I got PRETZEL CROISSANT, PRETZEL, and CHERRY CRUMB. The croissant was grand. First bite, I thought it tasted stale. So I popped it in the microwave for about 10 seconds and what a difference. It was buttery, soft, and not greasy. It had that salty pretzel taste with the light, buttery, texture of the croissant. Not the best one but close second. The cherry crumb is life! The cherries are tart, not like most places that drown canned cherries in extra sugar! It pairs perfectly with the sweet buttery crumb. The crust is not actually crust but a bread like texture. It's almost a mix of a cake and bread on the bottom. This dessert is just the right amount of sweet, doesn't go overboard. The crumb topping is addicting....so much so, I kind of picked the topping off the ones I got for others. The pretzel is soft and fresh. Customer service is pleasant. First the lady who I think is the owner was very unwelcoming towards me. I felt like I was intruding on her. The deserts are not what I expected. The almost paste in my bear claw was grainy and it had a hint of almond paste taste. The dough is not fluffy it's very dense. I couldn't eat any of the desserts. I was not impressed. read more

Pretzel croissant. Blueberry pudding danish. Yogurt cake. (Curry ketchup?) It may sound like some crazy German-fusion patisserie, but it's straight-up Bavarian breads and desserts. I'm a fan of the Summerlin location, and didn't even know that they had expanded to Henderson until I was driving down Eastern and saw a sign twirler with "German Bakery" advertised in a familiar font. I had to stop in and see what's new. The store is both a bakery and a market for German groceries. They bake a nice assortment of hearty breads and rolls, including the best marble rye and loaves full of seeds and grains. Strudels, crumb cakes, fruit danish, almond bear claws, coffee cakes... A new item for me was their pretzel croissant, pretzel dough rolled into a small croissant shape and topped with seeds. It tasted buttery and had a lighter texture than the usual pretzel and you should probably order a dozen. You're going to be stuck in traffic on Eastern, anyway... why not make it less painful with some pretzel rolls or poppy seed danish? read more

I have driven by this place lots of times and I finally stopped. They are open every day but Sunday. 9am-5pm. The service is very nice. Lots of breads and pastries to choose from. They also sale German Coffee for 2.29 cup and other german groceries. I tried the regular pretzels. Very good not to much salt but just enough and fresh. My husband got a Kruegal and states he will get another one. So much to choose from, I will be back. While we were inside it just kept getting busier with people which is a good sign. read more

There are other bakeries which make their combos heavier on the croissant and those tend to be much too buttery. The pretzel croissants here are perfectly balanced. I really love me some fresh bread. You would think I weighed 500 lbs., that's how much I love it. The only trouble with me bread is that I want it fresh and warm. I couldn't give this outstanding bakery a 5 star rating because of two reasons: 1. they open at 9a 2. they don't bake their stuff in house. I thought all bakeries open at the crack of dawn with all of their goodies out and ready. Not so in this case. I showed up at 830a, thinking I had already missed out on the good stuff, and watched their van unload all the goodies into the place with an open time of 9a. Despite the drawbacks, the pastries are so delectible I will still go there for the coconut custard danish and the black forest cake slice. The strudel was a revelation. So so so good. I was completely blown away by how good it was. The beesting cake was so delicious. Homemade filling and the crust was so tender and yet chewy. The pretzel was good, but I think I like a less authentic version. I don't really like intensely flavored pretzels. It's a personal preference. I live near the Rampart location, but was out in Henderson and decided to stop. Glad I did. They are also serious about Covid, always important. I tried the Beesting Cake, it was a good as anything I ever had during my extensive time in Germany or Denmark. Cookie Monster move on over, because there is a new kid in town and he does not discriminate against any baked goods. When my sister tried their original location, she brought me home a rice pudding pastry and I was in love. Rice pudding in flaky dough... Can you get any better than that? So I was ecstatic when I found out they had opened a shop on Eastern. When my sister and I stopped in, the selection was not the biggest, but we were happy to find pretzel bread. We also got the Saturday cake and a blueberry rice pudding pastry. Sadly, the only item I truly enjoyed was the bread. The cake looked beautiful, but not so much when we looked at it up close. As we brought it out of the bag, in the car, we noticed a large layer of gelatin over the fruit. I understand a thin layer to keep the fruit moist and brilliant, but it was over kill. They have a huge variety of German pastries and cookies as well as buns and non sweet baked goods. You'll find a pleasant selection of imported brats and schnitzel, as well as German magazines, kids books, and sundries. A nice range of candies and candy bars. We wanted to get the pretzels, but you'll have to arrive well before noon on a Saturday to procure the salty treat. Alas, we settled on pretzel croissants. For 99 cents, you'll get a huge, seedy, crispy on the outside, soft, moist, and flaky on the inside. Prices are very reasonable, and a jar of Nutella is just $2.99. read more

