I've been a patient at Clear Choice Eye Care in Cedar Park for years, and my family has used them as well, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I went in to order new glasses and was very clear about the frames I wanted. The staff initially only ordered the lenses. When I told them I also wanted the frames, they said that was fine and that they would place that order as well. I agreed and left the office. After I had already left, they called me and said the price would be higher (which I expected), but then told me I would have to come back to the office to pay before they could place the order. At that point the process had already taken longer than expected just to order the lenses, so I decided to cancel the order and asked for a refund. After putting me on hold, they called back and told me they would still charge a $46 restocking fee -- even though the issue with the order was not caused by me. As a long-time customer, that was very disappointing to hear. Charging a restocking fee in this situation doesn't feel fair and left a bad impression after years of being a loyal client. I hope the management or owner sees this and reconsiders how this was handled, because I would have preferred to continue coming here. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won't be returning and I can't recommend it to friends or family. read more

Took them in this morning, with an opportunity to get them redone. Instead, the young lady turned the conversation defensive and condescending, trying to lessen the prescription mistake. As usual, I broke my frames on my glasses. Need a new pair quick and Clear Choice was on my Vision plan. So I drove over and dropped in. No appointment needed so I got an exam to see if my vision changed. Then I walked around looking for frames. Really not crazy about any of them. Finally picked one that wasn't that bad. Oh, I should say everyone who worked there was helpful and friendly. Once I picked frames, I sat with a woman who took my order. Told her I needed them quick. Normally it takes about 2 weeks, they were able to get it in one week. My insurance covered all of it so no charge to me. read more

The manager, Harry Perez, happily brought me to his desk and proceeded to provide excellent customer service. He gave clear answers to all my questions, provided me with specific options and transparent pricing, and didn't pressure me to go in any specific direction. Still patronizing Clear Choice! I want to let everyone know how good the Drs are at this location. My son was seeing a Pediatric Ophthalmologist from the time he was 2 and he's now 14. I took him in and had his eye exam done here because he needed new glasses and we were in the process of finding a new Pediatric Ophthalmologist. Once we were able to get to his new specialist she agreed that his prescription received from Clear Choice was spot on. For two years we have been customers with Clear Choice Eye Care on Whitestone. Service had always been good and staff friendly. However, I have to seriously warn people not to see DR. Tran. She has made several mistakes on my daughter's prescription and now on mine. I went to get a pair of glasses from a different store and I need progressive lenses. The prescription was not written that way even though the doctor wrote a prescription for my bifocal contact lenses. She new I needed a progressive eye glasses prescription. I called, talked to Harry. He refused to work me into the schedule at a time that was convenient for me. Even though he said it wouldn't take long to see the other doctor and get the correct prescription. That's now how you treat customers especially when it was not my fault. He was rude and short with me and wouldn't budge. He just kept saying "I can't just create and appointment". I say, yes you can. If you really want to help someone when YOU have made the mistake you can work someone into the schedule. I've had other doctors do that. Take 10 minutes out of your hour and a half lunch. Ridiculous. But when a doctor cancels on a patient or is late to an appointment we just have to deal with it and get charged fees. We will NOT be returning to Clear Choice Eye-care due to this experience. You should want to help when this mistake was yours. read more

I went here for an eye exam. I got in the same the day I called for an appointment. I was greeted right away and waited no more than a few minutes to start my exam. The optometrist was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything to me. I also purchased new frames. They have a large selection to choose from; you should have no problem finding something you like. Harry was very helpful in helping me choose a set a frames. Despite it being busy, Harry was able to efficiently and clearly explain my insurance benefits to me. He made the entire process very simple and straightforward. I took the whole family in today for an eye exam and it was a very pleasant experience. They didn't push us to buy any extra but did offer discounts if we decided to get their glasses. We did not but the offer was appreciated. The entire process was painless and everyone was was accommodating. It takes a special person to work with children and let me te you they're very special here! My kids were anxious to begin with but the assistant quickly extinguished their fear with a few jokes that had them smiling and ready to go. We made an appointment and didn't have to wait at all! I read the Yelp reviews of all my insurance-approved doctors, checked out each business' website and picked the one I felt most comfortable with. I wanted to give my business to someone small, independent (non-chain) and friendly. I found what I was looking for in ClearChoice. I called in to set an appointment and there was plenty of availability. I went in 2 days later and was, I believe, the only customer in the office at 9:30 in the morning. I did feel that things were a bit slower than they should have been, but no big deal. Everyone was very nice and I had a good experience. I would recommend this place to my friends and I will return the next time I need their services. The delays are keeping me from giving that fifth star. I go back in a week to pick up some contacts so we'll see if things are any different then. read more

Also, identified an allergy issue and wrote me an Rx to combat that which was highly priced and she worked with my pharmacy to get the right comparable drug script to be covered under Aetnal. I went here for the first time last year by recommendation of a friend, had to use my benefits right before year's end. They were fabulous, worked me in and Harry worked with my insurance to get me the best deal. He is AMAZING in his knowledge about everything eye care. He provides exemplary customer service. Nobody is better at helping you find the perfect pair of glasses, perfectly fit to your needs, finding you the best possible use of benefits and resources, and all with a great sense of humor and a smile! And this was my first experience with progressive lenses (the new bi-focal), which Harry made a delightful experience! This year, when I left my job and had to use my benefits and HSA account within a few weeks' time, I again went back to Clear Choice and again received the same exceptional care and service. Despite relocating 20 miles away, I also convinced my husband to make the trek there as well. We both couldn't be happier. We walked out of there with 6-9 months supply of contacts, replacement lenses for our current frames, a new pair of prescription glasses each AND a pair of prescription sunglasses each..all for less than $1400! And these are fashionable, high-end glasses, progressive lenses, astigmatisms, the whole nine yards. Couldn't have been a better use of our HSA account funds. Harry has won over both me and my husband...if we're within 50 miles, we're going to Clear Choice and Harry! I do have to admit that I am spoiled with Harry. I haven't had an eye exam in years. I think sometime in the 1990s. I've noticed I'm squinting a lot and having some issues seeing at night. I found this place via my insurance website, booked an appointment online. Then they called and confirmed it about an hour after I did it. Nice! I went in, fully expecting the dialation treatment. Nope. WHEW! I hate that. I got my new glasses ordered and they were in faster than I expected. The staff is fantastic! Not only did they thoroughly explain what my insurance covered, they also pointed out exactly which frames were covered the most.
