Stopped here with friends for a light lunch and came away very impressed. My wife and I have been going to New Hope since 1965 and heard about The Mansion Inn from Savor, a dining group. Our waitperson, Gretchen, was fantastic and even went downstairs to fix the soda line for Glenn. We joked with her constantly and she just came back for more. We started with an order of calamari which came with sliced banana pepper and a balsamic vinegar dressing. Very nice - could have been a little crisper. Lunch consisted of BLT with cheese - excellent, Crab cake salad and a Soft Shelled Crab sandwich - all excellent.( Lunch for four, by the way ) All this in the garden, under a tent with crystal chandeliers! All the sandwiches came with a "salad of the day" which was a potato salad - again, very good. Coming from the hustle-bustle of a Saturday in New Hope, The Mansion Inn was a welcome oasis where we could relax and enjoy! We will definitely go back, perhaps for dinner next time. The previous reviews seem a bit harsh, but there may have been changes since their reviews. The interior of the building was beautiful with a very nice sitting room off of the foyer. Words can't even describe how great this place is... You just have to come and see it for yourself. Fantastic food, service and cocktails from a true craftsman. Even the mimosas were made with fresh squeezed orange juice. The atmosphere is beautiful, light and airy which is great for a building with so much history. Highly recommend the brunch here. The host and waiter were very welcoming and friendly which gave us great vibes from the start. We got a lot of food including Brussels sprouts which had a honey saracha, so so tasty. Then we had French onion dumplings which I'd say are a must have, served in an escargot dish and unlike anything you've ever has before. The truffle Mac and cheese was so savory and comforting too. Another must have is the fries topped with an egg and Korean beef...unreal. The gravy was perfect. Finally we ended the night with a burger which was expensive but good. If you're planning a dinner for a large group, the Mansion Inn is the perfect spot! My husband and I held our rehearsal dinner here this past October, and I have to say it was as enjoyable as our wedding day! Off the bat, Mansion Inn's staff was responsive and patient with me during the planning process. They provided information and availability quickly, and were willing to customize the menu and bar options to suit our group. We were able to hold a cocktail hour in their bar area, followed by a private dinner in their larger dining room. The ambiance, food and service were exceptional. I was also pleasantly surprised that the owners Kris and Joe were on site the entire time, not just overseeing, but working the bar and kitchen. There were even some last minute requests that we hadn't previously discussed, and they accommodated with grace. I had a great time talking to them and you could just tell how passionate and involved they are with their business. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. read more

Overprice, appetizers were mainly good but Short Rib appetizer was pretty much French fries with few pieces of short rib. For main dish we had lamb chops and seafood risotto. Lamb chops were cooked soft but were lacking any spices. Seafood risotto tasted like chlorine. Service was average, had to wait for long time for main entries to be told that one of them can't be made because they have no ingredients. One main entry was forgotten at all. I kept hearing these wonderful things about this little town called "New Hope". So, on an unusually warm Thursday in January I went looking around groupon for somewhere new to try and stumbled upon the mansion Inn and upon looking briefly at the menu and spotting a scallop pumpkin risotto I knew we had to try it. Had I not been looking for this place, I'm not sure I would have ever just stumbled in or even realized there was an amazing restaurant inside. Being winter, the whole town was a bit empty. The place was lit up and looked like what I would have thought to be a quaint little bed and breakfast. We were greeted by two very friendly staff members and were quickly seated. After ordering drinks, complimentary bread and a delicious homemade butter were brought out for the table to enjoy. We started with the duck fries and both got the scallop pumpkin risotto and I also got a side of Brussel sprouts. This food was seriously just, wow. So good, that when we decided to come back to celebrate Valentine's Day we ordered the same exact thing because we both loved it so much. I will have to try other dishes in the future and I'm also looking forward to coming here when the outdoor area in the back is open or possibly for an overnight stay. Overall this place is a 4.5 star for me. We went with two other couples on a Saturday night and started our evening off with a few drinks in their cool bar as we waited to be seated. The bar area had little rooms, including two outside decks, so it wasn't too noisy and a group could enjoy some conversation. The main room with 14 foot ceiling was a little loud and it was hard at times to hear the waiter. All of the appetizers were great with the ahi tuna and the NY Ruben eggroll as stand outs! I had the steak and frites topped with a bone marrow butter that was to die for. My wife enjoyed the sea scallops which were cooked perfectly, on a bed of pumpkin risotto. Unfortunately, three of our group got the "line caught" halibut which was over cooked and dry BUT it was served over a wild black rice which was delicious. Thankfully they gave us desserts on the house to make up for the fish and other than leaving empty plates and glasses on our table waaaaay too long, the service was good. The outside looks gorgeous. The