3. Still waiting for my microwave to be fixed!! Almost 2 months now, Gerhards appliance repair company "Fast Appliance" has come out several times, said they were waiting for a back ordered part, part came in a week and half ago and it was the wrong part that was ordered. I have received no calls letting me know when these new parts will be in. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND PURCHASING FROM GERHARDS OR BUYING A KITCHENAID PRODUCT. The microwave was one month old when it stopped working. This is unacceptable. The customer service from Gerhards and KitchenAid is unprofessional and they could care less once the sale is complete. 2. We received our appliances mid November and about mid December our KitchenAid Microwave stopped working, I called Gerhards and they sent their appliance repair company out who was here for over an hour and then told me the microwave had to come off the wall, I told him we would take it down, he said he did not have time so we had to wait another week, at this visit we were told it needs a part that is back ordered and no idea when this part would come in. I called Gerhards and requested a new microwave, they said a request was sent to KitchenAid, I have had to call them every week since the beginning and there was no follow up attempt made with me. I stopped in the Doylestown store last night and spoke with Jason, he basically told us there is nothing they can do as there is no update and they have no idea when this part would come in, as he knew how upset we were regarding our experience with Gerhards to date, on our way out the door he said Happy New Year, completely unprofessional and rude. Purchased my entire kitchen appliances from them several years ago and was very pleased. On October 16, I went and purchased a new washer and dryer. I was told that they couldn't deliver until October 21st. When they delivered on the 21st, the dryer door was shattered. We, of course, refused delivery. I immediately called the store to get a replacement. I was told on that day that they had plenty of stock but unfortunately they don't deliver on weekends so the earliest I could get it would be Tuesday, October 25th. I called at 9:00 on Monday, the 24th to set up a delivery time. They,of course, had to call me back. Brianna informed me that they would deliver the new one on Wednesday, October 26th and that I would receive a call Tuesday afternoon to confirm a timeframe. Never received a call. Called 9:00 Wednesday morning and spoke to yet another salesperson. That person told me that Anthony or Kelly in delivery would call me back in 10 - 15 minutes. No call. After 4 hours, I called back and spoke to Kelly in delivery who proceeded to tell me that "someone" from Doylestown was supposed to call me and discuss "options." She then transferred me to Doylestown. So now I'm talking to someone in Doylestown who says she doesn't know why they transferred me to their store and there is no record of a new dryer being "ordered" and was there a convenient time NEXT WEEK for me to schedule delivery. I have no dryer....washing my clothes and hanging them on my fence to dry...which is impossible in this weather. Absolutely no one in Gerhard's has taken responsibility and doesn't seem in any hurry at all to get me my dryer. It's a shame... I like to shop at local family owned businesses instead of big box stores but will never go back to them after this experience. read more

My interaction with Gerhards is kind of bittersweet. When I first came into the store I knew I was looking for Speedy Queen washers as they were the ones I needed because they broke down and assembled for tight spaces. I told the sales man my basement door was 23 1/2 inches. He told me there machines broke down to 24 inches, and proceeded to show me a portable washing machine. It was small and had wheels totally not what I was looking for. I walked around the back of the store looking at the SQ's they had on display and I took pictures so I cld have the model numbers etc. So I said do you guys do measurements he said yes so I set up an appointment for them to come take measurements so I cld be sure. That was a week out appointment. They came took measurements and assured me they would fit. I called the store to order my machines and I ordered the 300s as I wasn't looking for anything fancy BUT he never explained to me the difference between the 300 and the 500. The 300 has a lid lock and the 500 doesn't. My machines were delivered the following week only to realized it wldnt fit and I had to have the frame removed. My father in law and husband cut the frame brought the drum downstairs the same day. I called customer service back to have them return to finish setting up my machine and they told me They cldnt come for another 6 days. They came back to install the washer and assemble it back together. I wish my sales person wld have explained to me the difference because I hate that every time I wash a load the machine locks and I can't open it to check the water level, soap level, can't open to arrange the clothes or add more clothes. Basically it's annoying as hell too have paid 2300 for these machines and have to go through this. I have two dents in my dashboard where the knobs are and a crease on the side where they bent it to bring it downstairs I guess. I was relieved when this 3week process was over and I didn't have to go to the laundromat during covid anymore. If I didn't have such a hard time getting them downstairs I would have definitely returned this machine for the 500. So anyone reading this review spend the extra few bucks cause the lid lock feature is annoying and was put in place for people with kids which I do not !! read more

