We booked the Bad Bitches Ghost Tour for a group of 14. It's advertised as an adults-only tour, but there was another group of about 10 people, including several tee y boppers, and another couple. The overall tour group size ended up feeling too large, making it hard to ask questions or hear details while walking. Luckily, the other group left halfway through, which helped. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and check the weather ahead of time, especially if it's cold. We did the night tour, and there are a couple of bars along the route if you need to use the restroom. Bring cash, as some places require a purchase to use the restroom. Uma was our tour guide and she was great (5 stars). She was knowledgeable and engaging, and we learned a lot about the area and the women who played major roles in shaping New Orleans. She also mixed in some ghost stories, though overall the tour wasn't as spooky or ghost-focused as we initially expected. Nighttime was a good choice, as it really gives you a sense of how eerie the area must have felt in the 1700s and 1800s before electricity and paved roads. Overall, we had a good time and would recommend this tour if you don't mind standing at a few locations and listening to stories. It's not the most lively tour though and I would not recommend for a group that's visiting for a party weekend or expecting a spooky or energetic experience. read more

I have never been to New Orleans and wanted to do something unique and interesting. We went on the "Bad Bitches Tour" on Saturday May 23, 2026. It was so much fun. Our tour guide, Louis, was amazing. He was funny, knowledgeable, friendly and just a great guy to be around. He was so involved with the tour and our group. We felt like we were having a great time with a friend. We learned so much intriguing history and felt so engrossed in the subject. I have never had a tour like that before! I would absolutely recommend this tour for anyone looking at getting a behind the scenes history of some very interesting women of New Orleans! read more

The tour guides are definitely animated, and you can tell they love what they do. But I'll be real -- the larger groups take away from the whole vibe. It's hard to get into the storytelling when half the group is talking, drifting off, or complaining. The group I was with kept griping about the LaLaurie Mansion stop, and our guide actually considered rerouting and adding extra locations just to keep everyone happy. We did the night tour, which is supposed to be geared toward adults, and honestly I expected a little more atmosphere and a little less crowd control. There's a lot of potential here, but the experience really depends on who you get grouped with. Overall, the tour itself has good bones -- great stories, a fun guide, and the right locations -- but the big groups and constant interruptions definitely took away from the experience. If you end up with a solid group, you'll have a great time. If not, well... it becomes more babysitting than ghost tour. I'd give it a 3 out of 5. Plenty of potential, just needs smaller groups and better crowd management to match the energy of a true adults-only night tour. read more

There definitely were not as many stops as advertised. I think we only had 4-5 locations. That said, Luis was a PHENOMENAL guide, and he packed tons of detail into the locations we did visit, while also cleverly managing overly excited (ahem, drunk) guests. Definitely recommend Luis! read more

I had a great experience with the Bad Bitches Ghost Tour, it wasn't as ghostly as I expected however I learned so much. Our guide Spooky Lucy was super fun, informative, and really set the tone for my trip. It was my first night in town and I thought it was a great way to get to know the town and reflect on the history as I explored the French Quarter. It's worth doing a tour like this to better appreciate your trip and the history it carries. Loved Spooky Lucy and her book recommendations as well! read more

Wow! Hard pass! Positives: We saw some really cute dogs along the way and it was a nice night. Negatives: pretty much everything else... instructions on what not to do and how/where to stand throughout the tour took longer than most stories, we stood at the first stop for about 45 mins of the hr and a half tour. (People were sitting on the curb because we were there for so long) We didn't learn anything/stories were so vague, repetitive and hypothetical. A few quotes from the tour "this place is super haunted"... what? Why? How? "The orphans' parents decided if they were going to the nunnery or into prostitution." What the orphans have parents now? "Nicholas Cage went bankrupt and ruined his career because he bought this property". read more

Went on the Ghost City Tours New Orleans Pub Crawl on 2/15/26. Had Casandra as our guide. It's a 2-hour walking tour through a section of the French Quarter. Not a lot of walking for those that might be worried about that. But as it is with New Orleans, the sidewalks can be tricky and streets narrow. Just for awareness you are not visiting haunted pubs. But as you are lead to 3-4 bars you will pass 4-5 historic buildings with a ghostly or bloody past. And your guide will share the spooky or ghastly details. It was fun getting the history. Casandra was a great guide and her voice really projected well in the noisy streets. She had great drink recommendations at each of the bars and even some non-ghostly history to share (Nick Cage story). Would recommend if you are in town, into this type of history and probably better if not raining as you are outside for 80% of the tour. read more

Well I was expecting SPOOKY and Scary but it was more a historical tour. I did appreciate that but wished itt would have been more spooky. And while NOLA is a drinking town I also would add a bar stop for shots and 30 minutes...and the fun AND tips might have been more too. I DO know that the group we went with was SO disappointed and most of them wished they hadn't done the tour. Advertised as a walking tour, it's basically a few stops where you stand in front of a building for up to 10 mins while the guide tells a long, convoluted story about women murderers. Our guide rambled on and on in a very irritating voice until you tuned her out. Complete waste of money and my time. Tourist trap. read more

