I had hail damage to the roof of my BMW X3. They stated the moon roof ( sliding glass window) had to be removed to accommodate the repairs. When I got the car back, the moon roof never operated properly and after a while was unable to open. The fabric roof lining was filthy with oily finger prints everywhere. Nothing was ever done to fix any of it, despite several requests for attention. The service people were rude and non apologetic. I would say NEVER use this company for anything read more

My car was hit by a wild Costco cart. It left the upper panel of my trunk with what looked like a monster bite out of it! I was recommended to Gerber Collision and Glass by a family member. I was able to get my car fixed within 24 hours! The color matched perfectly which was very important to me! They even cleaned my car inside and out! Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Dishonest, Rude receptionist/ Customer Service, Unprofessional, unresponsive ( customer service And Management) will not return phone calls or provide status. They would rather push inaccurate automated text messages. I wasted over a months time waiting for next steps because they lied and never Communicated. My husband used this place to get tinting on his car earlier this summer so when I saw a crack in my windshield I thought I'd call this place first. Out of 3 quotes, this place quoted me the cheapest. I had a small, dime sized crack in my new (to me) car's windshield. I just noticed it and called 3 places for a quote. Glass America, which is the division of Gerber Collision and Glass that takes care of this sort of thing, quoted me $80 to fix it plus they would come to my house to do it. The other places I called had an extra fee to come to me, I thought this was great! Well, turns out, my crack had already been filled and must've been there when I purchased my car. It was small and I didn't notice it when I bought it so I thought it was new. The tech told me there is nothing he could do but I still owed $40 for him to come out and tell me this - he took all of 1 minute to look at my car. IF I had known this was a possibility, I would've brought my car to them to avoid a possible fee for nothing. Kinda sucks, I realize why they need to charge a service fee for coming to me. On the other hand, they didn't give me a chance to bring the car in either. I'm sure I wouldn't have been charged $40 if I brought the car in to them. Just bothered I have to pay $40 for nothing. read more

Slow as mud, don't keep you updated on repairs, don't communicate with you, miss parts, and don't complete the repair satisfactorily. It takes weeks to get your car fixed here and they won't tell you that when you bring it in. Then when it is supposedly done, you see that they missed something. I would never go back. read more

My car had been hit in the back at my old job and I had to put a garbage bag on the back window I brought it to Gerber Glass and collision in Naperville and Jackie and the crew did their very best they could to get a hold of the claims department of the person that hit me and went into gear on fixing my car they amazing job They were very nice very professional and very helpful they went above and beyond to help me and I'm very grateful! This will be the second time I've taken my vehicles to Gerber.  The first was to fix the back of my Toyola Corolla after someone hit the car.  The work was done in a timely manner, reasonably priced and the owner was courteous and answered all of my questions.  It is now 4 years later and the repair still looks great.  Now I am taking my 2019 F350 SD for roof and side repairs after a "meeting" with my fifth wheel.  My husband spoke to Rick and received a thorough  explanation of what repairs needed to be done, how long it would take and the cost of the repair.  He went over and beyond as my husband is scheduled for major surgery in one month and Rick was able to get my truck in for repairs in a timely manner.  I have been very satisfied with the work and the communication with Rick and the staff at Gerber in Naperville. read more

Very poor quality of service. How many times should a customer have to bring a vehicle back to a shop to get the job done right? Four times for me. I didn't mind that as long as the job was done right. Well... it wasn't done right at all. They gave my vehicle back with paint on the window, marred up trim and it appeared as though they sanded the fenders and put a clear coat over it. Finally I got it back and fixed right.. or so I thought. Only to find out months later that fasteners behind my door panel were broken. How sad? To pay nearly $3,000.00 and you can't even do your job right. WILL NOT recommend to anyone. I went here because the insurance company suggested it. read more

