As a member of the seasoned food population if you catch my drift, I would not recommend if you look like me. The food was bland and it tasted like they only used pepper to season the ribs. We visited on a very slow week night, with the front counter help just standing around. 2 other families already seated and eating. They were out of everything. Smoked chicken, grilled chicken and even salad. What we did get was awful. The fries were cold and undercooked. The BBQ looked and tasted like it had been cooked in a boiled and sauce thrown on it. Let me begin by saying Georgia Bob's has been around a while, and has a number (9) of locations. I've eaten at 4 of them, and they are all a little different. Some are part of gas stations, some are stand alone, and all have different cooking setups, so there will be variety in flavor, offerings, etc. The Perry location is close off of I 75, is near the fairgrounds, and may have been one of the cleanest dining rooms I've ever been in. As has typically been my experience at other locations, employees were super sweet, the sweet tea was perfect, and overall experience was great. This restaurant was a well oiled machine. I ordered my typical G Bob Pulled Pork plate - I went with Brunswick Stew and Cole Slaw as sides. First: the meat. G Bob's serves finely pulled, pre sauced pork. For some, this is how they like it. The pork is cooked very well, no fat or gristle to be found. Nice hint of smoke, but not too pronounced. I like to add their "hot" BBQ sauce. Portion size is ample. Sides: their Brunswick stew is not one where vegetables are visible. It honestly seems like a puréed portion of their pulled pork with some other seasonings. Brunswick Stew is VERY personal - everyone makes it a little different. Theirs has good flavor. I'm not a fan of the consistency - but that's a personal preference. Coke Slaw was the minced cabbage type - not shredded. But larger mince - not pulverized to mush. REALLY compliments the 'cue. Mayonnaise base (if I had to guess) but good vinegar, pepper, celery seed taste as well. This location does a slice of Garlic Texas Toast with the BBQ plate. Appears to be grilled on a flat top - done perfectly. This is a solid, clean, sit down BBQ restaurant. If you've been put off by smaller G Bob's locations, give this Perry gem a try. I'll be back with my hungry family next time I'm traveling that stretch if I-75. read more

When the ribs arrived at the table, they looked like the "last of the ribs." He was very disappointed. The food was marginal. Nothing of note. Pros-The coleslaw was tasty and not heavy. They also offer a drive-thru, but there is a small wait. Cons-$1.99ish each for each side. A little to much bread for my taste on the sandwich. The pork had a bit to much of a vinegar taste for my liking. The sauces tasted to much like tomato. While passing by Perry on I75 we wanted bbq. So glad we decided to go for a non chain restaurant. When you first walk in you are greeted by Sandy and Diane, the sweetest most helpful ladies. Sandy help us decide on what was right for us. I had the rib plate, oh my gee!!! The ribs literally fall off the bone, I'm not a big fan of bbq sauce, so I skipped it the ribs absolutely did not need it. Sooo tasty and smoky. I had fries and Brunswick stew, which was hot and so savory, very good. What a disappointment. I should've walked out the door when they said their most popular item was chicken salad. I got the brisket, which was more like lukewarm well done-roast beef from a school cafeteria. It was wet and gloopy, not like any brisket I've seen before. Sandwiches don't include sides so we ordered a couple extras to share. My group ordered sliced turkey, pulled pork, and pimento cheese sandwiches as well as the mini corn dogs. The pulled pork was a bit of a disappointment, the pork was a bit mushy. The pimento cheese was really good and a bit spicy. The corn nuggets were really tasty. First of all, I've eaten a lot of bbq in my day and smoked over a ton myself. I am not overly critical cuz bbq is great generally speaking. I ordered a pulled pork plate with green beans and a side salad. I know I shoulda had the slaw but I'm trying to eat healthier. The green beans tasted like they opened a can and put them on my plate. The meat was orange and coated with their own sauce. I prefer to have my 'cue as it comes off the smoker and add sauce if I need or want it. A restaurant in middle Georgia called "Georgia Bob's BBQ" should do better. The state generally has great BBQ. read more

Tried the Georgia Bobs in Perry today! I wanted a fresh salad, never had a salad there but it was really good and super fresh! I got it with fried chicken cause I wanted to treat myself a little bit! Amber was at the window and took my order, she was super sweet! My salad was definitely made fresh it took a minute but worth the wait I will definitely be back soon to get another salad, probably going to try grilled next time!
