I recently purchased a car which had a couple of minor blemishes in need of repair. The dealership from whom I purchased the vehicle agreed to take care of a minor scuff on the front bumper as well as a scratched interior leather door panel. Since they were authorizing (and paying for) these repairs, they provided me with a list of Everett-area body shops to whom I could take the car. It was a very short list and I chose Gerber because they had decent reviews and were close to me. From the moment I walked in their lobby, I was impressed with everyone's friendliness, thoroughness, and communication. But here's the best part: the General Manager (Susanne) looked my car over and strongly suggested some additional work that the Dealership had not (but should have) authorized. Rather than just accepting this insurance claim and starting the work, she made a point of really analyzing the damage and suggesting what ultimately proved to be a much better and thorough repair. The car now looks wonderful and Gerber's work was perfect. I could not be happier. My only "nit" was they have an automated texting system that tells you the status of your vehicle. It was a bit kludgy throughout the process. For example, the day my car was finished, Susanne called me to say I could come pick it up. Their texting system texted me that same morning that the car wouldn't be ready until the following week. But I'm sure they'll work those systems out. I brought my Ford F-150 Lightning to Gerber Collision & Glass in Everett after an accident. The finished work was excellent -- the truck looks great and functions perfectly. My only frustration early on was communication. I received updates that didn't clearly explain what was causing the delay. Once I finally spoke with the Regional Manager, Joshua, everything changed. He took the time to walk me through the issue -- a batch of defective condensers that had held up reassembly -- and was very reassuring and professional. Once I understood the real cause, it was clear my earlier concerns were misplaced. I appreciate his honesty and persistence in getting the right part. Overall, great workmanship and service -- I'd gladly recommend this location, with the suggestion that they keep customers better informed during extended repairs. read more

I have used two different locations of Gerber collision for two incidents a year apart. The first, just over a year ago, was completed satisfactorily except the piece on the rear of the vehicle showing the trim level was on back order and would not be in for six months. I was told Gerber would call. One year later no one called and my vehicle is still missing the piece. About two months ago I needed another repair. When my vehicle was returned to me this time, the interior was filthy, trash was left in my car, and, again, the repair was completed satisfactorily except for a small piece that was fairly small and mostly cosmetic and I was assured the part will be ready the following week. Again, no call. This time I waited past the time I was told the part would be available and began calling to make an appointment to get the missing piece installed. The manager contacted me, assured me she would look into it. No return call. The manager, Lena, is now ducking my calls and is conveniently "in a meeting" and supposedly will call me back, which never happens. I would never use Gerber again. The lack of care for the interior of my car the second time I used Gerber, the convenient "out of a part" excuse that has now happened twice, the lack of follow through and avoidance by the manager, negates any positive things I have to say about the quality of the repair. I assume I will need to resort to the Better Business Bureau or a similar organization to force Gerber to have good business practices and a replace a relatively small piece to finish my repair. I have already contacted my insurance company about some of the issues so hopefully it will not recommend Gerber to customers in the future. read more

My initial review was almost immediately after receiving my car, and I was pretty upset with the treatment of my car. Charles reached out to me just this morning to apologize on behalf of the company and to try to rectify the situation. I really appreciated that they reached out to me after seeing that I was upset with the situation. I think it shows professionalism and that they do value what their customers are saying. I've been in similar situations where this definitely wasn't the case and I've been heckled by companies for leaving an unsavory review. He offered to replace the emergency kit that was stolen even though there is a chance that the towing company that held my car might've taken it and I really appreciated the gesture. Charles really did seem genuine in his apology and concern. I know my initial review was me riled up over the treatment of my car and I apologize for the harshness of it, but I really do appreciate the steps they took and are taking to make things right. After recently being rear ended, the insurance company (Safeco) I have to work with referred me to Gerber to obtain the estimate for my car. After 2 weeks of hearing nothing back, I contacted Safeco to find out what the hold up was. Turns out Gerber never sent over the estimate. When Safeco called Gerber to get the information, they claimed they never saw me or my car. When I went to Gerber for my appointment that day, a nice young man helped me out. I went out to my car with him, watched him take several photos, watched him record my car's VIN # and mileage and then went back inside with him and watched him enter all the information into the computer. Very strange that they say they "never" saw me. What an extremely unprofessional business. How is it possible that I called and booked an appointment and then proceeded to watch him take photos and enter my information - and suddenly none of the above is on record? What a waste of time! read more