We needed a new double wall oven. The purchase and delivery went well. But I also paid for installation, and extra to have an eighth of an inch cut to extend the height of the opening. When finished there was a 1.5" gap between the new oven and the wall (the old oven was wider). They left the gap for me to fix at my expense. This is not what I expected, and when I complained I got zero explanation or satisfaction. So don't expect a complete installation from this company! read more

Fast forward to last week when it was delivered. The dryer was damaged, I asked the delivery person to take it back to the store... they refused, however did take pictures of the damage. I called the salesperson I had worked with (Justin), he acknowledged the damage and the pictures that had been sent.... offered no solution, told me he would get back to me. It's now been a week, a call to Justin and a call to a Sales Manager (Matt) and there have been no return calls, no offer of a solution. In my opinion, Gerhards is not a vendor I would recommend, certainly will Not purchase my kitchen appliances from them. My advice? Shop elsewhere... read more

Where to start. I needed to replace my washer, spoke with David and placed the order. Mind I already have a set in my basement, which were brought down recently after a reno. The new washer was the same size. Well the delivery guys decided they couldn't bring the new one in, nor take the old one out, because it was too big for the stair passage. Then they left the packaging from the new undelivered washer on my sidewalk. Finally I found what I needed elsewhere (Gerhards didn't have anything in a slightly smaller size, but Best Buy sure did). So I tell them, look I'm sorry it didn't work out, but I'll need a refund. I had to call for 3 days chasing down my rep, being told that the manager was nowhere to be found, then I needed to speak with Accounting. The woman in Accounting finally calls me and says, she can't credit my card with the sale, she'll have to mail a check. Here we are a week later, and - you guessed it - no check. So now I have to take time out of my day to file a report with my bank and get my money back that way. Do not bother with these guys, they're awful. Never again. PS, the delivery guys from Best Buy were AMAZING and easily delivered a new washer, and removed the old one, handily. This is an update from my review of Gerhard's in Ardmore, which I wrote 2 months ago. At that time, I said that the service we received when we attempted to buy appliances through Gerhard's was so bad that I had decided to order online. I did order online directly from Samsung, and spent over $7000. Samsung kept in touch with me and my appliances were delivered 3 days ago. We said we didn't want the appliances delivered until February, since we would be out of the country until then. Gerhard's said they couldn't possible get the items to me until "at least April" but Samsung direct made the delivery in mid-February! My delivery person came when he said he would and my installation was flawless, and I even saved money by ordering direct from Samsung. read more

Always a positive experience. I get helped immediately when I walk in the door. The people are knowledgeable and provide excellent assistance. Once to help me get a rebate that came with a gas grill that I had bought, and then this month when I came in for a refrigerator. With the fridge I knew the features I wanted and was helped with practical information regarding some possibilities and features to compare, pros and cons, and necessary measurements for getting through the doorway into my house. I am happy with my purchase and that the fridge was delivered two days later from the warehouse. The delivery people were efficient, careful, and helpful with getting the new fridge set up and taking the old one away. read more

