Spent a birthday evening here, well, we tried to. Sat at 7:10pm on a Friday. Place was busy. Hostess was kind and friendly. Poured us some water. And then...that was it. An extremely flustered waiter ran by us several times, not even touching the table to say they would be with us. Hostess tried to calm the waiter down one time when he was speeding by to drop a check on an adjacent table. It took forty minutes, and I am not in the least exaggerating before he came back to us by way of us finally having enough and flagging him down as he rushed by as though there was a fire to put out in the kitchen, and so we said we would like to order drinks at least. He stopped and got out his pad and we requested that we also put in food since by this time it was almost 8pm and he replied curtly and without hesitation, "I don't have time for that!" And ran off. Not only did we waste an incredible amount of time here just to leave hungry and without even a drink, but when I called to complain to the manager, hoping someone had the good sense to explain this waiter's behavior, I was met with excuses that they had only two servers and 14 tables between them. Needless to say, consider this review. I booked a table here due to all the positive responses but unless we were the exception, it might happen to your table, as well.

Hotel feedback: it would be nice to offer bath salts or bubbles. It would be a game changer to offer a full English breakfast at the restaurant for hotel guests. I tried to have keurig coffee since I didn't like the market coffee but the machine was very dirty which turned me off completely.

This dish by itself would be 5 stars. The staff was attentive but not overly so. Everyone was friendly and quite willing to engage in light banter. The staff would also get 5 stars. The only reason that I gave this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 was dessert. I usually stay on a low carb diet but I decided to treat myself to a dessert for this occasion. I ordered the "Warm Apple Tart." Unfortunately, it was not warm and the apples were pretty much flavorless. I would not order this dessert again. The bottom line is the Black Bass Hotel is a solid choice and the atmosphere cannot be beat if you get a riverside table. The portions are generous and the food is quite good. Although my plan was to stay in New Hope for the night, the only availabilities were located outside of NH. Doylestown is located about 15 minutes away from New Hope. I consider myself lucky that we couldn't find a place in New Hope as our stay in Doylestown at HF was the best part of our little getaway. The innkeeper, Christine is beyond lovely and caring. She is friendly and more than helpful in making sure our say was nothing short of perfect. She cooked us a terrific breakfast of blueberry pancakes. Major yum! The B&B is about a 1 minute walk from the downtown area which I highly recommend, in my opinion, it was more enjoyable than New Hope. The stay also comes with some american history. This was the home of Oscar Hammerstein where he wrote his most famous works. You could definitely sense some musical magic within the walls. Highly recommended for a great weekend or night of relaxation and comfort in Bucks County. We will be back!

When a snowstorm threatened to disrupt our visit, he prioritized cleaning our rooms in order to allow us to check in early. The rooms are large and despite the frigid temperatures, kept surprisingly toasty. The bathrooms are clean and the towels did not feel like sandpaper. In the morning, Jeff served us made to order omelettes in front of a roaring fire. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Ash Mill to others.

In my opinion the owner has no idea what he is doing. Our room had a filthy hot tub that we had to clean before we used it, a broken toilet seat, and broken glass panels at the back door, where the smell of the pasture and barn would waft in. We were allowed by one of the innkeepers, Joe, to go into the pasture and visit with the animals; however, we weren't told about Poe, the goat who tends to attack people (both my fiance and I experienced that firsthand). Even one of the wedding vendors admitted that she'd gotten bruises from Poe butting into her hip. I was accused by the owner of having had "too many mimosas" when I spoke to him regarding the issues I had (such as Poe being dangerous and a liability, especially to small children who could easily get into the pasture). I have an autoimmune disease and CANNOT have alcohol. My doctors can easily vouch for that. I had plain orange juice. To accuse me of that was rude, unprofessional and out of line. But what should I expect from someone who, instead of helping out with the Wedding Expo, was rolling around the pasture with his animals and their excrement for much of the time? And the so-called "Expo" was small. Very small. One DJ, no live bands, three examples of "sweetheart" tables, three examples of guests' tables, main courses that we couldn't taste, no option for a cash bar or alcohol-free, a tent that seemed like it was going to blow away since it was a windy day...It was very underwhelming. Just don't bother with this place.