inside not so much. It looks like some grandmother's old cat decorated this place. Nothing matches anything and not in a good "shabby chic" way. The lobster bisque was 8 dollars, pretty small, and crazily over-seasoned. The shrimp scampi was delicious, 14 dollars, but ridiculously small. When we asked for bread they gave us four super small slices of a baguette... yay for hospitality. We live a mile away and just learned today that The Mansion Inn has again opened, so we tried it again tonight. The restaurant has only been open for 2 weeks and the hotel is not open yet, but they hope to start accepting guests in the next month or so. They have lunch on Thursday and Friday, and there is a brunch on Saturday and Sunday starting at 11 to close. The decor is slightly on the minimal side for our tastes, but once the food started coming to our table, we were hooked. The food is every bit as good as a city restaurant and we had such a wonderful time. We both had the boar ragu which was perfect. Desserts and cappuccino were heavenly. The service was impeccable and we send kudos to Jackie, our server! As we were finishing, we had a long chat with one of the very friendly owners who seems enthusiastic and VERY committed. The architecture is actually quite beautiful, although something about the original interior makes me feel like I would see ghosts walking around in the middle of the night. But anyway, there's also an outdoor patio in the back with a beautiful garden scenery. I've now been here twice for dinner, once for lunch. I think I've had the chicken and pork here - pretty good. And I was here for lunch yesterday, which is a cheaper menu with more sandwiches than entrees. I had the ham and cheese croissant sandwich and strangely enough, when they brought out my sandwich, they forgot the ham and cheese. LOL. But when they brought it out, to my surprise, there were some thick slices of carved ham and brie - deeeelish. And although I can't remember their names, our server was also very good. The eggs benedict I ordered was pork roll instead of ham, which I actually enjoyed, though I could have opted for salmon, too. Today (Saturday), my sister and I took our 77-year-old Mom on a train ride and decided to find a good place for brunch. Although we are Princeton native, we had not been New Hope PA for awhile. Anyway, we tried a couple places, and they were all having 30 to 60 mins wait. My sister found the Mansion Inn before our Mom passed out from hunger. The hostess was very nice to us and sent us to a table right away. The waiter Jay took care of us. Actually, somebody started correctly that there is very little numbers of wait staffs. It seems like Jay was the only person waiting on All the tables (about 6-7). However, he kept apologizing to us the wait for service. We were ok since gave us time to enjoy the warm weather, art works, interior of building (beautiful !!) and family time. Appetizers- go right for the onion soup dumplings- you won't be disappointed- Octopus - never thought I'd eat it- but glad I did. AMAZING. I didn't have an entree but my friends could literally cut their steak with a butter knife. Dessert- peanut butter and jelly ice cream cake- need I say more? The only " con"- if you can call it that- was the layout. My wife and I were given a gift certificate for our anniversary for the restaurant. Wow what a great place the service, presentation and food were great. I had the flat iron steak with fries and a chopped salad presented and done perfectly and best of all tasted great. My wife had the mushroom soup and a chicken Asiago dish that she loved. Well, there is a reason why there are no photos of their "garden cottage" called The Ashby Suite. This "cottage" is a converted garage, with glass doors at ground level that open right into the bedroom and the cheap window blinds doesn't even cover the glass panels in the door. The other ground level windows have towels over them to keep people from seeing in. Filthy inside, no internet (despite repeated calls for assistance), gas fireplace does not work, shower did not work (had to fix it myself), Rodent traps in the bathroom, filthy carpet... the list goes on. I can not believe what they are trying to charge for a nights stay ($275.00). This needs some serious work which they are not willing to do. Perhaps the restaurant is nice, but I wouldn't give this place a dollar more that I already did. Stay on the Lambertville side. read more

Four dinners and four horror stories. The Chef needs help to go back to some school of learning about food, taste, and presentation. A horrible experience to celebrate my retirement. Very charming and historic. Warm and quant. They kept the integrity of mansion's period style but added a little modern flair to keep it lively. The staff was absolutely wonderful and I thought the owner was lovely. My first time staying in a bed and breakfast it was all that I imagined it to be. Unbeknownst to me till days later, I had a little rendezvous with some ghosts. The first night, I woke up around 3 a.m. (ish) hearing children running up and down the stairs laughing and playing. This went on for awhile. If it hadn't been a cold night I would have gotten up to tell them to keep it down. But my accustomed-to-southern-Cal-warm-weather rear end stayed put and relented to stuff pillows over my head instead. The next day, I vented to my husband and in-laws about the lack of parental guidance in this day and age and who let's their children run a muck in the halls at a God forsaken hour? They felt bad for me because they didn't hear a peep and slept soundly. This was a bit perplexing since it was like surround sound to me but hey, I guess they were tired. The next night I slept but I struggled to keep my bed covers on. They kept sliding off