I have had very bad experiences with them, on hold for 30 minute's then a person just took a message never a returned call this happened April and May, was trying to get Dr Kemper to contact the insurance company for a prior authorization E males sent, their portal does not work, Really bad when a Dr does not follow up on the paperwork that he promosed, Tried first few days in June to see if I could get through, sent an E Mail to the CEO and he did not respond. I wish I could give zero stars to this practice and to the doctor I saw. I waited an entire month for an appointment with Dr. Song because I'd been dealing with a UTI for a month and did not want to see a PA or NP. I'd seen him a couple of years ago and everything went well. I was on a waiting list but never got called for an earlier appt even tho I told them I was having issues for 1 month. He spent about 15 minutes with me and he didn't seem to hear anything I said. He proceeded to make comments that made it clear he wasn't listening to me. This was a Friday. I was to be scheduled for a test 3 weeks later and over the weekend I decided I no longer wanted to use him. My visit was a month ago and today I was billed for something on top of my co-pay. Whenever you call the office you are put on hold no matter what the call is for and the recording says that if you don't want to wait you can leave a message and someone will get back to you. No one ever does. Today I waited an hour on hold!!!! Also, at the time of my visit on that Friday a special urine test was going to be run at my expense. When I called Monday morning no one could tell me how to stop the test from being run or what it was. I spent a couple of hours trying to find out where the sample was sent because I wasn't going to continue with Dr. Song. NO ONE knew how to find this information. Finally I was able to get someone who knew what the name of the test was and my own research on line enabled me to find the lab out in California since they are the only lab in the country that runs this particular test. Because of the time difference I was able to cancel the test before they ran it. Now his office is billing me for additional money even tho they can't tell me what it's for. I guess it's all about money and, clearly, this practice doesn't give a s***t about its patients. It's amazing that they can't even handle calls. I've since switched to Advanced Urology in John's Creek and have been overly pleased with the care I've received so far. read more

Just attempting to change a future appt and have been on hold for 17 minutes. My prior appt scheduling was the same way....on hold, the phones simply are not answered in an adequate fashion. I have an October appt and will likely follow thru then will move to some other Urologist. Their answering system stinks, requires all this info then you are put on hold. The PA I saw, Ms Banks seemed very proficient so kudos to her but the office admin staff acts like they care but Im unconvinced. read more

I have been waiting for 17 minutes to talk to someone without anyone answering but have had to listen to their same advertisements over and over. Dr Kemper is very good but the patient care in the portal or phone is non existent, disappointing & frustrating! made this appointment after waiting for one they cancelled in June. get there no one advised me they moved. the people in that office that moved in had papers made out to give to patients for their new address.. got to the new office and was advised it was cancelled because dr. was in surgery. I said why did you not let me know. she advised they call me and texted me. I asked what number they gave me my old home number I had taken off more then a year ago..I never got a text from them . if they were texting my old home number .they had my cell as my means of correspondence. I called my called my old number the new owner answered and she did say their were calls from a doctors office. .this is plain incompetence. you wait for ever to talk to anyone. .you want to hire these young people that could care less and advise me how many times thst called a wrong number never once looking further. you walk in you have two young teenagers . I am at the point where looking for a new doctor might me the best.so sad you have office people that lack professionalism. but the doctors are great . these young ladies need to know looking at a screen telling me they texted me many times were not even doing it to the correct number. I would not recommend Ga Urology maybe the actual doctors are okay but not the PA's you will more than likely see, I went in peeing blood. PA Ashley Wilson was really cold, especially when I mentioned I smoked cigarettes previously in college. She went on to tell me it could be a tumor or mass or just kidney stones. Lacked empathy and bedside manner and not sure why she would try to scare a patient by telling them repeatedly it could be a tumor. She could've just said we needed to rule things out. Told me they ordered a CT scan and that someone would call to schedule .. I never received that call the following week. I had to call and schedule myself, luckily I got in the next morning which was a Wednesday. Fast forward a few hours post CT, fever and vomiting so I arrive to the ER ..Turns out I had a bladder/kidney infection that turned septic. Admitted Wednesday, now it's Friday and she just now called to tell me about my scans. Had I waited for her call I would be dead. Trust your gut, if the doctor seems uninterested in your well being believe your gut! read more

