What can I say except that we wish we were welcomed here but the experience was distasteful and unbelievably unprofessional for a restaurant with such high reviews. Spent a birthday evening here, well, we tried to. Sat at 7:10pm on a Friday. Place was busy. Hostess was kind and friendly. Poured us some water. And then...that was it. An extremely flustered waiter ran by us several times, not even touching the table to say they would be with us. Hostess tried to calm the waiter down one time when he was speeding by to drop a check on an adjacent table. It took forty minutes, and I am not in the least exaggerating before he came back to us by way of us finally having enough and flagging him down as he rushed by as though there was a fire to put out in the kitchen, and so we said we would like to order drinks at least. He stopped and got out his pad and we requested that we also put in food since by this time it was almost 8pm and he replied curtly and without hesitation, "I don't have time for that!" And ran off. Not only did we waste an incredible amount of time here just to leave hungry and without even a drink, but when I called to complain to the manager, hoping someone had the good sense to explain this waiter's behavior, I was met with excuses that they had only two servers and 14 tables between them. Needless to say, consider this review. I booked a table here due to all the positive responses but unless we were the exception, it might happen to your table, as well. read more

Terrible terrible terrible. We've eaten here a couple times a few years ago (inside) and it was amazing! Best steak we've ever had. We ate outside today, which has a different menu. Very small menu, but whatever. We each ordered a burger with lettuce/tomato/onion. They don't have tomatoes or fries...again, weird but whatever. The burger was absolutely inedible. It was so burnt my nose burned when eating it. I tried to just eat the middle. We went down the street and got dinner somewhere else. Also not sure if they have high chairs or not? We had our baby on our lap and no one offered or asked. We didn't ask for one as we just assumed they didn't have any as that's the first time no one has asked us. read more

Came in for a pre dinner cocktail with another couple. The bartender was right outside having a break as we entered. It was around 6pm on a lovely August evening. There are seats outside we chose to sit inside as showers were threatening. The bar itself is quite interesting with antiques and memorabilia all around. The glass encased, 45 Star American flag on the ceiling over the bar is worth a look. The bar began to fill up shortly after we arrived. We sat in the long couch area just inside and right as you enter. Comfortable, primo seats. Our waitress came by and we chatted her up. Seemed to be a long time employee with a large tattoo on her right shoulder - Venus. We so named her. Ordered a couple of beers, a Gibson and a Cosmo. All good. Prices were fine. We got a bit loud and were asked to calm down. No problem. I could see this place getting a tad rowdy later but I am not really familiar with the regulars. We will come back to check out the restaurant. An interesting place and worth a stop if you are in Lambertville. Mark. read more

The Swan bar in Lambertville is an amazing space, but unfortunately the drawbacks are overwhelming. First of all, it is not handicap accessible in any way. The venue could be wonderful and is ripe for a hot vibe; however, the service and the management is the absolute worst. The staff ruined a perfectly good evening out. The "gentleman" that "greeted" us at the door immediately gave us attitude. He had no smile, and no welcome, instead we were hit with his hostility. He treated us as if our presence was a hassle to him. He made a big deal about everyone (all 3 of us) having to have a seat - no standing at the bar is allowed or anywhere else for that matter. By the way, I come with my own seat for I depend on a wheelchair for mobility. As he hovered over us, we were informed several times that they have rules that customers must follow, although we weren't aware of which rules we might have been breaking. There are no rules posted, but everyone is expected to know and follow them. Some time after we arrived another friend joined us for only a few minutes. He wouldn't allow him to crouch next to us or even pull up a chair from an unoccupied table behind us. Apparently, this was one of the broken rules that put him into a tailspin. The bar is not a private club and yet we were treated as if we were intruding at a red velvet rope line in New York City. We are a respectable group of mature friends, that have traveled extensively throughout the world and have lived in large cities, from New York to Miami; and, I can unequivocally state that none of us have ever been treated like this before. It's a shame that a neighborhood lounge with so much potential, makes their customers feel so unwelcome. And, although we couldn't quite put our finger on why, our suspicion was that it had something to do with our group being a combination of the disabled, gay and of mixed race. I suppose it's possible that they treat all of their customers this way, but I wouldn't know as this was the first and the last time we will ever spend money at The Swan. read more

We loved our night at the Swan Hotel bar (restaurant is Anton's). When we walked in at 7:00pm it was packed so we had to wait to get a table for a little while, however we were warmly greeted by the host and were able to sit down quickly. We decided to eat in the bar area and not wait for a table in the restaurant. It was extremely warm and cozy, a great spot for a cold rainy winter night. My husband and I split a burger and the mushroom risotto and both were delicious. Would highly recommend the burger! I got a cosmo to drink which was also good. We heard the mashed potato and onion pizza is amazing from two other couples so I think we will try that next time! Overall a lovely evening in a historic building, great service and ambiance, will definitely go back soon. read more

The food was very mediocre in my opinion and the atmosphere of the place was very dark and old. Perhaps some like that, but it felt a bit claustrophobic to me. My waitress was nice but I got a feeling that there was a very pretentious crowd, which is definitely not my style. Wouldn't go back. read more

This is a review of the Bar at the Swan Hotel, not the restaurant (Anton's). I've never eaten at the latter. The Swan Bar, for lack of an official name, is a small room designed for and inhabited by grown-ups, i.e., no music, quiet conversation, etc. It is presided over by Eric, an excellent bartender who, if you are civil, will provide you with excellent traditional cocktails and glasses of a small but interesting group of wines. Nearly every inch of the walls and ceiling is covered with historical images, and the overall effect is charming without being kitchy. An outdoor area is also available on warm days. Food is simple and includes choices such as oysters (in season), salads, grilled meats and chicken, potato pizza(!), cheese plates, and such. All of it is very good, and you may eat at the bar, beside the fireplace on sofas, or at individual tables. This is a place to relax and talk to a friend or significant other or, if that is not possible, the bartender. The availability of food and drink makes everything even better. read more

So impressed. This was probably the most romantic restaurant I have ever been to. We started off with cocktails near the garden. Our waitress was so sweet and accomodating. We were able to get dinner reservations on the couch which was so nice. Sinatra playing softly in the back and we ate by candlelight. The dining room cleared out but we never felt rushed. Really liked the cozy fire and casual seating. We shared at the "coffee table" and chairs in front of the fire. The decor was interesting and the view to the outside patio was very pretty. The arugula, beet, & gorgonzola salad was very good as well as the spinach ricotta pizza. The crab cake was good too. The server was very friendly and attentive. Sinatra music was a nice touch also. This is one of my favorite places in lambertville. My family and I have been there dozens of times and never disappointed. The food and service has always been great!. I find the staff very knowledgeable about food and wine. The specials and regular menus are so enticing that I find it hard to decide on what to order, although my favorite appetizer is the pate. My mom took me here after mentioning that she and my dad used to come here before they were married and recently rediscovered the place. We sat out in the garden and enjoyed lunch. It was very cute and the food was excellent. We both had burgers medium rare with carmalized onions and the burgers were stellar. We then moved inside and sat on one of the couches in the bar area and shared a butterscotch pudding dessert that had thick whipped cream and a biscotti. It was to die for! The menu is small in the bar, but the place is adorable and I'll definitely be back. read more

Although we did not have dinner in this establishment; we did have an enjoyable lunch and cocktails. We found the bar area or lounge to be very warm and inviting. They had a roaring fire going and we were able to seat ourselves at a very good location. We found the bartender to be delightful and very customer focused.