Had repairs performed on my 1997 F150. There were three damaged areas repaired. The tailgate was vandalized, there was damage to the bottom of the body panel just behind the driver's door and a large door ding in the passenger door. The tailgate damage was part of an insurance claim. The other repairs were in addition to that. The repair work was okay. I've had better repair work done in the past. Two minor dents in the tailgate were not repaired, but they were not part of the insurance claim. However, they were painted over and were supposed to be repaired and it wouldn't have taken much effort to do so. There was one defect in the painted finish of the tail gate that was left there. Also, the panel behind the driver's door was damaged on the leading edge of that panel. That damage was not completely repaired. The defects in the repairs are not worth the time to have them repaired again. Most people would not notice the defects left in the repairs, but I have a trained eye and can see them when I look for them. Also, not all repairs were completed after three days. Understandable that some pinstripe decals are not immediately available for a 19 year old truck, so that part was not completed. Also, the passenger door ding was not completed as Gerber calls in a third party to perform those repairs. That party did not come by for the three days my truck was in the shop. I brought the F150 back about a month or so later for the finish up. I left the truck for the day. The stripe decal was applied and the door ding on the passenger door was repaired. Both the stripe decal and the door ding were done well. It was a large door ding and most all of it is gone. It is unrealistic to completely fix a ding like that using the non-painting method, but what is left is almost unnoticeable. My biggest problem was with the condition of the truck when I got it back after the first three day of repair. It was filthy. Yes, they washed it so most of the outside looked okay, but when the truck was left in the shop for three days they left the windows open and did not cover the interior. The interior was covered in sanding dust. They did try to clean the interior, but they didn't do a good job. The passenger seat and back seat was covered with sanding dust, the dash board still had dust on it, the carpeting had sanding dust in it, and the bed of the truck was full of dust which had not been cleaned at all indicating that there was quite a bit of it. I spent quite some time cleaning my truck when I got it home. That dust will be in many part so the vehicle permanently as it gets into all the nooks and crannies including electronics such as DVD/CD players, connectors such as USB and auxiliary connecters. Also, air conditioning/heater vents/ and intakes, perforated seats with air venting, and many other parts of the vehicle. Once that stuff gets in it will likely be there for the life of the vehicle. Electronics may eventually degrade and may fail. Sanding dust from many paints can cause many different types of problems. If the dust is blown around while the car is being driven then the occupants can breath it in as well. The only safe way to protect the interior is to actually protect the interior. Keep the windows closed and cover the interior with a tarp to keep the sanding dust out if the doors/windows are open or removed. For my repair there was no reason to even have the windows open, but with the amount of dust in there it looks like they were. Letting sanding dust into the interior by leaving the windows full open is not unique to Gerber. I've seen this at other body shops that do less than stellar work. It shows apathy on the part of employees and the shop management in general. Management is responsible for the quality of work which includes protecting the vehicle from the hazards of being inside a body shop. Reading another review on this page another customer had the same problem with sanding dust. So this is a repetitive problem. I'm going to have the entire truck painted at some point so I'm not worried too much about the minor defects. It's not worth my time to bring the truck back. These small repairs were also a way for me to determine if I will use Gerber for painting the entire truck. I will not be using Gerber for that for the reasons stated above. read more

After my BMW was in a hit & run and in need of some repairs I took it to Gerber to get the job done. I had my car dropped off and picked it up a week later looking like new! Their customer service was excellent, they kept me always informed of any new updates/delays and made sure all my questions were answered. It was a very hassle free experience as well which was really nice to experience in this situation. It really felt like the repair shop understood my best interests in making sure everything was done correctly the first time with the highest of quality and for that I am extremely thankful. If I'm in need of repairs again (Which I hope not!) I will definitely be going back to Gerber! read more

Today could have been avoided. Last week I stopped by Gerber Collision and Glass, said I need my windshield replaced. Could not get an appointment last week, so I got an appointment for today at 4 pm thinking I would be in and out in an hourish. After filling out paperwork a gentleman called my name and asked me if I needed a rental car. I was confused. I asked why I needed a rental, when a replacement should only take about an hour. He apologized quickly, pulled out a business card for CARTECH in Edmonds, told me 2 names of people to talk to, which I have forgotten because I am frustrated. I initially stated exactly what I needed from them and got an appointment and showed up only to hear basically, "We don't do that". SAD DAY!! read more

