I was not a huge fan of the hash but I think it was very well made but it had green peppers which are not my fave. But I would highly recommend this place! Georgie's Diner never disappoints. There is plenty of parking. The decor has a New York vibe. The staff is wonderful, and while it gets very busy, there are benches outside where you can wait. There is also outside dining, which is nice when the weather is not too hot. Breakfast is available all day, and there are lunch specials that are fairly priced. I frequently order the salmon salad with the orange ginger sauce on the side. It was only $12.99, and it had a generous piece of fish , grilled to perfection. The Greek dishes are perfect too. The Chryssaidis family, owns the Athena Restaurant also, but it's in the city center, and it always tough to find parking. The diner is away from the hubbub. It won't disappoint. read more

I have to start out by saying their corn beef hash is phenomenal! Truly fresh corned beef with bell pepper, onions, and potatoes. From the first bite, you know this is homemade and it was outstanding!. I have become a snob with corned beef, hash, and I think I just found my favorite, worth a 30 minute drive for sure. Today we had the long-term server, Marcia, who was very knowledgeable but short with time because they were busy. She was friendly and helpful. The biscuits I have to say were not my favorite and I was not a fan of them. First, I don't like them grilled. I've never seen that before and second they were bread more than biscuits. I guess I'm spoiled because I like buttermilk biscuits and this was definitely not it. However, Marcia was very kind and brought me a biscuit that was not grilled however still was not a fan. There was a little bit too much baking powder in it because it had a bitter aftertaste. I love to feel at the diner, reminds me of those from when I lived in upstate New York. Old school diner vibes with some great bites! Stopped here for breakfast on a Saturday morning so it was definitely busy. They do have a parking lot but it is small. Might get a little difficult to find parking at times. The inside of the restaurant was full, but we were able to get a table outside. The outside area was very nice and clean. The breeze from the water also made it feel cool. The inside of the restaurant is very cute with a classic retro feel. Service is great and the staff is very friendly. They took our orders quick and checked up on us. Food didn't take too long to come out. I went with the special omelette which was gouda, ham, and onions. The omelette was delicious and extremely flavorful. The gouda was smoked, which added even more flavor. Very delicious. All the omelettes are served with an option of a side of hash browns, home fries or grits and choice of toast or biscuit. It definitely is a large portion and you will be full. Great spot! read more

A true Diner experience with a southern twist. I've been here before and the menus has been updated and the service remain intact. My wife ordered an omelette with ham, onions and Gouda cheese. The taste was soo good with the smoky Gouda. I had the classic eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was really good. My favorite is the grits but that's me. I'm a sucker for southern grits. I love trying out diner food in new places and Georgie's did not disappoint. They have a very lengthy menu with specials like lobster bisque -- something you wouldn't see at a regular diner. My husband and I went for brunch and we had a pretzel with cheese as an appetizer, which was really good. My husband ordered a lamb gyro and I had the corned beef hash with eggs. The amount of food that they give you is ridiculous (in a good way). We could have both just shared one dish. Both, the gyro and corned beef hash were delicious. My husband had some iced coffee and he didn't like it, so maybe there's room for improvement there. However, the food and the service were very good. I would go back there to try the lobster bisque and other dishes. Regarding the ambiance, we sat outside because we had our dogs with us. It was a hot day, but they had fans outside which helped tremendously. The server also brought a big water bowl for our pups. Having parking on site is also a big plus. read more

While out on the Trolley Tour my party of 9 was looking for lunch in between the winery and the distillery and found Georgie's. Small diner but was quick to accommodate the large party we were. Greek based so the tzatziki on the gyro (lamb! So tender so juicy) was phenomenal. Others had a Rueben (YUM), patty melt (YUM), chicken wrap (yum, but dry needed a liquid so add tzatziki), shrimp salad, (YUM). Fries, onion rings and tater tots are available. Rachel was our server. Finally made to Georgie's for dinner! After three plus years of fantastic breakfasts and lunches we decided to give dinner a try. It's a local hack for dinner during the crazy Night of Lights in downtown St Augustine. We love the classic diner feel right down to the local waitresses who will tell you what to order and how you want your steak cooked. Speaking of steak... oh my lord! The cut to order rib eye served medium rare is perfect. Served with homemade mash potatoes, skins and all, and steamed fresh cut veggies. Plenty of food for me and my husband to split when we added a Greek salad which is the real deal. Lots of olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese on top of fresh greens with Greek dressing. PS the Rose' wine is dry and delicious. You wouldn't think this diner would have a nice rose' but it's worth it. read more

