. You definitely get your money's worth. 3. Italian Market - A While waiting for our food, we looked around the store and were impressed by the large selection of authentic Italian products. From canned tomatoes to a wide variety of imported pastas and other Italian specialties, there were plenty of quality items available at reasonable prices. If you enjoy cooking Italian food at home, this is a great place to shop. 4. Food - A+ We ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich with both hot and sweet peppers. The sandwich was outstanding, loaded with flavorful Italian beef, and the peppers were delicious. One warning--the hot peppers are very hot! Next time, we'll probably order it with all sweet peppers. We also ordered the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich on focaccia bread, and it was amazing. The chicken was tender, the sauce had excellent flavor, and the focaccia was fresh and complemented the sandwich perfectly. Both sandwiches were generous in size and packed with flavor. Overall First Impression Tommy Salami's exceeded our expectations. Between the exceptional customer service, easy-to-read menu, authentic Italian market, and delicious food, it was an outstanding first experience. We'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu. Overall Grade: A+ Food for Thought: If you've never tried a cannoli, this is the place to do it.