I have had my car repaired here twice. The first time was with me paying for a little bumper work after I hooked it on a curb when backing out from parking. It had separated the skin from the bumper. They looked at the damage and gave me a reasonable estimate for the clips needed to fix it. When I took it in, they completed the repairs quicker than they estimated and the cost was exactly what they said it would be. The car looked great and I was very happy with their work. Second time was when I was rear-ended at a red light. Took it to them for the estimate. The repairs were being paid out of pocket by the person that hit me so the estimate was sent to them. He approved the work and they started. They had estimated nine days for the repair so I got a rental car. They finished the car in six days and although the repair costs went up a bit (they couldn't see all of the damage without removing the rear bumper) it was still very reasonable (especially to me...I wasn't paying!). The car looks amazing. You can't even tell it had ever been touched. The new bumper matches the color of the rest of the car (which is 11 years old) and I couldn't be happier. If I ever need additional body work (and I hope that I don't) I will definitely go back to Gerber in Everett. read more

Update: I got into my truck this weekend to run some errands and it wouldn't start. Of course, I find this after they close on Saturday. The issue with my gas gauge was not fixed like I was told it was. There was also another issue that never got fixed. Needless to say, when I go on my break today, I'll be giving them a call. I was rear ended and hit the vehicle in front of me. I took my truck into Gerber to have it fixed. They had my truck for a while, but they did an AMAZING job. My truck looks brand new. I had two break-in with two different cars between 2009 and 2013. Both the times, I wanted to install the broken window myself. So, I shopped around for replacement glass windows. I got my new car's bumper smashed by a hit and run in a parking lot. Sad day for me! My insurance company had everything set up with Gerber over the phone. I took my car in the same day, dropped it off 2 days later when the part came in and the whole thing was brand new and gorgeous the next morning. Super nice staff and they even arranged a pick up for me at my house (less than a mile) so I could come get my car and not have to schlep in the rain. However, after talking to the manager when I picked up my car he explained that there were a few factors out of their control that made it much harder to get it done in a timely manner. Real bad service and would not use this company again... 1. I had to call them the day of my service and they told me they had broke the glass and would not make it, NO contact or heads up.. so then they said two more days for new windshield.. They called me the day of service.. The person was a little confused about replacement on windshield in the rain, received a call from a different person.....same confusion but thought we might work out a plan to meet at the Collision store and said would call me right back....NO call back so an hour later i called and cancelled service and YEP of course the glass person still showed up to my house later in the afternoon, NO contact or follow up.. I went on Gerber's website and got a quote for $192.54 to change the windshield in my car. I stopped at the Everett Mall Way business to make an appointment and was told they don't handle that there and to call a number for a mobile glass company affiliated with Gerber. I called that number and was quoted $267.00. Seems like the business practice is a little fishy with such a huge gap in quotes. read more

Asked for an online quote, and there ended up being complications with my location for service at my home. I called the customer service line to try to schedule to come to their shop. I had a feeling to ask about any additional charges, and there were for a seal (even though the quote said it included the seal) which brought the total to $60 more than originally quoted and the most expensive total of all the shops I checked! I am glad I asked the question before I was tagged with such a large unexpected charge. Businesses that hide charges worry me. I wouldn't usually write a review like this, but if you are working on a tight budget like me, you'll definitely want to ask them questions. read more

I was given the name of this shop by my insurance company after a rear end collision. Not only was I given a next day appointment for a quote.....but right after my quote I was told I could get my van into the shop to be fixed. The quote from Daniel didn't take up much time....was perfect. Daniel was professional and personal. The receptionist for the shop was also amazing, getting me set up with an appointment at the time I needed since I had 3 kids at 3 different schools and a husband on a military deployment. I had a quote done on the damage the person caused in my rear end. Then I had a quote done on some small paint damage done on my tail gate after a garage door closed on it and it was fixed with paint given to us by the dealership....that clearly was NOT the same color as my van.....and made sure to let them know it had nothing to do with the accident. We just wanted a quote since I was there anyways. I received a quote for almost 500.00 to fix that paint damage done by us. My van was turned in to fix only the damage done by the rear end since we could not get the other personal damage fixed at this time (a bit too much for a military family with 3 kids). When my van was to be ready I was told it would take a bit longer.......not only did they apologize but they offered to now have my van driven to MY HOUSE!! Two men showed up at my house right at the time they said they would.....I believe one was named Joe. Both were full of smiles. I was thanking them for taking the time to drive my van to me when I noticed that not only was the damage to my bumper (from insurance) taken care of.....but they fixed the paint job on my tail gate!! Almost 500.00 worth of work done for FREE!!!! The gentlemen said that they "work with USAA insurance a lot and just want to thank the service members and their families for their service" Oh My Goodness!!! This is the kind of people I want! Their work was not only quick, perfect, professional......but they had heart to go along with it. They appreciate the service our military members and families go through. I have posted on all military and civilian affiliated sites I'm associated with that this is the shop we all need to take our cars to! Thank you for your wonderful service......and you made a horrible situation into a miracle! My faith in humanity has been recovered! You are the best!!! read more
