This business is THE BEST when it comes to customer service! We are right now getting delivery of a new GE fridge to replace the Samsung that came with the townhouse we bought in 2020. The people who work here are knowledgeable and very helpful. When we moved here in the summer of 2020 during covid, they sold us our GE range and Kitchenaid dishwasher. I shopped for a new gas stove and refrigerator and was referred to Hendricks. I was not disappointed. I bought these items in the spring of 2021 in the middle of supply chain problems. My range arrived as promised and the refrigerator was on back order and I was offered the floor sample. Both appliances were delivered and installed and the people that delivered and set up each appliance could not be more accommodating. Moved up to the area in 1998, and encountered Hendricks not long after. They respond promptly to phone messages, if they don't pick up themselves the first time, and call back when they say they will. They come when they say they will come, and call the day of the appointment to give you schedule updates. Repair work and installation are done cheerfully and professionally, and while the prices aren't as low as at Home Despot, they are far from unreasonable and the people know what they are doing. I have been buying appliances from Hendricks for close to two decades and have had nothing but great experiences with both them and the appliances they sell. They carry a broad range of lines from major manufacturers and if you go to their store, they take the time to discuss the pros and cons of every single item and to help you make the decision that is right for YOU. They have a limited number of floor samples, but can order whatever you decide on and will deliver, install and take away the old one for FREE. I bought a dishwasher from a big box store about ten years ago and found that by the time I go through paying for the installation( extra stuff needed to be done) and delivery, I would have done better at Hendricks. I've never strayed off the reservation since then :-) Most recently, I replaced my 20 year old GE refridgerator with a new model from Hendricks. I've had it for ten months now and love it, but a couple of weeks ago the refrigerator door handle broke off in my hand when I was opening it. I called Hendricks and they ordered a new door handle at no charge to me ( the fridge was still under warranty) and once it arrived from GE, they came and installed it. A friend in Flemington purchased kitchen appliances from Hendricks a few years ago and I vowed when an appliance reached the end of its lifespan I'd contact Hendricks. Our eight-year-old microwave died the weekend before Thanksgiving and the cost to repair was more than a new unit (I was already in for $106 for the GE service call). I called Hendricks and explained what I needed, and the choice was simple as there aren't many over-the-range choices. Rick and I reviewed the microwave online/over the phone and I had a new microwave installed and in use the day after Thanksgiving. I paid a few dollars more than list, plus the installation fee (again, extra because I'm beyond their service area), but we had a new microwave installed in days, and the additional cost was worth the time savings and haggling and add-ons (i.e., extended warranty, credit card offer) I would have gotten from a salesman at the large appliance chain retailer in the area; I kept my vow never to shop there again after the terrible (or rather lack of) service I had after I purchased a refrigerator several years ago. Rick was efficient, professional, and treated the installation as if he was working in his own home; my husband, a do-it-yourself/construction retiree, was mightily impressed. I have had the very worst experience with this retailer - I was lied to and was cheated. Ten years ago I purchased all of my kitchen appliances from Hendricks (as I try to support local vendors). So when my oven stopped working, I called them to send out a repair person. Gary came out and after a quick look, and told me that my oven control board was shot and he would have to order a new one. Two hours after he left, I received a call from Fred. Fred told me that the part was no longer available and had been discontinued and I would have to purchase a new stove/microwave unit. After I ranted about our "throw-away" society, he gave me the model number of a new unit for me to check out on-line. The next day when I went onto the GE website, I saw the "parts" tab and decided to take a look. Low and behold I easily found my part WAS available. So I called GE, ordered it, scheduled a GE service technician and within a week my problem was solved - and for a few hundred vs. a few thousand dollars! I cannot tell you how angry and disappointed I felt at being cheated. Was it because I was a woman or was it because of my address? Either way, Fred lied to me and attempted to sell me a product I did not need. My husband confronted him, and Gary had no defense. I just received my new washer and dryer and am very happy! I wanted to buy my new appliances from a local business and my plumber recommended Hendricks. I myself had never heard of them before since I'm still fairly new to the area. I called Hendricks about 15min before they were scheduled to close, but the gentleman did not hesitate to help me. I told him what type of washer and dryer I was looking for and he made several recommendations. We discussed customer feedback, serviceability and cost. He ultimately recommended a top notch GE model. I looked it up online and found the reviews matching what he told me. The price was only slightly higher than the lowest price I saw online (Home Depot) which I'm happy to pay to support a local business and also knowing that Hendricks will take care of any warranty or service calls as well. He ordered the units that evening and the next day a team came out to do the installation. Delivery, install and removal of the old appliances was all free. They did a fabulous job! Poor Service. Repaired my dryer. It broke again and was repaired, reluctantly. Dryer was returned with the door scratched and damaged. They're unwilling to replace the door without charge. The person I spoke with was angry and unhelpful. read more
