It seems economic development has stirred a few of the local folk who call this county home and it's creating quite a stink. A local coalition is opposing a proposed dump site for Class B biosolids, also called "sewage sludge," in the southern part of the county basically the citizens here are opposed to have their neighboring counties poop dumped amongst them. I'm sure most can agree that we don't appreciate the neighbor's dog eliminating on our lawns much less having up to five truck loads of this sanitary sewer being deposit near our homes and surrounding areas we use for recreational activities - these types of disagreements have been going on for eons and it's always about money whether it's the profits of the contractors applying for the permit or the devaluation of the local homeowner's properties and some other concerns that always gets downplayed. Well I don't have a dog in the fight but I do have compassion for those that do and my interest in this county has always been about enjoying the outdoors whether it's camping or hiking the numerous trails or spending time on one of the many lakes scattered around the area, the bottom line is that I spend money here and that has a positive impact on the local economy like many others do, this revenue contributes to the good of all as it should - now I'm not saying business profits don't have the same impact it just passes through a few more hands and may trickle outside the county. Well I hope the coalition wins and I can continue to enjoy the benefits Putnam County offers without the odors - this place reeks of clean air and that's how we like it so hopefully they "don't poop on Putnam County...

The lady at the front desk is so welcoming and nice, as well as as with the Park being more updated and clean. I know in the past the manager lady was not the friendliest and a lot of tenants used to complain with no resolution, but this has not been the case since I've moved back. They also have a maintenance lady who lives in the park and does repairs, if needed, in no time. I remember the Internet being a problem as well, but not anymore. So far everything has been great and I'm happy I gave them another chance because it's a different park than it was three years ago.

And loads of different types of camping/cabin rentals available. And a pool! This day I went just to walk the trails and it's amazing how you can feel so far in the woods while still being basically in a neighborhood. The trails aren't very long but plenty to see along the way. I liked the tree house trail and seeing the neat treehouses you can camp in. And the views over the river are gorgeous down the jungle trail. If you need to get out to touch grass, highly suggest this spot!

There was so much wildlife to be heard throughout the night including owls, woodpeckers, and what we think were crickets or maybe lubbers. The bathrooms and shower areas were very clean for a park/camping area. There are different trails to explore along the path to the treehouses, which we didn't have a chance to do. We suggest bringing a sheet or blanket to cover your mattresses. Each treehouse has 2 twin sized bunk beds (total of 4 mattresses). They are VERY uncomfortable, so if you need extra support, you should probably bring a mattress topper/padding. The grills were pretty clean, just need some dusting off before cooking, though, nothing out of the ordinary. Upkeep for everything was great!

The park's electric and sewer does need some work, our sewer connection malfunctioned, but they did repair itright away. Also had inconsistent power, our GFCI kept tripping. (Never happened before or after). So the ground may have been a problem. The closest full service grocery store is a Winn-Dixie in Crescent City, Seville does have a Dollar General. Local Restaurants: Pierson Family Diner- good home cooking. Idle Awhile- nice bar, good food, indoor & outdoor seating on the lake and live music.

Broccoli is listed as a side, but there is no disclosure of any upcharge. When I requested broccoli instead of rice, I was told there would be a $1.50 charge. The manager acknowledged the charge is not listed on the menu and stated that servers are expected to inform customers of the up-charge for "premium" sides. I chose to leave without ordering. If certain sides cost extra, the menu should say so. There should NEVER be hidden charges. Transparency matters.