Dr Sharpe and Dr Patel are excellent but the office staff are a joke. We've spent hours on the phone trying to reschedule a 2 week follow up (after surgery). appointment with the NP after it was canceled. (Received a text cancellation requesting patient to call and reschedule). First call took over 30 minutes to finally speak to a person. Was told I couldn't get an appointment for 2 months. I told them this wasn't acceptable and was told someone would call me back. 2 days later no one had called. After waiting another 30 minutes to speak to a person I was told no appointment was available for weeks. Several hours later got a call back saying the NP would see me the next day. I went at the appointed time and was told I didn't have an appointment but was scheduled to be seen the next day which was the ORIGINAL appointment that was canceled. What an unprofessional group. NP is very cold and always seems in a hurry. Wish I had read these reviews a few months ago. read more

Dr Chen is a very good doctor however my disappointment is with the scheduling staff. The person I talked to seemed unfamiliar with the procedure. After waiting on hold for a long period of time she answered and when I asked to confirm my appointment location; she went on to say the doctor won't be in that day we have to reschedule you. it took a long time to schedule a date and then I had to wait a few more minutes for it to be confirmed, after it WAS confirmed and the conversation ended I decided to check my email and low and behold the date was not the one we confirmed over the phone, it was a week later. We scheduled an appointment at Georgia Urology last May for an ultrasound and they wait until we get in the office before they tell us they are unable to do an ultrasound. At no point in the past year did they call us and notify us or attempt to reschedule the appointment to their other facilities that can do the ultrasound, which is literally the only reason this appointment was made. This is very unprofessional and not a way to conduct healthcare. I would go out of state before I waste my time with Georgia Urology again. read more

Georgia Urology Doctors and nurses are great. The admin office staff is a different issue. They are very disorganized. Do not ask a medical question if you want an answer within 48 hours. Getting the phone answered is also very time consuming-still waiting after 25 minutes. Have been transferred two times and I just got disconnected. read more

I started with this practice when they were on Spout Springs Rd seeing Dr Fisher. He is an excellent doctor but for some reason left the practice. The office staff were warm and friendly and took great care of me. Shortly after they moved their office to Friendship Road and they switched me to see Patricia Shelton who is a PA. She is very nice and knowledgeable but not a doctor. It's gotten to when I go there every 3 months to have blood work Patricia tells me the same thing each time. I'm having issues now and have tried to get an appointment with a doctor but they always tell me it will months and I can't see Dr Sharp who was of the original doctors at this practice. They merged with some other clinic recently and they went from roughly 8 employees to about 25 and instead of 2 doctors they now have over a dozen. The new staff are rude and uncaring. I am now looking for a new urologist. Georgia Urology has gone from treating you like a person to just another number. This is probably why Dr Fisher left the practice. It's been almost a week and I am continuously contacting GU only to be constantly denied and told they are waiting for a signature before I can have my results added to thier porta. Very disappointed with this office. I showed up for my appointment with my 6 year old son. We were running late, they took the co-payment and we sat and waited to be seen. Then after waiting 20 minutes we were told the doctor would not see us at all. Very unprofessional, they had me fill out paperwork and take my payment to then turn my away. Today was our first day to visit Gainesville office and our last. Two of the front desk employees were talking LOUDLY when we arrived and continued with their conversation while we stood there. After we sat down I was talking with my spouse about it and one of front desk employees LOUDLY interrupted our conversation and spoke disrespectful to me in front of entire waiting room of patients. I asked to speak to office manager and Becca stated she was "sorry " and would speak to Heather. After complaining we had to wait one hour before we got back. Now we watched other patients come in AFTER us go back and LEAVE before we made it back. We will not ALLOW others to be disrespectful to us and then we PAY them for poor service . read more