gerber consistently failed at every stage of the customer service and repair process. For openers, when I presented the damages to them which INCLUDED the radiator, I was dismissed by Mike S., rather than be a professional and say something like, "I will look into your concerns regarding the damages" I was put off and treated like I was trying to pull a fast one. There were several delays in the repair process and terrible communication as to the status of my vehicle. I would be told it would be ready on X day, but when that day came, I wouldn't be told until close to 4:30PM that "tomorrow" my vehicle would be ready. Tomorrow didn't come on three separate occasions. I had to constantly call to find out what was going on. I get the car back and notice that the front bumper does not fit correctly and looks poorly done. I call Mike S. and he tells me foolishness consisting of "...because it's an aftermarket part, it won't fit correctly." My car is supposed to look like it did before the damage happened! A further insult came when Mike S. was disrespectful to my wife when she brought the vehicle back for rework on the poor work that was done initially. He tried to talk to Nate about the damages to our car as if she wasn't in the room. My wife asked him was he talking about the car, he said yes without ever walking from behind his cubicle. She walks around to look at the photos he was showing to Nate and Mike S. said he can't talk about the vehicle right now because he was on a conference call. Yet, his conference call wasn't a deterrent when he was talking to Nate. Mike S. is rude, unprofessional and because of this experience gerber should NOT be a preferred shop of State Farm! Then, after I demanded a State Farm estimator come out and look at the damages to determine if the radiator and a/c condenser were related, they determine it was, like I said from the beginning. I made it CLEAR that I didn't want gerber touching my vehicle any further, because 1. I don't trust their work, and 2. they shouldn't get an additional payment on work they refused to do in the FIRST place. So, WITHOUT my permission, they did the work ANYWAY. To make things even worse, they call to tell me that the work is done. I find out that they did the radiator and condenser without my permission. I call State Farm to tell them what happened. The day the estimator from State Farm came out and determined that the damages were related, I told State Farm and gerber that I did not want gerber touching my car. I arranged for it to me towed to another shop, but gerber completely ignored this. Then, when I tell my wife the vehicle's ready (about 45 mins to an hour after I was told by Pamela that it was ready) she is a block away when Francisco calls to tell her they don't know where the key fob is! He told her he thinks the manager took it home with him and IS GONE FOR THE DAY! Are you kidding me?! WHY would the manager take my key home with him? Naturally, my wife and I were livid. Then, 2 minutes later, Francisco says the key is at the front desk. WHY wouldn't you make sure you have the key before ever calling the customer in the first place?? This is the worst experience I've ever had with a "body shop". The best part about all of this is I will never have to deal with gerber ever again. read more

Great work and fast service. I was able to get an appointment the very next day! Technician came out to my place of work to replace cracked windshield. He arrived well within the 12-3pm timeframe I had selected and work was completed within an hour. Price was competitive with other auto glass companies. read more

I took my car to another shop that had better reviews, but decided to give them a shot when the insurance company mentioned them and they were close to my home. They were awesome, start to finish. They stayed in contact with us throughout the process and the work was very high quality. The turnaround time was less than two weeks, which is impressive for the amount of damage sustained. Not only was Jim kind and professional, but after seeing the damage to the car door Jim immediately went back into the shop, retrieved a tool, and made an adjustment so that the metal no longer rubbed the door which was making noise. Went I went to pick up my car the paint job was substandard and they had to repaint the door. When I picked it up after it was repainted the window trim was dented. They said they would order the piece and replace it. This was six months ago and I still don't have the part - despite going back twice. The facility in Downers Grove is much, much better. The customer service was timely and courteous. Very important to me, because I am a retail store manager. My schedule is wonky, to say the least. The folks at this Naperville, IL Gerber treated me great and did a great repair job on my Hyundai Entourage minivan. They gave me a good quote, then worked with me to save some money because I was paying them, not insurance. They gave me an estimate for how long it would take, and I was pleasantly surprised when they called me with my van finished AHEAD OF SCHEDULE and UNDER BUDGET! They send texts to update the status, they were very nice to work with, and I highly recommend them. Nice job, guys! The van looks great. Lifetime Gerber warranty is a plus.