This was my first time here and I am a local. I have been wanting to come in but the line is always very long. We came in on an off day for our city. My husband and I enjoy diner food and this was on the money. The cooks in the back worked really hard and the manager worked even harder to ensure food was expedited quickly. Everything we ordered was good and we finished our plates. The corned beef hash was finely chopped which for me was not the best way I like to have it. I prefer larger cubes but if you like this style it is for you. The resultant was clean and beautiful. I am a southerner and the biscuits were average in my opinion. They were large and buttery but it they were missing the lightly crispy outer layer that I enjoy. But I could tell there were many life long residents eating here and were very happy. If you love diners then this is your spot! Service was ok for sitting at the counter. Expected better. It was a bit slow -not the food just getting attention from the server when we needed her. Went there based on the Google reviews but after our visit, I question the authenticity of the high ratings others have given. Recommend you find a different place. The only positive thing about this place is the friendliness of the wait staff. First off, definitely gives the vibe of old time diner. Place seemed old and dingy which at first didn't bother us but when the old dingy appearance is better than the food, it adds to the bad experience. Don't know if the cooks were having a bad day but the food was terrible with an old greasy taste to the hash browns. Waffle had no flavor and the biscuits were burnt on the top. husband and I decided to stop here for lunch while visiting St. Augustine while walking to the museum. This diner had covered outdoor seating and we decided to sit outside, since my husband was using his mobility scooter and could park it next to our table, and the weather was very pleasant. The hostess was very nice and made sure the table was cleaned prior to seating us. After we were seated the hostess came and took our drink order. After we received our drinks we ordered food. I ordered the chicken wings and my husband ordered the steak sandwich with onion rings. The food was delicious and came out hot and fresh. We make it a practice when going out to eat to bring our own organic condiments with us that doesn't contain high fructose corn syrup and the chemical preservatives. I took out the items that we were going to use with our meal. When we were done eating as I was putting our condiments that we brought with us back in my bag apparently another server who was serving another table saw me putting my own condiments back into my bag and told our server that we were stealing the condiments. When our server came back out to check on us she said that "someone" told her that we were taking condiments off the table, implying that we were stealing. I told her that she should tell that "someone" that if she had a problem with me putting my own condiments back that I brought with me then she should have said something directly to me. Our server said that because whoever the other server was wasn't serving us came and mentioned to her to say something to us. I showed our server my bag of our condiments and let her know that we bring our own with us and this is the first time a restaurant has accused us of stealing our own condiments. She apologized if she offended us. Because of this experience I have mixed feelings about returning to this diner again in the future. It appears that there are servers working there that are bent on causing trouble instead of minding their own business. Whoever the other server was should have said something to me directly instead of being a coward and getting my server to do her dirty work, and then found out that she was totally wrong and inappropriate with her false assumptions. To the owner/manager of this establishment please say something to your servers about wrongly accusing guests of stealing because you won't get any repeat business. read more

They are parking lot is insanely small and you may need to fend off other cars to find parking but let me tell you it is 100% worth the hassle of finding a parking spot because the food is topped here. If you get here a little bit after breakfast, be prepared to wait because it seems like everybody in St Augustine knows exactly what this place is and how amazing it is because there is always a weight when we're here. It took a little bit of time to get seated however once we sat we were quickly given menus and our drink orders. I got a coffee and my wife got an orange juice, the coffee was brewed perfectly and it was dark but not too strong and the orange juice tasted fresh squeezed. I decided to get a egg sandwich that came with jelly smothered on the bread as well as two fried eggs bacon and hash browns, it was one of the most unhealthy yet delicious meals that I have had in a long time and at the price point of $10 usually can't beat it. Once we got our order though the waitress kind of disappeared so we had to flag her down when we were ready to order. Other than that everything about this place was amazing and it seems like everybody knows each other here.
