Great experience at Georgie's Diner! We he food as great and the service was just like "Mel's"!

Awesome breakfast place. They got our orders 100% right the first time and everything was delicious. We sat on the porch in the corner being socially distant enjoying every second...until they sat a couple with a toddler beside us. A wandering toddler. The parents were horribly irresponsible and allowed the toddler to roam around, standing behind my husband while he was eating and coughing. No wonder COVID is increasing. read more

Wow- so I am very critical of Greek diners, probably because I am Greek ?? I am not sure. That being said, this place is pretty sweet! I ordered two orders of bacon and 3 eggs over medium. The eggs came out as ordered and the bacon, beautifully thick cut delicious bacon came in abundance. 9 slices for 2 orders! I have come here off and on for years and the diner never disappoints. Decor- its a mock up of a 50's style diner. The restaurant has been here at least a decade but looks to be in good shape. There is nothing really like it, unless you count a diner in Ocala that is in constant disrepair by comparison. They play 50s and 60s music while you gnosh. The neon and mirrors that dress this place give it a pretty cool "destinations" feel. The diner has character in spades and is just pretty damn cool looking. The service is excellent for the price point and in addition to being a cool place to eat, it's a decent value too. Coffee 3 eggs and 9 pieces of bacon for under 10 bucks - awesome. They have some Greek food on the lunch/ dinner menu but it has been years since I have had it- not to mention there isn't much that is Greek that fits into my low carb lifestyle at the moment - but of course if you need a recommendation, the measure of awesomeness with Greek restaurants is always the moussaka. Wonderful, clean and friendly. The food here is of really good quality. Ordered a burger and onion rings. Burger bun was wonderful, lettuce was fresh and not just iceberg, and they used beefsteak tomatoes so all upper end ingredients. I don't like fried food usually but the onion rings are wonderful here. The Greek food and tzatziki is good and the only bad thing about it is that we were wanting so much more and sad when it was all gone. Highly recommend. read more

We came for the authentic Greek fare and Georgie's did not disappoint. Off the beaten path near downtown this old silver diner is a hidden gem. The Spinach Pie, Pastitsio, Mousaka, and Grape Leaves are all hand made with excellent flavors. The Greek Combo #1 is the way to go for your first visit. Enough to share. Amazing step back to a New York Diner scene! Amazing value Great Service! Will go back!

I've been coming here for years, so I don't want to give a bad review, but it seems every time I go back, the quality further worsens. This unfortunately speaks for the food and the service. The waitress was really friendly, whenever she came to the table, she just didn't frequent in showing her presence. I'll give this another try, and will have to place this restaurant on the back burner for a while, if I receive another bad experience. I hope that this place gets better, because just the nostalgia of being able to eat a 50s style diner is and has always been a pleasure to me. read more

Georgie's Diner is in an aluminum diner off the street near the San Sebastian winery. It advertises Greek and American Foods and it appears to be popular. We chose to sit outside since it was such a nice day. I got a Greek salad with gyro meat on top with a pita added. My friends got hamburger, Greek pie/soup, and a couple of gyro sandwiches! All were happy, meat was extra for my salad ($2) which there was plenty; the pita I was charge ($3)...which makes no sense!?! Anyway they took a $1 off the pita (which should have been free.) read more

Reasonable prices and good honest food. As with most Greek run restaurants the menu is put together by people that love to eat. Breakfast or lunch you can't go wrong. Service is excellent and no wasted steps. Hash browns were excellent. Fifties vibe in a very clean atmosphere. read more

Great breakfast venue, especially if your dog is accompanying you. Omelette's are always delish, fruit is always fresh and sitting among the flowers and plants on the patio makes for a perfect morning. Staff is great and always brings a water bowl for the mutt. Extremely disappointed with this diner. I wouldn't call it a diner with its prices or food. It seems the only thing that makes it a diner is the shiny metal building. Breakfast for two of us was over $30.00 with tip. My wife had Country Fried Steak and Eggs ($13.95). The steak was frozen and a white pepper gravy that tasted like it was made from a package. Her meal came with two eggs, hashbrowns and toast. Only thing homemade was the eggs. I ordered the Pork Chop Breakfast ($12.95). My meal came with one pork chop, 2 eggs, home fries and toast. My pork chop appeared to be about 4 ounces and that's being generous since it had a bone. The pork chop was seasoned well but sadly so over cooked, dry and tough. My eggs over medium were swimming in oil to the point it saturated the napkin I used to soak up the oil. Home fries were okay but both meals were only warm not hot. I ended up leaving both eggs on the plate as well as some home fries. The toast that came with our breakfast were not buttered when hot and so when we received it they were cold and wouldn't even melt the butter. The service was mediocre. We saw our server once after our food was delivered and this was when we had finished eating. We had to request more drinks and couldn't get extra napkins during our meal. It was pretty obvious our server had to many tables. She had many customers waiting on drinks, for her to take the order, and even the check. Quality and quantity of food doesn't match up with the expensive menu prices. It is very much over priced and the food is nothing to write home about. This will be a place we won't return to in the future. read more

Food is excellent and coffee is good. The waffles and pancakes were perfect and the pulled pork breakfast sandwich is one of a kind.

