I was in need of a new walker for my elderly mother. I spoke to representatives from several Austin area companies and was told to fax in the doctor order and insurance info. They would then order the walker and have it within a week. None of those locations had walker in-stock to look at or test. I finally called Georgetown Home Medical Equipment and spoke with Andrea. She was friendly and answered all of my questions including a price range. She stated they had numerous models available in the store and ready for purchase and pickup. Upon arrival, Andrea showed me the different models; weight restrictions; easy of storage; and brake functions. I picked out a medium weight 'Lifestyle' model in Teal Green. Purchase was simple and easy. And my mother doesn't have to wait another week for her walker. read more

Absolutely love the friendly service I got from Nancy helping locate a medical bed for my brother after tearing both knees down and having emergency surgery to fix ligaments. Nancy really went out of her way to help us and it has been a Godsend in maneuvering him in and out of bed as we are both past 55. Roger delivered the bed and Trapeze and set it up fast and without problems. He was also so very friendly and helpful. I absolutely recommend this company for needed medical supplies. read more

I was scheduled to have surgery on a Fri my husband called this facility because we found out we can rent a hospital bed. When he called we were told they did not have any beds available i didn't have a good feeling about receiving the response that was given so i told my husband let me call the Dr's office and see if the nurse can call them to see if she will have any luck, later on that day the nurse called me back to tell me they have a bed for me oh ok that's great. A day before my surgery (Thursday) Andrea called me and said something was wrong with they're truck and i have to call someone else to see about getting a bed. They haven't taken it in for an inspection and they are under new management. The first thing that came out of my mouth is y'all only have one truck (she stated yeah) and my surgery is tmrw Andrea kept insisting i needed to call another company, really this is unbelievable I asked to speak to a Manager but then Andrea stated they're going to have the truck inspected and they will deliver the bed in a couple hours ok great thanks. I called them 2 weeks ago for a pickup for today between 10am-12pm sitting here patiently waiting Andrea calls my daughter at 12pm telling her they're picking up the bed today first of all how did you get my daughters # because I'm looking at the invoice and it clearly has my # on it and I know I didn't give y'all her # Andrea response was I have 2 #'s on here then she proceeds to say, would you like to reschedule the pickup because the guy whose suppose to pick it up is having problems trying to deliver a wheelchair to a hospital. First of all no I don't want to reschedule a pick up because i'm not having a problem y'all are so I need someone to pick it up today Andrea states do you need a specific time ummm yes I do she did give a time the bed was picked up it's just a shame GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE is hard to come by hopefully I will not need any medical equipment no time soon because this facility is not the friendliest when dealing with customers read more

I had gotten a wheelchair through Georgetown Home Medical in 2015. My insurance will pay for a new one every 3 years, but until recently I hadn't needed a new chair, but now I do. So, I called them. Why not? They had my records, and hadn't been too bad to deal with at that time, which was shortly after I lost most of my left leg to necrotizing fasciitis ("flesh-eating bacteria"). Wow. I don't know if they have had a management change or what, but it was a totally different experience. First, I was told I would need to get another prescription for a wheelchair, which the insurance company told me later is untrue. Then, "Paula" started making absolutely ridiculous comparisons to prescription *DRUGS* by way of trying to justify this falsehood. Apparently, they are just...uh... "disinclined" to obtain a new prescription themselves, if indeed it needs to be obtained at all. DME (Durable Medical Equipment) has its own rules, but I am not on Medicare. Get another prescription?? As I said - I am an above-knee amputee, and my leg did not grow back in 4 years. I have the same diagnosis as I did 4 years ago, and the insurance company knows that. Then, she told me, I had to pay CASH UP FRONT for the chair, then *I* would have to file a claim with the insurance and THEN I would have to accept whatever the insurance would pay and EAT the rest of the cost that they had grossly inflated prior to the sale. Ummm....no. I called the insurance company back immediately and they, like I, were astounded. The insurance company is going to find the model chair I want, and have it shipped directly to me, all for free. The insurance company is also looking into this issue. Likely nothing will be done, but the agent I talked to seemed rather concerned about the situation. I sincerely hope that people here in Georgetown will not use this company for any DME needs due to their rather unsavory way of doing business, and that the company goes out of business soon. Hopefully, they will be replaced by a DME provider who isn't quite as fixated on profit to the exclusion of all else. read more

Don't trust what these folks say. They will lead you into a purchase by saying that your secondary insurance will cover the great majority of the expense. They don't even ask who your insurance is before delivering the equipment. Then when they realize they don't even accept your insurance they bill you double what was quoted. And because someone signed for it at the rehab hospital, we are liable. Good business practices = giving consumer all the facts and helping them make sound decisions. Bad business practices = cheerfully promising a price without even knowing who the insurance carrier is. read more

Georgetown Home Medical is fantastic! Trevor can be here with the medical equipment I need about 15 minutes after I call into the office. He's very helpful and willing to answer any question - I've never met a nicer guy. The office staff is also super nice and helpful - I rarely have to leave a message, but when I do, it's always returned very quickly. Other reviewers are complaining about issues with their insurance companies and Medicare - not Georgetown Home Medical. I'd recommend their service to anyone! read more

I am giving them one star because the man who delivered the equipment was extremely nice. The women in the office are rude and they're not helpful and trust me they're in no hurry to Bill your insurance. And being medical supply during covid19, you would think they would even use a mask... but no! They were very rude not helpful didn't care and on top of that from the parking lot we could see them making faces, laughing and hand gestures at us. Who does that?? I would not recommend for this reason. I'd rather be treated nicely then rude and uncaring. Seems like an oxymoron you're in medical supply and you're extremely uncaring to the ill. But making faces there's no excuse for! Sad because they're also adults.... Anyways if I ever need medical equipment again I'll never come back here read more

Just an addendum to the previous review, something that came up in a conversation with my wife afterward. You would think it was important enough that I would have remembered it the first time, but alas, I'm 64, and I forgot to put this part in. Mea culpa. So - anyway - this chair that I'm getting now is actually my *third* one. Unfortunately, my first chair, the one I got here, broke a structural piece due to an accident. My wife went to get another chair for me, as obviously I wasn't going much of anywhere without a wheelchair. We knew we'd probably have to pay for this one (and we did) but since it broke on my watch that wasn't an issue. We also went to this establishment based on the "buy local" philosophy. HOLY MOLY. We expected it to be a LITTLE higher. But certainly not what we found. I'm not even going to SAY how much higher it was, but I will say it was RIDICULOUS. We were going to buy it from another non-local DME but at this point we said "to heck with THIS" and bought it from Amazon. Caveat youbetterbelieveit emptor. read more

This company chose not to continue the Medicare maintenance contract on a medical bed. When the bed broke, they gave an estimate of $600.00 to repair. Had they continued the Medicare maintenance contract the repair would have been covered. The patient lives on a fixed and limited income and does not have the money to cover the cost of this repair. This is not the only issue I have personally witnessed with this company, but it is the most egregious. There are other good medical equipment companies in the Georgetown area. I suggest looking elsewhere. read more

When I went in today, we found out they do not accept my new insurance... but they still found a way to take care of us. These are nice people, and I would highly recommend their services! read more

My 94 year old father-in-law went into Georgetown Medical for some medical equipment and mentioned that his rolling walker's brakes were not working properly. He had gone to where he had purchased the walker and was told that they couldn't fix them. The guy at Geo'tn Medical looked at the problem and fixed it!! When we need to buy a walker for my mother-in-law, we will be buying it here. read more