strangely. By the next day my feathers were a bit ruffled since I saw no trace of any child staying at the Inn. I decided to suck it up and ask the inevitable. The young woman stationed at her desk just smiled and said, " No, there are no children staying here this weekend since you got here." I told her what I heard running the risk of sounding crazy. A slow smile crept across her face as I spoke. In a very calm manner, she informed me the mansion used to be a pediatrician's office back in its early days. The first owner was a doctor. It has been reported that some children and it's early inhabitants still reside at the Mansion Inn! So.... If you'd like a nice weekend getaway and looking for a ghost adventure while you're at it. Unfortunately, I did not actually get to try any of their food. I visited New Hope for the first time this past Saturday and came across The Mansion Inn while trying to find a place to eat. My friend and I looked over their menu on the sidewalk and it looked like the restaurant had a good variety of brunch items, so we walked up to eat there. A group of diners walked up first and they were seated on the outdoor front deck. So my friend and I just walked into the indoor restaurant and waited for someone to help us. There seemed to be one visible waiter running around doing everything. We were just standing for a few minutes waiting to be helped but nobody came around. Then, the cook came out and asked if we were being helped. He said we could sit on the deck as well and someone would be with us soon. The seating on the deck was limited because most tables were dirty with plates and glasses from other diners. I got the impression that they were really short staffed. So my friend and I had a seat and waited. The waiter passed by us several times while serving the group that just sat down ahead of us. He didn't say anything to us. He finally brought out some waters for us and said nothing, literally nothing. Not a "Hello" nor a "I'll be with you guys shortly." We thanked him for the waters and he again said nothing. We waited, and waited for him to bring out the menus. He finally brought them out and threw them down on the table and said nothing. We already knew what we were going to order since we checked out the menu on the sidewalk before coming in. Then, about five more minutes after that, the waiter decided to speak and said "I'll be with you guys shortly" after passing our table another time. We decided to get up and leave. It's a shame because they had some dishes that we really wanted to try. As long as we waited, that was not the reason we left. We left because the waiter was so rude. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because he looked so busy and he seemed to be frustrated, but he could have just treated us better. I'm no stranger to being short staffed at work, but you still have to remain professional. we were told that the room could sleep 3 with the couch. we told them the room was dirty and the couch was a love seat and we need a switch rooms. when we got back from the wedding nobody was around, they did not switch are rooms, so we left at 1130pm to drive back home. when calling them to discuss what happen all we got was lies and yelled at. we will never go there again or the bar/restaurant during the summer read more

Way overpriced for what it was. The room was not grand nor shabby chic it was just worn with a bathroom that wasn't even big enough for two people stand next to each other at the sink and a toilet that ran constantly unless you lifted the tank to stop it. When we checked in, they also neglected to mention the live music that went on in an outdoor bar area directly below our room until 11:30 at night - the not so great guitar player was so loud he sounded like he was in bed with us. Speaking of which, the bed was most uncomfortable with pillows that were lumpy and flat and a mattress that sagged. Ah, and let's not forget that window air conditioner that rattled and hummed all night long - yet couldn't drown out el Kabong downstairs! In the morning, the "B" in B and B was a cold breakfast consisting of cardboard bagels, watery coffee, half frozen, unripe fruit and some kind of white glop that might have been yogurt. On Saturday night we decided to go out for dinner and thought we would try The Mansion Inn,9 South Main New Hope PA.This place has been open for about 3 weeks and under new ownership.First we came in and fell in love with the decor,next the food was one of the BEST I have had in a long time.From appetizers,main course,and yes I even had desert.The food is fabulous that I definitely will be eating there at least once a month.They are open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday,which I am going to try after I go to lunch this Thursday.I just learned they will be open for lunch every Thursday and Friday starting the 27th of October.This food is amazing and the owners both stopped at our table to introdu e themselves to us and offered us suggestions to their fantastic menu.Unbelievable that old school style restaurant still exist in New Hope.I love it and will be one of their best customers with food I still think about my mouth waters.Great job Mansion Inn!!! read more

This place is under new ownership, and they are on the way to having a successful business. Had dinner there over the weekend, and the food was outstanding, along with the service. I ate the wild boar ragu and it was tasty and cooked to perfection. The owner and manger both came over to introduce themselves, My wife had the halibut which was delicious. The rest of our party loved their food. I will come back for sure. Only draw back is $15.00 for a shot of frangeiilca to put in your coffee is kind of steep, but other than that I would definitely recommend this place.
