Found 1310 Restaurant completely by accident after my nail appointment today and I'm still thinking about it. First -- this is inside the Georgetown Inn on Wisconsin, but don't let "hotel restaurant" fool you. The space is bright, open, modern, and just feels good the second you walk in. My dining partner and I slid right into seats at the bar and were greeted immediately by a bartender who absolutely nailed the whole experience. Loved that they offer both the lunch and breakfast menus (breakfast until 2:30 PM, which honestly feels like a gift). We started with the fried Parmesan risotto balls and listen... crispy, golden, cheesy little clouds of happiness. That herb aïoli? Ridiculous. Perfect start. I met up with a friend for brunch before an event we had at nearby Montrose Park. This is one more popular spots during the weekends; and not really because the food and service are all that great...but really because of it's location. I would highly recommend making reservations during weekend brunch, which is easy enough via Resy. We arrived 10 min before 12pm noon, and 1310 was bustling. Every table was filled and the place was filled with the sounds of silverware clanging on plates and people engaged in converation. And regarding the noise level, it gets LOUD at 1310. The flooring is hybrid of tile and composite wood, and coupled with the low ceilings the result is a somewhat deafening echo chamber during peak dining times. My dining companion and I spent the hour literally "yelling" to be heard over the din of discordant restaurant sounds. Coffee and a mimosa arrived shortly after ordering the mains. I tried a sip of my friend's mimosa...and it was fine. It wasn't overly sweet and the effervescence from the champagne was nice. Huevos rancheros and a vegggie omelette were delievered to the table after an acceptable 15 minutes had passed. Honestly, these dishes were very MID. Having lived in Texas for several years, 1310's version of the racheros was sad. Everything tasted like it came straight off a Sysco truck. The tortillas were somewhat stale and got soggy quickly from the beans and eggs. And the refried beans were definitely canned. At least the eggs and avocados were fresh. My friend's omelette was better, since it was prepared fresh. The eggs were fluffy and the veggies softened and seasoned well. Potato wedges were fried to a nice crispness and tasted good when dipped into ketchup. Service was acceptable. Having been a server in a past life, ours was giving off "I don't really wanna be here" vibe. But no shade from me, since I've had plenty of those days. Coffee was nice and strong and the cup was always kept filled for the requisite morning caffeine hit. Many of the reviews note that 1310 is on the expensive side...and I concur. Brunch for two, with coffee + one mimosa, and two entrees with tax and tip was just a bit under $80. Kind of pricey in my opinion. But if you choose to dine in the area, expect to pay the "Georgetown tax." I was invited to this restaurant for my friend's graduation celebration. The space was intimate, but spacious enough to fit our party of 14! From the moment we walked in, the staff were attentive and caring of our needs. We were seated and served our appetizers and drinks within 10 minutes. Talk about efficiency! With a larger party, we were able to sample all the appetizers and was served our entrees really quickly. The staff was knowledgable about the dishes offered and provided great recommendations. Martin's Tavern's loss is 1310 Kitchen & Bar's gain! We had a free day because it was around the holidays and wanted, craved and desired a burger from Martin's Tavern. We make sure that we go there every few years to enjoy one of the best burgers in DC. However, on this day, Martin's was packed, more or less. There were some tables that were open but the host said that they were NOT taking any more diners unless we already had reservations. Reservations??? At a tavern??? WTF! So, out we go, up Wisconsin Avenue. It's cold so we selected the 1st restaurant that we found - 1310 Kitchen & Bar! We were sure as hell lucky that Martin's was crowded. 1310 served up some of the best food we have ever had in a friendly/professional atmosphere and with no crowds making us feel like sardines!!! Okay so both of us ordered hamburgers since we had burgers on the mind. This 1310 burger WAS THE BEST BURGER WE HAVE EVER HAD IN DC! Bar none! It was better than Martin's. We actually got ours differently dressed. My spouse had a spared down version with only lettuce, tomato, blue cheese and mayonnaise while I got the burger as Chef Crovato created it - with arugula, pickled onions, American cheese, bacon tomato jam, maple aioli and whole lot of LOVE!!!! It was divine! Perfectly cooked to medium rare. The ground beef was juicy, flavorful and tender; very high quality! Perfectly put together too so that I could eat it in a relatively civilized manner (seriously, not even 1 piece of arugula fell off the burger - how DID they do that???). Just perfect! These burgers were so good that we did not talk for a while - we only ate! And the fries - OMG those fries! If those fries were people, I would get naked and have sex with them. The best french fries I have ever had anywhere (including in France or Belgium or wherever the hell they 1st came from)! Crunchy outside, soft and luscious inside - perfect amount of salt. I wanted to cry but I didn't. I only ate! And the serving was so big that I could not even eat them all and I never ever ever EVER leave anything on my plate!!! Okay now to the service! The