Our daughter lives in a Boston burb near NH and we've found a shop I would trust with my wallet and my BMW even 850 miles away... This summer she had a serious failure which dictated a trip on a roll-back for evaluation. After a day or 2 of extensive diagnosis, they found that it had a failed turbo with an impeller making very minor housing contact (only at temp). Turbo replaced as well as some other needed work and she was out-the-door at a cost MUCH LESS than the local dealer (who thru this service we STRONGLY SUSPECT was NOT changing oil as requested as the oil was broken down and led to a low oil-pressure) who we now will NEVER TRUST. Jack the owner went out-of-his-way during this process and even gave me his cell in the event that we needed anything. Subsequent visits have only made this Dad & gearhead trust and love him more. Yes he's a New Englander and you expect that - duh. Understand him, work with him, and if you can't trust him and his shop it's likely YOUR issue and not his! Oh - he also has a guru of a ECU / computer / electrical tech who also teaches at MIT. He's got talent here who can flat be trusted. read more

Damon is the man Back in '03-'04 I went to him for all maintence/repairs I couldn't do on my GTI. Faulty ingintion switch, timing belt, coolant leak. He also did alot of easy stuff for me in the winters when it was too cold for me to work on the car outside. Oil changes, trans fluid change ect ect Damon is fair, completely qualified (if not over qualified), Prices were great, and he was fast. I liked that he wasn't affriad to let you poke around under the car talk while he worked. He was hands on with customers you were never in the dark about what was going on. read more

I think this may just be the first 5* review I've ever written on Yelp. About a year ago, I bought an E46 M3. On the first couple of occasions I needed some basic service, I had taken it to the well known BMW specialist in Newbury. They were excellent, but the prices... my god. They really live up to the old BMW adage that the M in an M-series stands for money (they even said this to me the first time I had sticker shock). Then I found German AutoSport. The cost for an oil change was about half that of the other place. When I suspected one of my shocks was gone, I took it in to confirm before I ordered new shocks and they didn't charge me a thing!! I even had them order the replacement shocks from Tirerack as they didn't inflate the pricing. Laura is very communicative by email and phone and really these guys have just been phenomenal. Due to my first pricing experiences, I been thinking 'what have I gotten myself into, maybe I should sell this thing', but now I feel pretty comfortable. Thank you German AutoSport. read more

I have a longstanding relationship w/another service place a long way away, but found myself stuck in Amesbury with some car problems. German Autosport fixed me up first rate--I have complete confidence in Damon and the rest of his crew--he went the extra mile on the diag, fixed my problem and got me back on the road all for a very reasonable amount and in a reasonable amount of time. takes advantage of his knowledge and customer base...too bad he's defiantly a good and knowledgeable mechanic. and if money didn't matter to me i would continue to bring my cars to him. but reality is money, and in the business world (at least what i have been exposed to) people are expected to stand by there word/quote. every time i brought my car to him even after self diagnosis, the cost was 30% more than he told me over the phone, and he never called me to make sure this was ok with me. (even after i explained to him how important this small "common courtesy" means to me. I lost faith in him fast after my most recent visit where i told him the problem. and asked him to look into why this was occurring. he fixed what i asked for charged me more than he quoted me (again) and my car overheated 2 days later. I'm NOT BRINGING MY CAR BACK TO HIM! read more