I went to Georgia Urology and saw a PA (A Ms. Vo) in the practice for a kidney stone. The PA sent me for a CT scan but told me it could be 72 hours before I could get a CT. I wound up paying out of pocket $400 to expedite a CT from an imaging center to have the PA tell me they could not see me back in their office for a week and a half. (Clearly this young PA has NEVER had a kidney stone)!!! Today after waiting a week and a half to see the PA again I was told that I did have a 2mm kidney stone but that could not be what was causing the pain because it was far too small and that "was not what I was feeling". I was told they wanted to see me back in three months and was dismissed. Mind you I have had a 7mm stone before and I am familiar with the pain. The young PA actually asked me if it was possible that if I could have just strained my back? I explained in detail that the pain was much about an hour after a meal and that at times it would bring me to tears. This PA had ZERO bedside manner and would not listen. Just continued to dismiss anything that i had to say. When I asked if if was possible to see a doctor, I was told they were three months out and that she would see me to the front to check out. DO NOT go to Georgia Urology. DO NOT see a PA. Insist you see a doctor is you have to go to this practice. In addition I was told that If I had any additional blood in my urine, I was welcome to come back. Trust me.....I will not be back. I am also a benefits manager for a large company in Lawrenceville. I can assure you that i certainly will not refer any of our employees to this practice. read more

My aunt was referred here for hospital follow up. upon my inital call to schedule her appointment I was told she would not be able to be seen until november mind you this was in august when I called. she was sent home from the hospital with a catheter. i had to get her pcp nurse and home health nurse invovled in trying to get her an earlier appointment so she could be seen to get them to write home health orders for catheter managment. I was able to get in in september. we arrived for the appointment. I explained we needed those orders i was told they would be sent that day to home health. the NP came in very briefly saw my aunt and said she needed this test that was going to have to drive 2 hours from my house to get done. it felt like we were wasting her time. well october passed still no orders. november and still no orders for catheter managment. between home health leaving messages and me staying on the phone for close to 2 hours only for the call to be disconnected. next day once again 2 hours only to be told the NP has not responded to the message. i'm like i've had to make 3 trips to the er to get the catheter changed because her pcp will not give orders told us to go to urology. and urology can't be bothered to send a simple order to home health. my aunt now has another uti. I think this office is way to big and has lost the meaning of patient care. I should never have to wait on the phone for almost 2 hours for someone to pick up the line. I know I could leave a message but the home health did that and got no return call, so I stayed on the line until someone picked up. My aunt deserves better care than this. so we will be going to another urologist. i truly hope georgia urology takes a minute to re evaluate and put patient care first. read more

The doctor that the appointment was with did not even specialize in what i needed and made the appointment for. Then they wanted me to see another doctor 2 months from now. Wow! I really wish that I had read the reviews here before my procedure. I would have gotten competent care somewhere else or gone out of the country for the procedure! So many, many BAD REVIEWS!!! Here's the survey review that I submitted to Georgia Urology when they sent me a survey request by email: Dr. Kanika Searvance. I really wish that I had gone somewhere else and/or went overseas for this procedure. My experience was horrible! First, I explained that I have a tendency to try to struggle and try escape when I come out of anesthesia. Old military escape protocols. I simply need to be restrained for a couple of minutes (like 2-3 minutes) while my conscious mind comes online then I'm fine. What these people did was OVERDOSE me with general anesthesia and kept me restrained during my recovery period! I've never had a problem with general anesthesia until this instance. I had so much trouble coming out and back to consciousness! I suspect that I was given 2-3 times the normal anesthesia and my recovery was delayed by hours until they could wheel me out of the hospital (much too early!!!). I then slept 22 hours straight trying to shrug off the effects of too much anesthesia and took me 3 days before I started feeling normal again. I would really like to sue you people for doing this!!! But damages would be hard to prove. So I'll just put justified bad review out there on the Internet. Secondly, I don't what the hell the doctor did but I peed blood for 3 WEEKS!!! At first I was losing up to a pint of blood per day. Then the intense pains started. Sharp extreme knife like pains in my right side kidney area. So much so that I would lock up and close my eyes and have to wait a few minutes for it to subside. What the hell was done to me??? The web talks about that there will often be a few drops of blood for a day or two after the procedure...WHAT THE HELL DID THE DOCTOR DO SO POORLY that I had all these symptoms? I was down for 5 five days then had these continuing symptoms for another 2+ weeks! I assessed that there was nothing to be done except for me to heal naturally. I did not call the doctor because I had lost all faith in her...She never asked me once how I was doing or if I was having any symptoms! How poor healthcare is this. She mis-scheduled my stent removal and it was delayed a week. Still bled heavily afterwards. Finally it tapered down! I did some walking and it came back heavily. So stopped exercising again and after a few days it started clearing up. FOUR WEEKS after the procedure I was still having incidents of significant blood in my urine! I didn't trust the doctor at all at this time and didn't want to be cut open to stop the bleeding and I had to work so I suffered through this all. All in all, this was a HORRIBLE experience and I regret ever having anything to do with this doctor and practice. I don't what she did wrong but it was significant and major! Thought about suing the hospital and the doctor and this practice but I didn't have sufficient documentable damage and suffering else I definitely would have! read more