Yikes. Lots of 1-star reviews on here, but our experience has been nothing but 5-star so far. Everyone we dealt with in terms of shopping, ordering, and delivery have been great! As someone who likes to get a hands-on shopping experience when it comes to things I'll physically interact with for years, we decided to go out to Gerhard's Ardmore location and see if the items we liked during our online shopping were just as appealing in person. It ended up being a valuable trip, both emotionally and financially. First, the store isn't huge, but they do have a nice selection. Their high end assortment downstairs is far more impressive, but we weren't quite ready to splash that much cash, and gas wasn't an option. We had gone in to look at KitchenAid appliances, thinking that was the route we wanted to take, until we interacted with the appliances and realized they didn't feel worthy or the price tag. That meant we could save a ton of money! We pivoted and then thought we were going to go with GE across the board and an induction range when we left, but didn't commit at the time. We had dreaded interacting with the over-the-top salesperson we assumed that we'd encounter, but Dave C was really friendly, helpful, and not pushy at all. We came in as fairly-educated customers, so we only needed him to entertain the few questions we had, check stock, and put together a cost estimate. The store was understaffed that day and quite busy, but he was able to still provide enough attention and demonstrate the type of knowledge that would make us feel comfortable if we purchased from Gerhard's. He didn't try to steer us into a particular brand or anything. Just focused on what WE wanted and needed! Dave didn't have time to put the numbers together right away, but he sent them in a timely manner once the store calmed down a bit. Prices were in the range we expected. No surprises, but we weren't in a rush and continued looking. Upon further research, we pivoted again, nixing the induction range and switching to Whirlpool. We did so without another trip to Gerhard's or speaking with Dave. I think we just didn't want to be those annoying customers who kept making him run numbers. We had some coupons and opted to just order from Lowe's. I wanted to shop local/small, but the few hundred dollars in savings and what we assumed would be a more easily-fulfilled inventory from a "big" company seemed a win-win. That was, until our order never arrived and the debacle that followed ensued. You can read Faith A's review for the details. Needless to say, we were left without appliances, and thankfully, we still had Dave's quotes and contact info to reopen discussions. My wife called Gerhard's to speak to Dave. He wasn't at the Ardmore store, but their friendly staff told us to call their other location where he was that day. We did, and Dave surprisingly remembered us immediately! From there, we told him we had changed direction and gave him the list of things we had ordered from Lowe's to see if Gerhard's could fulfill the same order. They had everything except for the dishwasher in stock, but Dave was very helpful in finding us a comparable dishwasher that we'd be happy with. He hung up and pulled together new pricing, which was about $500 more than Lowe's, delivered. After the nightmare of dealing with the failed 3rd party delivery service (XPO) that Lowe's used, we were extremely excited to find out that Gerhard's had their own delivery people. We saw this as necessary now, knowing that accountability was going to be held across a single company, not divided amongst many finger-pointing entities. The order was placed, and delivery date was set! If all went well, the extra money would be well spent. It was. The day before the delivery, we received both a text and a phone call to confirm the delivery window. They called when they were close and sure enough, they showed up on time! Not only that, the delivery guys were both super friendly and got everything in without issue. They were outgoing and professional, and even pointed out a minor ding in the fridge that they noticed during unpacking. Having watched their unloading from truck to install, I knew it wasn't something they did. They told us to note it and call Gerhard's, which we did. Gerhard's was really apologetic and still continues to offer to replace the door. We are debating it, but even if we pass on the offer, their concern, and willingness to fix the such a minor thing, is really nice to see. This experience simply reminds me that supporting local, smaller businesses is worth a little extra in cost. Dealing with Dave & the Gerhard's team was infinitely better than an automated system that directed us to a nationwide network of unaccountable & unhelpful employees. We can only hope this is the norm for us and anyone else we recommend, and we will certainly shop there again when the time comes! Thanks Dave & team! We can finally cook again! read more

Stay away from this place. First they delivered a "new" washer that was clearly rusted on the inside. Had to wait for days for the mechanic, who came and played with my cats and left mod wash cycle. The pictures below are after I scrubbed it out and ran it four more times. Cut to delivery of the second unit and the third day taken off work. Picture of the "new' unit that the delivery people wouldn't even bother installing. Nor would they haup away the first rusty bucket of trash they sent over. Poor service. We purchased a Ssmsung refrigerator and an LG washer and dryer from Gerhard last July. A few months later, the washer went on the fritz, so we contacted the repair service Gerhard recommended. There were lots of delays and excuses until we finally gave up and purchased a new one. The delivery persons were rude complained about having to carry it up to the second floor and then refused to install it on the pan. We had to hire a plumber to install it on the pan. A few weeks ago, the refrigerator quit, and we had to pay $400 to get it fixed. The repairman said it was probably damaged during transit. read more

Some of the worst service I have received in a long time. Appliances needed repairs after a month. The store would not return. Microwave was installed over the range and the door would not open. Scheduled a service appointment two weeks ago for today. Just called the service subcontractor to confirm time only to find out that Gerhard's cancelled this appointment ten days ago, and never followed up with us to reschedule. read more

