I am absolutely so satisfied with the service here at Gerber Collision and Glass in Orangevale. The help by Greg, Chrissy, Oscar and all other staff has been outstanding. My car was in another shop for quite some time, letting my car just sit there so I decided to take it to Gerber and they were able to help me right away. My cars sunroof shattered and they were able to fix it within a short period of time, within a couple of days. They took great care of my car and kept me updated within the whole process. They worked with my insurance company to help me cover the cost of the repair, and great thanks to Chrissy for making me feel at ease, as insurance companies can be such a pain to deal with. I am adding to the review I made April 9th... I have changed the rating to a 3 star. The info listed in that review still is accurate. Since that time Gerber helped my wife and I successfully get the ACC back up and running. It was recommended that we take it to VW dealership. We selected Niello on Arden way. I am going to review Niello later. They were exceptional. It turns out that the radar unit was not damaged but simply needed to be recalibrated. Once that was done it worked perfectly like it did before the accident. In the diagnosis that Niello did at the end it says "When the bumper is removed the ACC will always need to be calibrated." With the front bumper and grill being removed as part of the repair that describes the conditions that requires the calibration. It took multiple phone calls to get this info from Gerber. On our initial calls on the problem their response essentially was "they couldn't trouble shoot or fix the system, we are not set up or authorized to work on that." with that being the case it should have been clearly explained to us at vehicle pick up. Furthermore Gerber should have coordinated with CSAA (AAA) to get that set up and take the car to VW for inspection and possibly repair. That did not happen. That was put on us. When we took it to VW we had to pay out of pocket ourselves and then get reimbursed. Luckily AAA was not a hassle to deal with and is sending a check on Monday. What if AAA refused to declined to accept the inspection findings? Then we are fighting with them and probably having to deal with my insurance company to get the additional repair paid. That would require a deductible to my insurance company. A subrogation process would ensue with AAA which is not a quick process. After that is all complete we get the deductible back. That is a very standard practice in the insurance world. Gerber should have known this from experience to address that from the beginning. On newer cars the advanced systems are common. It should have not been put back on us to figure out and get fixed so the car can be returned to the same condition prior to the accident. While all is back to normal. It could have been so much easier with a few extra actions on the part of Gerber. read more

The staff was extremely friendly and efficient from the time we walked in the door to picking up the completed vehicle. They kept us informed of every detail from start to finish, helped us with our car rental pickup and return. The vehicle looks wonderful and to our surprise, the vehicle was cleaned inside and out as if it had been professionally detailed. It looks fantastic. The car was completed even sooner than promised. I came in for a relatively minor collision repair and was told it could take up to 5 business days. They were able to repair the damage in 3 and kept me appraised of progress the entire way. I had a piece of molding ripped of my car when I clipped a log. My husband ordered the part which attaches with clips but discovered that the door had been slightly dented so it wouldn't clip on. The estimate from Gerber was over $900. A couple days after receiving the estimate, we received a call from the office saying they could reduce the price to somewhere in the mid-$800's. Why wasn't that the original estimate? In addition, the person who did the estimate had one of the workers come look at it to see how many hours of labor it would take. The guy said between 5-6, but the estimate was written for 6. We asked if the time would be prorated if it ended up only taking 5 hours and the estimator said "No, that's not how we do it". What?! Isn't labor supposed to be real time? Anyways, we ended up going to Caliber Collision down the road and they did the fix for $99! They simply pulled the dent out and popped on the piece. We did not feel comfortable at all given this experience and would suggest going somewhere else. read more

I brought my car to Gerber Orangevale after a truck hit and ran my car. The side door was bashed in the front fender partly ripped off. The shop said it would be twice as much to order a new fender, so we got a new bracket and reattached it. After all the repairs a week later the car looked pretty good. The paint didnt exactly match and they forgot to attach the trim. About six months later the front fender began to fall off. The front desk said bring it in its under warranty. When i got there the shop manager said we will have to order a new fender and we wont cover this. Leaving me with the same problem I came in with in the beginning. They do not honor their warranties or guarantee or follow up on their work. BEWARE read more

I thought communication throughout the duration of my car getting repaired was fantastic. The actual body repair looks brand new. My only issue is my blind spot sensor is not working properly after my car was repaired. I let them know, and I brought my vehicle back in, but the report stated there is nothing wrong with the sensor. And since the last check up, my sensor turns off every few days at random, which is very frustrating since it never had issues prior to the accident. I was told I would get a call from whoever checked it out so I could ask questions, but that call never happened. Now, I will need to take it to the dealership to get fixed and pay out of pocket.