The service was quick and to the point, yet personable. My breakfast was tasty and fresh and of good value (one egg with sausage, toast and fruit) as well as the corned beef hash. However, my boyfriends eggs were very over cooked and he found many egg shells in them. This is a super cute classic diner with a patio! Everything is fast and not expensive. Good for those who get a late start on breakfast or those who prefer to skip breakfast altogether! read more

Good place for lunch around St Augustine. Place definitely looks like an American diner. Server was nice and helpful with our questions. The ambiance and decor are obviously cute and it's a clean place. It was a bit pricey, but sometimes you want something really enjoyable so you indulge. We were seated, gave our drink orders, received them, all of which happened quickly. Everyone was very nice. The only complaint we had was the food. We ordered breakfast which also arrived quickly. The food was a little bland but that was resolved with a bit of S&P- I'd rather than than too salty. The hashbrowns (actually the omelet also) were very oily, not buttery, you could tell oil was used. The oil taste was overwhelming and had an odd flavor. My husband ordered a biscuit which they heated on the grill and that ruined the flavor due to the funky oil flavor. Neither my husband or I finished our breakfasts, I couldn't eat my hashbrowns at all. When the server asked how the food was, I told her I was honestly disappointed. She was very apologetic and offered to get something else, which we declined. Again when our check arrived, she apologized. She was tipped properly because it was not her fault. It's not the first time we were disappointed, but wanted to give them one more chance. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

I've been coming here since they opened and it's reliable and fun. They've almost nailed the NY diner experience right down to the neon, advertising coffee mugs and Formica counters. They pay homage to that tradition in decor mostly. The menu is somewhat eclectic with a Greek influence. I steer clear of the Greek because I'm here for the greasy spoon experience. Pancakes late at night, fries dripping with gravy and patty melts are what I seek. The gem here is breakfast. While the menu is pedestrian the specials are usually worth a gander. The cooks are more creative than the standard menu allows. Portions are huge and it is 100% approved for your late night cravings or early morning recovery needs. They serve breakfast all day. The staff is attentive and the joint is clean. If you want breakfast is swing in. Also, they earned the 4th star due to the fact they serve pie. Pie always gets a star. read more

Great family friendly place just outside of downtown St Augustine, Florida. They are open 7am to 9pm on weekdays and 7 am to 10pm on the weekend. Their style is Greek food but they have all American breakfast offerings, pancakes, waffles, eggs Benedict. I had the French toast topped with blueberries. The pancakes were also delicious, as my daughter said "best chocolate chip pancake I've ever had" and she's had a lot in her lifetime so that's quite a compliment. I have to agree they were fantastic. Our server and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. I noticed the staff all worked together clearing each other's tables. It's nice to see a staff working together like this to get the job done. Nicely decorated as a 1960s diner. They have their own parking lot in the back which is very convenient. It's close to the Ice plant as well. Definitely recommend George's diner for breakfast, will be back to try some of their lunch dishes such as spinach pie and Lamb chops. read more

First off the waitress needs an attitude adjustment and a very very rough attitude. When she asked how many people in your party then rolled her eyes we should have walked right back out. The only reason she works there I assume it must be some type of family member because she has no customer service bone in her body at all.We all had omelettes the gyro one had way over cooked meat it was hard and crunchy and burnt/charcoal taste . The ham and cheese ones were also over cooked but not to the hard charcoal statues of the gyro meat.The home fries where forgot on the grill also burnt/charcoal on one side. The biscuits where ok grilled as they should be. I wasn't impressed at all with this place nor were the other people at my table. The food is sub par at best. Perfect aluminum old style diner. Great atmosphere, which was entertaining for my children who have never seen this type of restaurant. We ordered a sausage and cheese omelet, a bacon cheeseburger and kids chicken tenders. The children's meal was just as large as a normal meal. The bacon cheeseburger was perfectly cooked. This was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant. We ordered huevos rancheros. They came out and were really good, but we requested two sides of sour cream. We had to ask another server for the sour cream, because our server, Rachel never came back to the table to check on us. Rachel returns with one side of sour cream and one side of whipped cream. We tell her that it's whipped cream. She takes it away, but never returns with the sour cream. Never checks on us again, but checks on every other table in her station. Then, she walks by and drops off the bill, without saying "thank you" or anything. You pay at the register up front, so I'm not sure how she makes tips by not even checking on guests and saying thank you for coming. The only reason why I gave 2 stars is because the food was good. This was my second time here and both experiences have not been good, so I won't be back. read more

The old school Greek diner right off King St. has been on my radar for months. From the outside, you can't miss it. Wear your stunna shades, because this thing is shiny! The menu focuses on breakfast staples, soups, salads and sandwiches, all with a Greek spin. I love the booths, the artwork and the diner theme. The lemon rice soup was fine, a little bland, but hit the spot. The pita chips that came with were burnt. Luckily, there was prime soup dipping to salvage the situation. Service was a bit of an issue. The company that I was with, who are Old City locals, repeatedly said, "It's not normally like this." Giving them the benefit of the doubt with the three stars for this reason. I'd visit again, but waiting 15 minutes for your check is never pleasant.