I loved the selection of baked goods. There is one case of breads/pretzels/etc, and one of pastries. Naturally, I only stopped in for the pastries! I feasted my eyes on a range of linzer tarts, german cheesecake, strudel, and a few other good-looking bar-type treats. I really waffled on what to select, but finally went for the German cheesecake. Mistake! It was nothing but bland. Not even sweet. Seriously, just tasted like whipped up cream cheese. Maybe that's how they do it in Germany?? Either way, it wasn't worth my calories. I tossed it out after 2 bites and cruised down Eastern to Sweet Ruby Jane. I'm sticking with 3 stars for now, until I've sampled some of the other offerings. Walked in there to buy some German stuff. Lady was on the phone for 20 minutes I walk next-door to buy Papa John's and then I came back and it took 20 minutes for them to help one other person. If there's another German bakery I would go there if not I will not deal with these people very rude specially when she's on the phone and she doesn't say hello or greet a customer when a customer is walking in very unprofessional would not go back. read more

A small family owned business that I frequent often, they have excellent pastries and bread! It would be nice if they expanded on spices and sauces and some other traditional items. Word of caution: I don't know if it a supply and demand issue but the shelves are often very empty...so don't go at the last minute as you may not find what you ate looking for. We drove far out of our way to try this bakery. And the reason it does not get a higher rating is b/c I came here specifically to try the soft pretzel, but the type found here is not what I like. Pretzels come in four different forms: longer roll, round bun, traditional shape, and in a croissant hybrid. The first three differ only in shape and use the same recipe. I like the denser, buttery pretzels I usually find at Ammish/Mennonite bakeries. Think Auntie Anne's. No doubt these were fresh b/c they were so soft, and they were def good, but I was hoping for something else. Maybe no one makes pretzels like that except for the above groups. The pretzel croissant was really different, and fun to try. It was really seedy even in the middle, and that I liked. I also got the bee sting cake, which surprisingly was not soft and spongy, but more bread like. It was not that sweet and really good. Strudel was super cheap and very good. The lady working here was very friendly and was very apologetic that they don't care silverware. She said something about them having to tax the food if they did. What would've been nice is if they had a cheese or mustard sauce to go with the pretzels. So...half a star each for price and service and two stars for food makes it a 3 star experience. 5 stars for their bee sting cake. This is the only cake I've eaten that has a perfect balance of sweetness! Love the shredded almond clusters on top and the custard in between the 2 layers of cake. Only downside is you tend to overeat since you don't feel any guilt in your diet and when you're done just then you'll ask yourself, "what have i done??" Hahaha. It's good that they only sell this cake on weekends coz if they sold it everyday, I'd eat it everyday of the week which is bad for my diet and I'd go broke coz it's $3.40 a piece, and I can finish 2 in a day! We got the pudding cake, filled donut with sugar coating, Apple crumb cake, cherry danish type things and the almond twist. The quality of the products are high, and the prices are low! Would definitely recommend, all products very tasty and authentic.

This place has a great business model. They are honest , you don't get sold old goods at full price like many places. They mark down day old stuff so it is cheap to just "try" something out. The staff are professional and friendly. The baked goods were 5 stars for everyone. All agreed a really great place. And They do not use extra funky frankendfood ingredients or too much sugar so that is a plus. The only little drawback is that they could use a few tables and chairs but it is a small place so understandable that they don't. read more

First visit was December 2013 and now I'm a weekly regular here. My favorite is the lemon cake: not super sweet as most American cake, and just the right amount of zestyness from lemon. I love liver sausage, but its liver sausage is a bit more bitter for my taste. I'm sure this is personal reference. I think my late-grandma made the best liver sausage in this world.
