Without hesitation, they both pointed me to Donn's Depot. They were absolutely right. From the moment I walked in, the place felt authentic. Not curated. Not trendy. Just a room full of people genuinely enjoying one another. The bartender was friendly, the regulars immediately welcomed a complete stranger to their table, and before long I was swapping stories with some of the kindest people I've met in a long time. Murphy's In-Laws were fantastic. Their musicianship was outstanding, and after I asked about a James Taylor song, they dusted off Steamroller--a song they hadn't played in years--and performed it like they had played it during warm-ups. Definitely not for the "first time in 15 years." They threw in "Shower the People" for me afterward! Donn's is one of those local favorites that is unforgettable because it provides moments you can't plan. One thing to know before you go: they don't serve meals, but they do have complimentary popcorn (which was great to discover if you haven't eaten anything prior to liquor)! What stayed with me most wasn't just the music. It was the hospitality. A stranger (who overheard my desire to hear Steamroller) quietly paid for my song request. A table of regulars pulled up a chair and made room for me. No one asked why I was there by myself. They simply welcomed me and nick-named me, "San Antonio." From a mic. If you're looking for polished nightlife, this may not be your place--but you probably need to go anyway. The authentic but repurposed train station opened in 1972. In fact, a vintage railcar serves as an elevated viewing area of the dance floor, and you may want to check out the women's caboose. Literally, the depot has a caboose for a restroom! Going on a Friday night, we paid the $10 cover and it was a little crowded, but there were a few seats at the picnic tables in the wrap-around patio and I managed to step on only a few feet on the small dance floor, dancing to Donn and his Station Masters playing honky-tonk soul, western swing, and rock and roll covers. Outside seating for resting between dances or simply chilling or frequenting outside bar Food truck alert...yes on the patio Massive number of regulars that extoll the joys of attending ladies night. Dancing in two locations - on the dance floor and small stage with DJ. Folks jumping up and down and dancing their hearts out. Dancing on the top of a large speaker...how cool was that? The venue is near the airport, which is a nice change of pace from fighting downtown traffic. Parking is available on-site, but note there's a fee; budget for that or factor in rideshare costs instead. The modular warehouse features varying floor plans and layouts with a large main room floor, upstairs mezzanine, two outdoor patios, and an adjacent field. The set was held inside, on the large main room floor. Two opening DJs got the crowd warmed up before Amelie Lens came on closer to midnight. The pacing felt right. I always wear hearing protection to music events. Keeping this in mind, the sound system was clean and powerful. Parallel screens running the length of the room, front to back, added a whole visual layer to the night. They clearly invested in getting the audio and visuals right. A detail worth mentioning for anyone planning to go is that there are free water dispensers set up in the back, which is a small thing that makes a big difference throughout the night. Staff were friendly and attentive all night. Service was smooth, and I never felt like the venue was understaffed or overwhelmed despite the crowd. Overall, this is a well-run venue with solid production value, thoughtful amenities, and a lineup that delivered. This is a room that respects the music. The sound and the flow of the night were perfect. Would happily come back for another set.

This place has also been rated the third best club in Austin several years in a row. They always manage everything so well despite the number of crowds they get. I've never waited longer than five minutes to get a drink at the bar. The Security staff is always so attentive and on top of everything. The staff checking everybody in is always happy polite and very pleasant to be around. I just can't wait for them to increase the height of their screen because as an avg girl who is 5.7" I never get to see any visuals or anything that happens on the stage or the screen. I recently went to silo and Dallas and did not have that problem at all because the screen was significantly higher. Concourse however really is home to the entire rave community not just in Austin, but in all of texas. This place will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts. They have an insanely delicious food truck that operates in the space outside that always delivers the best quality food. The only thing I would say about that specific food truck is that they seems scam me by taking advantage of intoxicated people through their tip system. The last time I went to pay, my suggested tip was defaulted at 25%, the next option was 30%, and the one after that was 35%. With how poor the rave community is, it is highly unfortunate to see that specific establishment, taking advantage of people who are under the influence and cannot make coherent decisions. This is of course, not a concourse problem, but a problem of that specific food truck operating in the backyard of Concourse.

It is important to note that all drinks come with a 20% forced gratuity, which is not bad if you have one drink and the drink is inexpensive. The back patio is covered by a shaded parachute. They host a variety of events. When I visited CUC, they were partnering with Nike for a 5K Pride run. After the run there was a variety of drink options to choose from. They have kombucha on tap, they serve amazing organic juice blend cocktails, local beers, biodynamic wines. I tried several of the organic juice blend cocktails and they were able to add my spirit of choice. I tried the Rosie Cheek with vodka, watermelon, rose water and raspberry, Valley Girl with tequila, pineapple, banana and coconut, and the Golden Ticket with mezcal, kombucha, ginger and lavender. They had a drag show on the patio after the run. It was a very fun and engaging experience.