husband had appointment for cystoscope and I had to cancel that appointment as he was on life support in PFH. one always has to make a deposit for their share of insurance coverage. husband died! I have been trying for a refund of that deposit since I cancelled his appointment. so far no deposit refunded, just a new bill from Ga. urology for 3 years ago. I paid my bill but they tell me the refund is tied up due to their failure to write a decent refund policy in their business. don't give them a deposit until day of procedure. phone work didn't do any good, patient portal was only contact til they closed his account. I'm an active 74 y.o. male and I had two procedures done by Georgia Urology in early 2024 that were both abysmal failures. Procedure one was for a hydrocele, and 10 months post op there is zero reduction. The second procedure was Urolift prostate surgery, and eight months post op my symptoms were far worse than before the procedure. The surgery was done under local anesthesia in their office and it was extremely uncomfortable. There were several other patients there as well, and it all had an "assembly line" feel to it. Every surgery carries some risk of failure, but the odds of two failures involving the same physician and the same patient in ten months are pretty slim. I tried to make an appointment to discuss both with doctor C. I was told I would need to first see his P.A. again. I have no bias against a P.A., but given the circumstances I believe it would have been appropriate for the doctor to see me. I have since gone to another urologist for the Rezum procedure (which was done under general anesthesia in a hospital) and both the experience and the results have been light years better. read more

This review is for the administration/billing department. My husband scheduled a procedure, and was contacted 1 week prior about how to prepare physically, but never contacted about payment until LESS than 24 hours before the appointment and we were told that in order to even confirm the appointment for the following day, they would need payment of $1900. We explained that with so little notice, we did not have that payment ready and were assured we would be able to make payment arrangements and he would still be able to have the procedure done. When we get to the office we're told nothing can be done and we either pay the $1900, be self pay, or reschedule. How can you call someone at 4:19pm the day before and expect payment by 8:00am the next morning. We were basically told upon arrival it was not their problem and there's nothing they can do. This also happened to another couple while we were in the office. There is seemingly no communication between departments, or someone giving out wrong information, and that is made to be the patients fault. I never leave complaints, but this is unfair to the patient. We assumed since we were never contacted prior to yesterday, we would be billed for the procedure. They tried to say they called and left a voicemail but we have NO record of it whatsoever-went back and checked multiple times, NO call or voicemail. Had we known enough ahead of time, it wouldn't have been an issue. The fact that it happened to someone else as well, seems to indicate an issue within their office/billing and communication. read more

They sent a false report in regard to my reason for not continuing with them that assassinated my character. My reasons were financial. They were inconsiderate when I told them of my limited income. They wanted to send me to a hospital for tests that would mean higher copayments instead of a less copayment free standing facility. This office opened up without being prepared and without being organized. The Braselton office is around the corner from me, but I've never in my life seen any doctors office so disorganized. I've called on the phone to no avail. It's always somebody who says that they cannot answer your questions because they're working from home and they transfer you only to get voicemails and never have a real person answer the phone. When the person finally calls you back, they cannot help you either. They just tell you somebody will get back to you and it's been day number four and no one has gotten back to me. I've even went to the office in person twice and they sat there and taken my information with about 50 people in the waiting Room, standing room only, and no one still calls back. I've had some abnormal test and my CT scan was not ordered with contrast. I feel that it showed distended gallbladder and that I should be referred for further testing or to a specialist to do an CT with contrast. Nobody shows any concern despite me telling them that I'm having extreme pain and I was fearful. I had a kidney stone. This is going in week number two and I still have no responses from anybody. One time somebody called in medication, but it was medication that I already have at home and that is not useful for my current situation. I have never seen anything like this. I just called today and they said the manager is kim Anderson and tried to transfer me twice and they told me they're only getting Voicemail and that she would call me back. Good luck with that. I guess I'll go back to the previous Georgia Urology that I came from. I thought this would be better Considering that I am proud of my own hometown of Braselton and all the medical offices that are being built and the hospital around the corner from me, but now I'm having second thoughts, and realizing that the Lawrenceville location is probably my best bet. read more

