The Dr or PA provides some level of service and provides a printout after each visit, I've gotten good attention from the Dr or PA, but really it's the nurses that lead up to the visit that hurts them. At the end of the day Piedmont is a health service provider and when the nurses have an uncaring attitude towards patients it's noticeable. I've asked the nurse a few questions during while she was taking my vitals and completely ignored my inquiry. I have High Blood Pressure and knowledgeable enough to know the readings. The reading I received was completely out of the norm and advised the nurse that the reading is not normal, she should take it again. The look disdain on the nurses face when I advised her of the abnormal reading was unspoken verbally but loud and care in her facial expression like a mother staring at her child. Which is regrettable that of the 2 positive experiences I've had is tarnished by the 1 negative

Key areas: Getting refills promptly addressed via portal and without having to place a call to let them know a request has been put in. Ensuring the RIGHT medication is being refilled. Follow up- if there's an issue with insurance or payment or test results or prescriptions, you will not receive a call. You might not even be notified on the portal. To get proper medical service, the patient needs to be on top of them for all the above reasons. If you are an active and engaged participant in your own medical care and are willing to double check things, you'll be fine here. I can say that, for me, I've seen some improvement from years past.

They were good when I first joined years ago but in the past 3 years they have steadily declined. 1. Dr's / PA have quit. This is what made the practice great in the beginning. They cared and would listen and actually knew who you were and followed up. Now, you're constantly having to chase them for renewals, rx, approvals, diagnosis, next steps because they don't know you. RX aren't followed up upon or takes forever to get renewal, takes weeks to get an appt, months for routine appt, every year they tell me I don't need a physical exam when I use to have one at least every year and the pap every other year (it just feels like they just don't want to do it), dropped the ball on approving Rx, It could be that they are victim of their own success. Too many patients, even though they no longer take new patients. I don't ever see a Dr or a RN any more, it's always a PA. 2. Their front desk check in people are annoying. I feel like it's not a genuine atmosphere 3. Their Phlebotomist is rough when they take your blood and so grumpy when she does it 4. there is ALWAY ALWAYS ALWAYS an hour wait even if you get there 5-10mins early and checked in. Only way to avoid this is if you are the first appts of the day. 5.They tend to fob you off to specialists because it is "beyond their scope" but then don't recommend any specialists. Transparent about what is necessary for patients my age (under 30) and is practical with the advice that he provides. His team is absolutely incredible as well! Walking through the door you're greeted with a smile and pleasant greetings (Hi Amanda) and when having my blood drawn it was literally painless. I'm not one who is shy when getting blood drawn but I legitimately felt nothing from start to finish (Thanks Ashley!). Very professional team, extremely hospitable, and worth the drive. As someone who works from home there are few things like wake up at 6am to make a 45 minute drive but coming here is definitely one of them. I'm so excited to watch this practice blossom!!

We do things a bit differently and never once has Dr. Traxler been disrespectful about any of it. She even makes recommendations based on what she knows we are willing to do. Dr. Malcom Traxler (Yes the Dr.'s are married to each other) is my husband and I's Dr. He is very gentle, and listens well. He is conservative and does not jump to invasive approaches first. It is nice to be able to have the same practice for the whole family! The office staff is great, friendly, and treat everyone as individuals, not a number. They go out of their way to serve the patients. This is not one of those busy practices where you have to wait days or longer for an apt. You will see the same Dr. every time. They do have a PA that works with them. I have not seen her personally, but have spoken with her and she is very nice. She fits in well with the rest of the staff. For my large family I love getting personalized attention from the Dr.s and being able to get in quickly if we need to be seen. Often the same day. I can not say enough good things about this practice. I refer them every time!

I was "diagnosed" with a sciatic problem but with some prescription the pain could be eased. When the time to wrap up came she left and sent the Medical Assistant to inform me that a urine sample of was needed to discard a kidney infection, but I was not able to provide such sample at that moment, so I offered her to give me a recipient so I did not need to wait there all the time. The answer was that I needed to wait for a decision on that. After 20 minutes the Assistant physician came back and told me that my option was accepted. I asked if she had sent the prescription to my pharmacy but the answer was no. She needed to complete the visit once I came back with the sample. One hour later, I was able to produce the sample she asked for and her verdict was that no kidney infection was found in their lab. So I asked why she did not send the prescription before since the sciatic problem, I could have gotten the medication and taken it but in the meantime the my excruciating pain did not ease. To confirm, I asked if she was a Dr because I am not sure about what her title meant. She replied three times with the same question, that I asked to confirm that I had not been cared for by a physician. She got very upset and told me that a report was going to be filled with her physician and left the room.I left after her and asked what was going to happen with the prescription and the answer was that since I am leaving there is no prescription to be filled. The paperwork when you check in is full of repeated questions, even in the same page on one of the forms. That process cost me 20 minutes. The assessment performed for the diagnostic some other 20 minutes plus another 20 waiting for the approval of my plan to do not wait in the office. All that time, since 0930AM till noon and came back home with the same pain and threat to fill up a report just because that person probably realized that something was not done the right way. My initial doctor was Dr. Kang, who was super kind and helpful in determining my surgeon for my gall bladder surgery. The next appointment was with Dr. Michelle who happens to be an NP but she was EXTREMELY kind. I went in for heartburn issues and she seemed worried and concerned that I was sick -- something that most doctors don't do. Ever since then, I've been going to this office. I moved out of Johns Creek 7 years ago and have been living in Lawrenceville & Dunwoody, and I must say I am always impressed with this office.
