The shop is so cute, great service, the person taking orders was amazing! We had pastrami and potato salad. Sadly the pastrami was so full of fat we couldn't finish our sandwiches. Big clumps of uncooked goopy fat. We were so disappointed, I had one of their pastrami sandwiches a month ago while my husband was in the hospital and it was really good. I really didn't want to write a bad review for this place because honestly, just based on the food alone...it's wonderful. I love it, the first few times I came here an older woman helped me, and she was a little rude, but I ignored it because I like the food. I brought my friend with me yesterday to try it, and there was a young woman helping a man so the older gentleman "helped me"....well more like took my order. I asked for the butchie steak, I've had it before, but Ive never paid attention to what was in it, and I was wondering if maybe I would want to add any extras so I asked him "actually, what comes in the butchie steak again?" His response was "you're going to order a sandwich and you don't even know whats in it?!" But in the most annoyed and condescending way, I was not expecting that kind of response, and for reference, I am NOT a rude person. I work in customer service as a hairstylist. I know how to treat my loyal customers. I asked him if that was ok, and he rushed through the ingredients. i was so insulted, and tbh kind of embarrassed that he spoke to me that way, I didn't add anything extra. The entire interaction i felt like he was annoyed. We almost left, but my friend and I were so hungry. The young lady at the register was super polite and sweet. She was in fact the saving grace. I love mom and pop shops , i love supporting small businesses, but I'm not about to be treated like a nuisance and still give them my money. I referred people in the past, but not anymore. It didn't help that while i was telling my co workers about it they immediately knew i was talking about butch's. Sounds like they treat all the customers like cap. Had a great experience here and will likely be coming back! I visited for the first time at the beginning of the week in search for a great sandwich and I definitely found one. The woman who helped me order was very sweet and could tell I was a little confused but she explained what all they had and the options for my sandwich. It was a very nice sized sandwich for the grove I think it was max $14 and I was able to cut half of a half and shake that w a family member. The meat on the sandwich was great along w the bread I believe it is baked there and it is so delicious. I got it w all the toppings and pickles added it was an extra 35c but that didn't bother me. It's a small cute shop that clearly people frequent in the area cause at least 8 people where there spread out. My all-time favorite sandwich is the Italian and this place does a really good job at it, everything tasted fresh but the one key thing that every sandwich place needs to have is good quality bread. If you have that your customers will be guaranteed to come back. Everything was proportioned perfectly. They do have a few sizes to choose from 6, 8, and 12. It definitely has a nostalgic feel. It looks like the place hasn't changed much which is great. One of the nurses at work had this amazing-looking sandwich, so I asked where it came from. She pointed me here, and after checking out the pictures on Yelp I had to try it for myself. The potato salad and macaroni salad are ok. Nothing to write home about. The employees were friendly enough. There's not really much to say for the ambiance. It's still pretty old school inside, but it's clean. They have a covered outside eating area, which is always a plus on a nice day. As with most places these days, it was pretty pricey. I've been revisiting a few old favorite restaurants lately, so today I dropped into Butch's. I'm glad I did! I ordered a half turkey sandwich on squaw bread with a side of potato salad. Unlike your run-of-the-mill sandwich shop that offer lettuce and tomato, Butch's sandwiches also include onion and pickles for a real "pow" of flavor. The meat is high quality and was almost like fresh roasted. The potato salad was the typical Reser's style, but still tasty and a nice tangy complement to the sandwich. A half-sandwich at Butch's is the size one would consider a full sandwich if you made it at home, so a full sandwich would really be like having two. I paid around $11 for the half and the salad, making it a much better deal and a healthier alternative to the burgers and burritos you can get nearby. The shop isn't fancy, with a couple of communal tables inside and a few picnic tables outside, but the service was friendly. I'll be back soon! read more

To get to the point, I will just start by saying my bread was delicious, felt super fresh even for being after 3PM when I grabbed my sandwich! The sandwich itself was tasty, no-frills (much like their dining area and that's not a jab) and nothing super stood out as special but definitely one of those sandwiches that just has that "I could not replicate this at home" vibes. That being said, the customer service could have been slightly better. It's not that the guy who helped me was rude, he just didn't do any more than he needed to... what I mean by that was I ordered the sandwich I wanted and there was literally zero further dialogue... He didn't ask what kind of bread I wanted (which to be honest, my eyes were darting around the menu so much figuring it out that I didn't even notice that there were options), he didn't ask anything about what I wanted on it or if what comes standard with it was fine (again, also which I didn't see listed anywhere on the menu even after checking after the fact), nothing. Luckily I DID like everything that came on my sandwich, but I'm curious if there were other options that I could've added. All in all, I would definitely go back, the bread was so good and I was left satisfied! I didn't like that their menu does not say what comes standard on the sandwiches. So the hubby called while there. The sandwich was ok.. I would definitely recommend the German chocolate cheese cake they have; it's mind blowing. The only issue I have is the customers parking in non parking spots. These big old SUV's sometimes park blocking the door or front window like it's a parking spot.
