This is my third time coming here, and I'm finally sitting down and writing a review! I truly enjoy the aesthetics and vibe of this place. It is nice to come and grab happy hour, cocktails, bites, or dinner. They have extremely comfy chairs to catch up with friends and loved ones. Our bartender that took care of us on multiple occasions, is Nadeem. He is so attentive, professional, kind, and quick. The cocktails and items he suggested were superb. My friends, family, and I cannot wait to come back - and we definitely want to be taken care of by Nadeem! Restaurants leave their mark when they have delicious food, great service, and a beautiful atmosphere - all of this is check, check, check!

Our servers were nice, but we were seated for almost a half hour before we could get attention (and they weren't especially busy). They messed up our order, but the food was good once it came out. While the front of house needs to get tightened up, there's obviously a chef in the kitchen.

Came here for restaurant week and was gagged so hard by their brunch. This is probably the best restaurant week brunch I've been to as the dishes exceeded on all marks. The space itself is nice inside (tho some of the booths r weird because they can connect a 4 table to another 4 table?) and it's a bit smooshed. The deal was also 25 dollars for 3 courses which was huge slay But the run down of everything I got to taste and try: Shrimp Tempura: I think they had like rice puffs this was coated in which added such an interesting texture and took what can be a heavy dish and made it not as heavy. The shrimp was well cooked and the sauce was spicy and complimented the dish well. Korean wings: These chicken wings were incredible. Perfect flavor that had a slight tang and the meat was cooked perfectly Shakshuka: Spiced so well and the baguette that came with it was so toasty and warm Egg white Marsala: this was probably one of my top dishes. I'm not an egg white fan but they added so much flavor into the egg white and the paratha bread with it was exceptional Short rib hash: beef was cooked well and came with a poached egg on top. Good chunk of potatoes on the bottom. A classic you can't go wrong with French toast: it was good but not great. It did have a berry compote on top which was vibrant and added good flavor. Friends really enjoyed it Pancakes with coconut rum sauce: my other favorite dish of the day. The coconut rum sauce paired perfectly, it had rhetorical refreshing taste of coconut but a deeper darker flavor because of the rum. Had to get another one for the pancakes because it was so goooood

The food was very good and at a great price. Le was an amazing server with great recommendations. Would definitely recommend this and I will return again!

This is by far the absolute worst meal I have ever had? And by far the biggest waste of money I've spent in a LONG time. The service was TERRIBLE and the restaurant was EMPTY. I am so disappointed. The salad was so disgusting. So much cilantro, iceberg lettuce and no dressing. The pasta was exclusively salt. There was zero taste. Just salt. The meat "dish" was worthless. I will never be returning here. Save your money!

Chose Gerrard Street Kitchen to celebrate a birthday and it was a wonderful evening. The restaurant is located inside an upscale boutique hotel, the Darcy. The dining area too is upscale and elegant. Jazzy music played in the background, but very softly so conversations can be conducted at normal speaking volume. The menu is traditional American, but with European and Asian influences. Such dishes include beef Wellington, paprika scallops, sushi, robata grill items and curry chickpeas. We shared a guacamole and chips starter. I had the impossible burger and my companion had sushi. Everything was top quality and beautifully presented. The guacamole was creamy and fresh. The burger was on a toasty brioche bun and came with crispy fries. The nicest surprise was the birthday dessert with candle presented at meal's end. It was a light meringue mini cake torched at the top and surrounded by a passion fruit sauce. The chocolate oval with happy birthday written on it was a nice final touch. Service was very attentive and polite.

Stopped by the bar after hearing great things about this establishment and it did not disappoint. Had a seat at the bar since I was visiting solo. Was welcomed by Haley and she was able to provide a great menu recommendation. She was very attentive, even while busy tending to the bar and multiple tables. I tried their version of the espresso martini and it was great. Will definitely be returning to try the food and more amazing cocktails. The ambience was sophisticated and sleek, as a hotel bar should be.

If it weren't for the customer service, this would've been a five-star review. I would like to give this place another chance though given it has such good reviews from others. Our personal experience just was not it. Ambiance - Located inside the Darcy Hotel, this place is beautiful. There was a nice outdoor area to eat as well. It's very pretty on the inside. It would be nice for a date night or a girls night. Customer Service - Just no. Where do I start? When our food arrived, some of the food was missing. When we asked for the missing food, they told us we would be charged. It took a while to explain that it was the food that was supposed to come with our meal that was missing. We finally thought we had it straightened out until the bill came. Sure enough. When the bill came, they had charged us extra. They finally agreed they had made a mistake and said they would fix the bill. I don't understand what it took to fix the bill, but I had time to wait around for them to return the bill to us, decide to use the restroom, use said restroom, and return to the table still with no bill. It had to take 10-15 minutes for them to fix the bill; and it took two people. I'm glad we weren't in a rush. Very frustrating overall. Food - The food was outstanding. Gotta give credit where credit is due. The caramelized bananas were something I've never had before. Now, I don't understand why more restaurants don't have this. :) Also, top five french toasts I've ever tasted. Overall, if we had a better customer service experience, this would've been a stellar visit. We'll chalk this up to being a fluke and try it again one day.

Nice place for brunch with friends. I got the eggs benedict with a green smoothie and it hit the spot. A bit pricey, but hey it's D.C. Service was really good and food came out quickly. A good place to check off your bucket list, but not sure when I would be craving this enough to come back.

Recently ate here a few times on a work trip and overall it was good! Service was wonderful! Prompt, so kind and had great recommendations. For breakfast, they had a mix of creative and traditional options but I went with the American breakfast with eggs, twice fried potatoes and chicken sausage. Everything was well cooked and delicious but my colleague got the curry eggs and masala and it was AMAZING. Highly recommend. For dinner, their menu is a pretty standard American upscale bar menu but since they are located inside The Darcy, they do happy hour from 4-6 everyday and today was free wine and sushi! Both were such a nice touch and the creative California roll was delicious (a spiced up version of your traditional Cali roll)

The Tiffin: with Garam Masala Chicken
    Adam S.

Gerrard Street Kitchen is a decent spot on the street level of the Darcy Hotel. I've heard amazing things about their happy hour and brunch , but unfortunately dinner left me wanting more. Drinks were okay (nothing special), and we loved the Indian Spiced Paratha Tacos appetizer. And my other dinner companions overall liked their meals: the Chicken Tagine, and the Tiffin: Garam Chicken. The primary reason for the 3 star review is that my Smoked Paprika Scallops & Shrimp main course was served with just two small scallops, and two medium-sized shrimp - for $39! I'd expect a full meal with a full serving of protein for $39 and was left extremely disappointed and unfulfilled with what was served - but at least it was still deliciously tasting overall. I hope that portion sizes are more worth their menu price, as this new-ish local spot near DuPont Circle continues to find its groove. But until then? Proceed with caution.

    Lynette R.

The Masala Egg Whites were delicious and had a really good flavor. The pancakes were light and full of flavor. Would have liked to have had a larger water glass because he had to fill it multiple times. Service wasn't as attentive as we would've expected for this level of restaurant. The dining area was very cozy and intimate.

It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!