service was equal to the food. Rawn was smart, talkative, friendly, chatty in a great way, interesting and professional. He talked about some of the other dishes with such knowledge and praise that I simply enjoyed his "performance." Rawn is certainly one of the best servers I have ever come across! The final stop on our adventures was a mediocre establishment in Georgetown. My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I both wanted to see this section of the DC metro area and I personally had been advocating aggressively for a quick peek at the Exorcist Steps (which I got to see but even I can't quite figure out how to write a lengthy review for stairs). This restaurant was about a 10-minute walk from there, which honestly felt longer because it was the Tuesday morning after the Inauguration and still hanging out in the single digits. But we carried on, as we do. The building 1310 was in was pretty cool - it's in the same location as the Georgetown Inn, which I imagine a lot of bougie college parents end up staying at when they visit their kids nearby. You can access the restaurant directly from the street, but to use the facilities requires a quick trip through the Inn's lobby, which as bathroom walks go was pleasant. We visited in the late morning/early afternoon, which was prime brunch time. Maybe because it was a Tuesday and officially no longer part of even a long holiday weekend, it was pretty empty during our visit. I'm willing to bet that this just isn't the time to go (weekday brunch), because 1310 has a really good reputation but I just didn't see it during our visit. I don't think the cream of the crop was on the clock and unfortunately it showed, particularly from the service side. Beyond the fact that it was very slow and we had to aggressively locate/hail down our waiter multiple times - and weren't even in a rush - the biggest issue for me occurred when we were ordering. My chum doesn't eat pork and asked if one of the items on the brunch menu (I think it was an omelet) had that ingredient in it. The waiter said no, but you could tell from his demeanor that he wasn't sure, so she asked again. This time he stuttered nervously and said he would check in the kitchen. That's a huge miss in my book - the pork was a dietary preference but I don't even think that matters. There are plenty of reasons why people don't eat certain items and if you can't trust the waitstaff to know the menu and more importantly convey it to you? Huge problem. What if it had been an allergy? Also, a pretty wild aside - I saw a nearby customer walking around the bar area looking for assistance, only to be stopped by the person she'd just been talking to, who had to clarify SHE was the person to ask. The customer assumed they'd been communicating with a fellow patron, not a staff member. I'm not sure I've ever seen that before. I ended up getting the avocado toast with a side of bacon, which was fine. The bacon was on the dry side and in hindsight I would have just gotten the toast and foraged for something savory on our walk afterwards. (And in 1310's defense, the last bacon I had was literally hanging off a clothesline that I had to cut down with scissors - everything after that was going to be a letdown.) The taste of the toast was good and unique; the inclusion of the pomegranate seeds was definitely an interesting touch. I think the texture was a little too crunchy but that's just my personal palate coming out to play. This wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't memorable and there unfortunately weren't many positives to it. It's unlikely I'd come back if I were in the area; there are so many other options to sample. But regardless, I would avoid coming back for sure during this time of the week. read more

Place was packed for brunch on a late Saturday morning. We didn't wait too long as we opted for a table I'm the bar area. While we were initially seated at a long communal table, we asked to move to a private one that we saw was available. There weren't a lot of combinations listed with the breakfast plates, but there were mostly healthy options available. My favorite thing was the homemade Turkey sausage. I wished I could get a dozen to take home. The chef does sell meals to take and freeze. Though not breakfast items. Next time we will try dinner. It had some baileys in it but since it was a nice pour, the baileys didn't cut through too much so it wasn't as sweet as I've had in the past. But certainly a solid 9/10! It wasn't your classic toasty grilled cheese, doused in butter but nonetheless it was still delicious with gooey cheese, it's edges still crispy. My friends and I came in for lunch on a busy day and we were really happy to be seated immediately! It's hard to find a spot in Georgetown as it is so busy, so I was surprised we got a table. Our hostess and server were both very friendly. I ended up ordering a Hot Chocolate and a Shakshuka, one of my favorite brunch meals. The Hot Chocolate was just okay, kind of felt like powder mix. I think I need to be more careful about ordering hot chocolate from restaurants that don't make it in house, because I end up paying $4 for something I can easily make at home! What a hidden gem! My friends and I came here for breakfast and were not disappointed! It's a restaurant inside a hotel but you would never know! I ordered the shakshuka which came out hot and fresh. It was bursting with flavors and was a large portion size (I even had some to take home). The café was clean, the service was quick and our water glasses were always full.