As much as they have great selection, they lack any structure customer service. They don't seem to really be concerned about the service they deliver. They never respond or call back as they state they will, and work in silos. If you have any needs or issues, they will blame other departments within the business, rather then solving the issue. So very disappointed in Gerhard's. I've been purchasing our appliances from them for 25+ years...the past 2 have been damaged so they offered a minimal "discount" on the spot if I accepted the delivery. Most recent delivery wasn't even the appliance I had ordered (very specific measurements were written to be sure it was correct)...wrong size refrigerator. Since my old fridge was already on the truck, the delivery person told me just to use the new one until a replacement was found. I left messages & emails with sales person who finally responded with just a link to the one refrigerator they had and said "here is your option". Well, considering I had nothing else, I had to take it and it's so much smaller than what I had been sold in the store. In addition, I was told NOT to use the refrigerator left at my home. Hmmm....3 days without a refrigerator is tough, especially in the summer with a family to feed. I'm not one to complain about everything, but Gerhard's really disappointed me this time. Looks like I must find a new appliance store to find a replacement refrigerator that will actually satisfy my family's needs and put this smaller one in the garage. read more

I don't think this saga will ever end. After refusing to give me my money back they attempted to deliver and install the dishwasher again. This time when they unwrapped the dishwasher it had a huge dent in the front. Obviously we are not taking a dishwasher with a big dent so again the left with the dishwasher. We are going on 4 months with no dishwasher and about 8 visits by repairmen and installation people. When they called me to try and reschedule I explained to the person that I want a refund as it has been a year of she said there's nothing she can do and I asked to speak to someone who could help she advised me to call my salesperson (who has been totally non responsive in the past). After telling her I want o resolve this matter now and didn't want to call him she said theres nothing we can do and hung up on me. One year of a faulty dishwasher and 4 months of a broken fie hazard and still the only way I Can get any helpful response is leaving a bad review. First negative review for me. This is possibly the most dishonest business I have had the displeasure of doing business with me. We purchased Thermador appliances before the pandemic. They assured us that the appliances would be held at their facility till our construction was completed. I asked twice. Should I come back closer to the date we need them. Answer from MA. Absolutely not. Fast forward to today. I still don't have a properly installed hood. They have accused us of a laundry list of thing. Accused of not paying for items. Sending us additional bill. The items were paid the date we ordered them in 2019. Now they refuse to reimburse us for the hood pieces that were not installed. They no showed to installation dates. Zero recollection of the issues. It took the almost two years to find the to find the stove. The one that they had in stock. Btw. They don't store anything. They just want your money. While the appliances have performed well, various issues with delivery, installation, and overall customer service, too numerous to write here have been awful. We needed a new range over the holidays and called the Malvern location. It was a higher end range and they were more than happy to work with us. Was about to leave a great review but...when they installed there was a huge gap behind the range and they told us we would need someone to come out and move the gas line. We did. I called Gerhards to get someone to come back out to finish the install and crickets. We also got a free appliance with the range so we picked a hood. That has been nearly impossible to get scheduled. Its been about 6 weeks or more and still emailing. The crazy part is I am working with the owner! read more

We ordered a dishwasher, refridgerator, microwave, range and washer and dryer. Several of the items were on track for delivery on Thursday 04/22/2021 and was able to track where the delivery truck was throughout the day since we did not every receive a text or a call regarding our set delivery. Our scheduled delivery was between 1 and 5pm but it showed delivery time would be between 3 and 3:30 pm. While tracking delivery we kept seeing our delivery time kept getting pushed back and the second to last time I checked you could see the delivery truck was on Route 309 3 miles from my home and delivery last update was on track for between 4 and 4:15 when that time came and went I looked again and then it was pushed to 4:15 until 4:50 pm. 4:50 came and I checked again to find delivery was cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. Still no call or anything from anyone at Gerhard's. I called the store and spoke to the Manager who was none helpful and stated there was an emergency with one of the delivery guys so delivery was cancelled and I kept stating that why have I not received a call as if I would not have been tracking online I would not have known and would still be sitting here waiting for delivery. She did not seem to care about how this change effected the customer and did not even offer me anything to make me happy. I was very upset and stated that maybe I should just cancel all the items I ordered and that also did not bother her. After getting no where with her my husband worked with her to get items delivered to us the next day (even after explaining that we just had driveway redone and this would be an issue for the delivery guys). I took the delivery of the 3 items that were in stock but decided to cancel my washer and dryer order as I will no longer purchase anything from this store - no care for their customers and obviously do not mind losing money. Gerhard's sells broken products they do not stand behind. I purchased a new refrigerator from Gerhard's that was delivered broken (regardless of the temperature setting, it freezes everything). It's now been 4 weeks including 1 failed repair attempt, and they still will not replace the refrigerator. read more
