The head guy here was a former Nasa engineer, and is very smart. He is funny and also honest about work. German cars can get very very fussy with problems that can be hard to trace. John and this outfit have always fixxed everythjng ive ever brought them, including very hard to trace problems, like minor electricity related problems, on and on. This place is a Scam. Very unprofessional people who are just looking to take your money. Wish I would've never let them work on my car. unfortunately it's too late for me, but I'm hoping this review will save you time and most importantly money. DON'T GO HERE. My car was leaking coolant and they charged me $185 just to look at it. Of course they said it goes toward repairs. Ultimately needed a water pump. All in all, they charged me $1150 out the door. Without telling me the cost beforehand. They don't even give you an invoice or any legit documents. Everything is handwritten on a paper.( This is unprofessional) I bought a part and they offered to install it free of charge but then a guy there(Probably the owner) hustled me into returning the part and charging me more for the same exact part that I returned to an O'reilly's next door. He said he only uses genuine OEM parts. Thats what he would put it in for me. Long story short, I was better off taking my car to the dealership and paying the same but at least I'll have peace of mind. I don't even know if these dudes are certified mechanics. Better safe than sorry. I didn't have many options, it was a Saturday so not many places were available for me. Take your car elsewhere, and always call around. If you have a place that you go to regularly then good. But for anyone who is looking around, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Thanks for reading. read more

Wow, I am impressed with this company, radio came in very quick, California to Naples Fl in 2 1/2 days. Radio looks like new for my 20 year old mint SLK. How come everyone that is rating this place has no previous reviews...kinda weird I say. Anyhow, this place isn't worth the hype, you're keep bringing your car here for repair because nothing gets fixed right the first time around. Most of the guys that hang out at the place with the owner are friends of he owner, most of the cars are either very old bmw, porsches, etc and there are a few that remove the original emblems on a beamer and put up M3 emblems up. German Autotech is by far the most superior repair shop that you could take your car to. They have worked on all of our cars, including our 76 BMW 2002 and our 81 Porsche 930 Turbo. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO GERMAN AUTO TECH. I brought my car into them to have a temperature sensor installed and they broke my radiator. My radiator had NO Leaks before I brought my car to them. I even had a diagnostic done before and there was no leaks. The mechanic "Todd" if that is his real name is very unprofessional and does not know what he is doing! I had to tow my car home and when I looked at my engine there were things missing. Todd is a thief!!!!!!!!! They will be hearing from my attorney shortly!!!!! read more

Unbelievably nice and fabulously helpful!!! I'd give six stars if I could. My family was in Claremont looking at the colleges with our high school daughter. We were on a family road trip from Northern California. Our check engine light came on as we got to Claremont last night. I was worried about driving all the way home with a possible problem. A little yelp research led me to Prevent Car Care. They don't work on Range Rover, but walked me next door to German Autotech. They spent quite a while trying to get the computer diagnostic to interface correctly. After about 45 minutes, it turned out to be absolutely nothing, just a light that needed to be reset. They checked everything out, gave it all an ok, and then wouldn't let me pay them anything. This after spending at least 45 minutes of their time helping me out. My nine year old son was with me, and this was a great life lesson on how to treat people, how to win customers and in general how it always is the right thing to be nice to people. I wish I lived here. I'd never take my car anywhere else. Thanks! read more
