I've been revisiting a few old favorite restaurants lately, so today I dropped into Butch's. I'm glad I did! I ordered a half turkey sandwich on squaw bread with a side of potato salad. Unlike your run-of-the-mill sandwich shop that offer lettuce and tomato, Butch's sandwiches also include onion and pickles for a real "pow" of flavor. The meat is high quality and was almost like fresh roasted. The potato salad was the typical Reser's style, but still tasty and a nice tangy complement to the sandwich. A half-sandwich at Butch's is the size one would consider a full sandwich if you made it at home, so a full sandwich would really be like having two. I paid around $11 for the half and the salad, making it a much better deal and a healthier alternative to the burgers and burritos you can get nearby. The shop isn't fancy, with a couple of communal tables inside and a few picnic tables outside, but the service was friendly. I'll be back soon! read more

Had a great experience here and will likely be coming back! I visited for the first time at the beginning of the week in search for a great sandwich and I definitely found one. The woman who helped me order was very sweet and could tell I was a little confused but she explained what all they had and the options for my sandwich. It was a very nice sized sandwich for the grove I think it was max $14 and I was able to cut half of a half and shake that w a family member. The meat on the sandwich was great along w the bread I believe it is baked there and it is so delicious. I got it w all the toppings and pickles added it was an extra 35c but that didn't bother me. It's a small cute shop that clearly people frequent in the area cause at least 8 people where there spread out. Considering that the service was super fast here's table and chairs you can sit at inside and there was also a sitting area across there little parking lot. Vibes greats food even better! read more

My all-time favorite sandwich is the Italian and this place does a really good job at it, everything tasted fresh but the one key thing that every sandwich place needs to have is good quality bread. If you have that your customers will be guaranteed to come back. Everything was proportioned perfectly. They do have a few sizes to choose from 6, 8, and 12. It definitely has a nostalgic feel. It looks like the place hasn't changed much which is great. One of the nurses at work had this amazing-looking sandwich, so I asked where it came from. She pointed me here, and after checking out the pictures on Yelp I had to try it for myself. I'm glad I did--these sandwiches are huge, delicious, and definitely not stingy with the meat. The ambiance is casual and fun. Inside and outside are picnic-style tables and benches, giving it a relaxed, park-like vibe. Indoors you've got air conditioning, and outside there's a covered patio that's perfect for enjoying your meal. Plenty of parking since it's in a mini mall, which makes it super convenient. They said Riverside county allows them not to use gloves; but if they look at county mandates all sandwich shops MUST use gloves especially for sandwich shops because it ready made food, but I watched cashier go to the back make sandwiches without washing his hands yet he is touching register cash and cards. The sandwiches are tasty. They use a good amount of meat and plenty of veggies. It's always nice to have a choice of bread at a deli, too. A full sandwich is a pretty decent size. The potato salad and macaroni salad are ok. Nothing to write home about. The employees were friendly enough. There's not really much to say for the ambiance. It's still pretty old school inside, but it's clean. They have a covered outside eating area, which is always a plus on a nice day. As with most places these days, it was pretty pricey. To get to the point, I will just start by saying my bread was delicious, felt super fresh even for being after 3PM when I grabbed my sandwich! The sandwich itself was tasty, no-frills (much like their dining area and that's not a jab) and nothing super stood out as special but definitely one of those sandwiches that just has that "I could not replicate this at home" vibes. That being said, the customer service could have been slightly better. It's not that the guy who helped me was rude, he just didn't do any more than he needed to... what I mean by that was I ordered the sandwich I wanted and there was literally zero further dialogue... He didn't ask what kind of bread I wanted (which to be honest, my eyes were darting around the menu so much figuring it out that I didn't even notice that there were options), he didn't ask anything about what I wanted on it or if what comes standard with it was fine (again, also which I didn't see listed anywhere on the menu even after checking after the fact), nothing. Luckily I DID like everything that came on my sandwich, but I'm curious if there were other options that I could've added. All in all, I would definitely go back, the bread was so good and I was left satisfied! I've been coming here for years. It's a Riverside staple. The sandwiches are nothing out of the ordinary but I love shopping/supporting local. But today ends that. The service is terrible. The woman taking the orders is vile. She has the worst attitude and acts as if she's in a rush when there's nobody in line. It's unnecessary and makes the environment weird. Excellent sandwich! We ordered the large ultimate Italian. It was honestly one of the better sandwiches we've had in a long time. It's like how grinders were made "back in the day" if that makes sense. They don't skimp on the ingredients. The bread was very good. The price is pretty much what every place is charging. Large for $16.04 that's with tax. It was worth every bit! We were in the area for an event and if we are back in the area we will definitely come back. Great customer service also! I would definitely recommend the German chocolate cheese cake they have; it's mind blowing. The only issue I have is the customers parking in non parking spots. These big old SUV's sometimes park blocking the door or front window like it's a parking spot. I didn't like that their menu does not say what comes standard on the sandwiches. So the hubby called while there. The sandwich was ok.. I wanted olives there were none.. my husband wanted no tomatoes or onions and there were both.. they even wrote on the wrapper no onions or tomatoes and then put them on there. I had a very unpleasant experience at this small business. An older woman, who appeared to be around 70 years old, was extremely rude when I asked a simple question about my order. I was with three coworkers, and we're all Mexican. Her tone and behavior felt discriminatory, and we didn't appreciate being treated that way.