We did the Ghosts of New Orleans tour on a VERY chilly Friday evening. We were able to book our tickets practically last minute. Despite the FREEZING cold, we had a pretty amazing time! Uma was our tour guide and she was a riot. Funny, knowledgeable, considerate, just a truly talented tour guide. I would love to have her guide me around NOLA again someday. I imagine the various ghost tours around the French Quarter are probably somewhat similar and stop at the same sites. Currently on the tour an hour in. We've made half a loop around a city block. They charge, with tax and fees, $40 American dollars for this tour. I would have preferred lighting those dollars on fire. Would have been at least twice as entertaining. If you're interested in this tour I suggest you instead go buy a bottle of beer from any bar in the quarter, drink it, and then smash the bottle over your head. You'll enjoy that more than this tour I promise you. read more

I was excited to take a ghost tour in such a historic city, and I chose Ghost City Tours because it seemed like it would have a good amount of stops/stories to the tour. The webpage for the tour lists four stops and then says, "...plus many more spine-chilling locations and untold stories." So it seemed like a comprehensive tour.... NOT SO! Our guide stoped at only those four stops, nothing more. There would have been plenty of time to stop at other locations, but instead our guide was extremely long winded at the stops we did make. Each stop was 20-25 minutes in length. The guide new her history, but honestly, I didn't need the long winded history of everyone that ever owned a piece of land when the haunted part didn't start until the 3rd or 4th owner. I wore my most comfortable sneakers, but by the end, my feet were killing me from so much standing in one place. Very disappointed as it was not at all the tour with "many more stops" that was advertised. read more

While in New Orleans - it was a must to do a ghost tour while on vacation here. I came across the 'Bad Bitches' tour which highlights some of the famous women in the area and things that they did (good and bad). We were lucky enough to get Dalton as our tour guide - he was really engaging, knowledgeable, and kept us entertained throughout the entire tour. He had a lot of funny campy dad jokes that kept everyone chuckling. Eerily enough, while we were outside of the LaLaurie house, and he was explaining some of the horrible things that happened there, one member in our tour group fell down and passed out. Dalton was kind enough to ensure an ambulance was called and waited with her until help arrived. The timing was quite spooky. I learned a lot of educational things and history about New Orleans that I never knew existed. My only warning is just know ahead of time - that this is strictly a walking tour (no bus or vehicles) and where you start is NOT where you end. So just go into that knowingly ahead of time, and you should be good. I needed the exercise, so I didn't mind that part at all. Great experience - if you're debating whether to go or not - I would say go for it, if you have a couple hours to spare and want to learn some cool things! read more

My husband and I did the Haunted Pub Crawl and it was really fun. We went to five supposedly haunted pubs and Cassandra gave us lots of history along the way. She's a history researcher, so we found that part of the tour really interesting, and we learned some things we didn't know. I liked that you could choose whether to buy a drink at each pub - or not. My husband and I came to New Orleans for our 15th wedding anniversary, it has been on my bucket list for a long time. We are both true crime buffs, so we took the "Killers and Thrillers" tour. All I can say is that anyone who likes history should take this your. Our your guide was amazing, and she told us things that we never knew. She told us not only about the dark side of the city, but the actual history of the city. She was so knowledgeable, and the things that she told us not only held our attention, but they wove a story that started at the beginning, and the ending was something that totally took me by surprise. We visited New Orleans from Los Angeles for my daughter's bachelorette party. Twelve of us signed up for this tour, which cost $36 per person. We arrived at the appointed time and immediately noticed our guide was "trashed!" She reeked of alcohol, couldn't stand straight, nor could she string coherent sentences together! She was a mess! When we realized at the first stop that she could not hold it together, nor did she know anything about New Orleans, we left and called the office for a refund, which they flat-out refused! $432 for this absolute disaster with an impaired guide! They should be ashamed of themselves!!! read more

My boyfriend and I took the killers and thrillers tour in the evening on a Sunday. It was fun, we had a great group. The tour guide was a local which was a plus. He was an older gentleman, very sweet and you could really tell he loved his job. He is a historian and loves to talk about the history of New Orleans and America. Observant of the darker parts of history with a good sense of humor. He was hard to understand, that really was the only downside. It's 1.5 hours and you hear about 6 murders or so. Tour was a bit overpriced for basically just following a guy around a few spots in the area, you can't peek into any of the places he talks about which would have made it more standout. read more

Working for Ghost City Tours as retail manager for over a year was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had. The way they treat both customers and employees is unacceptable. The Corporate office is unprofessional, shows little to no compassion, and fosters a toxic environment. They bully the staff, micromanage, and care more about sales than people's well-being. I recently lost my mother in the beginning of March 2025 and instead of showing empathy or support during an incredibly difficult time, they gave me a very hard time when I needed time off and then they fired me yesterday. This is not a company that values its employees or practices basic human decency. There are much better tour companies in New Orleans that actually care about their customers and staff. If you do a little research, you'll see that Ghost City Tours already doesn't have the best reputation -- and unfortunately, it's well deserved. read more