My husband was seen by Patricia Shelton (Braselton) on Sept. 13th to have additional bloodwork done for Prostate Cancer screening. Over two weeks later, no results, he was told the lab was backed up after we called to see what was going on. In the meantime, we have been to Advanced Urology (Dr. McCullough) and have had bloodwork, ultrasound, biopsy, results and a follow up appointment made. We still have not heard back from Georgia Urology. Read the reviews before using them. Extremely disappointed and sad they treat their patients this way. read more

This is not a review of the medical services. This is a review of the administration. This office is not at all organized. My number was given as a back up number for my husband. They called me--not my husband--and asked me, "Mrs. Harrison, we are calling to schedule the MIR for your prostate." Considering Mrs. means woman and women don't have prostates, I knew we were off to a bad start. Every appointment and every communication was an exercise in frustration. They would say to leave a message and never get back, etc., etc. Finally my husband got his MRI and then a biopsy. Of course we are taking all of this very seriously. We go in for the appointment to learn the results of the biopsy--and no one can find the results of the biopsy. A few days later the doctor calls with the results. She drops the "cancer" bomb on him and starts talking about options over the phone. Then he starts researching and we talk it over when I get home. We realize he has more questions. We call back the same day, and now they say it will be another three weeks until we can talk to the doctor again. The nurses were nice, I'm sure the doctor is competent, but the admin for this place absolutely stinks. read more

After my procedure, I can confidently say that I'd trust Dr. Song with just about anything. He responded to issues immediately, he made sure I was comfortable and feeling alright at all times, he persisted when things were tough (because my body decided to be a jerk about it) and he even demonstrated knowledge of peer-reviewed evidence mid-surgery when something happened and then took action on that knowledge. Yeah, I checked it when I got home and he was 100% right! All of this with a great bedside manner. Nurses and surgical techs were friendly and attentive. They're a busy place, so be proactive with their office regarding paperwork (HMOs are just annoying, I know) but the staff I talked to did care about making sure things got done. I regret to say that our experience has been disappointing. We felt that our concerns were not adequately addressed, and communication was often lacking. It was difficult to get clear answers or a sense of urgency regarding our situation.Additionally, follow-up care did not meet our expectations, and we felt like we were not being prioritized. While the staff was polite at times, the overall level of care fell short of what we hoped for.We understand that every office can have busy periods, but consistency and thoroughness are key in healthcare. Unfortunately, we did not experience that here and will be seeking care elsewhere. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for others in the future. read more

I have received very little care and attention. my pain has gotten so terrible I have missed work and can hardly walk, and Dr Corrie doesn't give two fucks about her patients. she refused to see pictures of the quarter sized blood clots coming out of my urine. at my last appointment she said she was going to connect me with the specialist and get back to me... crickets. Dr. Song (or maybe the office manager) has absolutely no respect for his patients. My initial pre-surgery visits were a long enough wait, but at least under an hour. He kept my wife and me waiting two hours for my post-surgery visit, then said it was too late in the day to remove my catheter, because the office would be closed if there were any problems. So he sent me home to REMOVE MY CATHETER MYSELF the next morning. My supposed 3 month follow-up visit was cancelled by doctor Song just a couple days before it was scheduled, even though they'd sent me an endless stream of texts asking me to keep confirming the I'd show up. Then they couldn't manage to squeeze me in until 6 days short of 6 months - for a 3 month follow-up! After showing up the requested 15 minutes before my appointment time and waited in line to check in. After that, I only had the patience to wait an hour today AFTER my appointment time. When they said they couldn't tell me how much longer it would be, I told them I couldn't wait any longer and left. I will NEVER go back to this practice! I've heard great things about Atlanta Urology should I need a urologist again. read more
