The Little Longhorn Saloon is famous for its Chicken Shit Bingo that occurs on Sunday nights. We actually visited twice a few weeks ago. Once during the week when friends brought us to some authentic Austin dive bars and then again on Sunday for bingo; which was really fun. The beer is basic domestic and imports. Drinks are more less standard cocktails and shots of "something." There was a band playing both nights we went and both were great. And, I was a winner at Bingo on Sunday when we went. Again, it was really fun and authentically Austin.
Was here from Washington State and came to see Chicken Shit Bingo. Even though I was $80 into tickets and I didn't win, I had a helleva good time. It was crowded, but great service and great people. Live band and dancing up front, chicken shit crowd filling the rest of the property...what more could you ask for on a Sunday afternoon?
Cool bar with a mixed crowd and the chicken shit bingo was pretty amusing. The drinks were reasonably priced. Bought tickets a couple of times for bingo, but sadly no wins. Bingo was out back and bar interior was narrow and dimly lit. Main parking lot was full, but there was extra space across the street, just precarious to cross.
I've been here several times and have no idea why I've never written a review. This is about as honky-tonk as you can get! Always great life music being performed. Built-in crowd and tourists. Old school decor that's for the soul and vibe of honky-tonk life. Great and fun service. Always a fun crowd. And, oh yeah, Chick Sh*t Bingo every Sunday. This is something everyone should experience. It's always hilarious, silly, and well, sh*tty.
Well for this city boy, I have to admit I was AMAZED from the second I walked in the door. Live music by local band Smith & Reeves playing authentic country music oldies and original . Texas 2- step dancers filled the entire place! And what a show these wonderful folks put on. I don't know how, but my friend was grabbed immediately and was twirling around all night. Great drinks at a cheap price, but most of the dancers were dancing not drinking. I was welcomed immediately. If you're in the area, this place is a must!!!

I loved that they only had 6 taps(that I saw) but they had a sour available which was unexpected but I was so happy was the case. The bartenders were fantastic. They were super fast and great at handling the insane volume of customers they had. We had a blast getting to sit outside in the beautiful weather. The saloon itself is exactly what you'd picture from a dive bar and is great.

There is a band inside and a bar inside too. The place is definitely a little small for the amount of people there but it works. Also seemed like a lot of people brought their own lawn chair because of the limited seating so would recommend that if you go for bingo on a Sunday. The people seemed friendly and the band was friendly too!
Come for the Chicken Poop Bingo! It's no secret everyone comes to this place for it. Children get to to purchase tickets first so you can use your children to your advantage! The bar is relatively small and they often have live music inside the bar. The line for the bar gets in the way of the restrooms with is not ideal and the staff goes in and out of the same location to manage the chicken poop bingo.

The bingo cage is now outside so more room for everyone to gather. The crowd is mixed so everyone can have a great time. Everyone seems well behaved so far but the hours are 3-8 for the CSB. We played once but were to lazy to buy another ticket. The lines are long and we were pretty lazy after two beers. Glad we got here early to nab a patio chair. But to be honest if there was something better to do, I'd be doing it. Not much competition if I'm getting excited watching a chicken sh!t. Thinking about the list of shows I could be streaming rn.
Old school digs for live music They have one or two different bands pretty much every eve of the year, and that's pretty much what you're here for. The place is a bit loud, but not unbearably so, the people are friendly, the kusic is usually good (ion a honky-tonk kinda way), the beer is cheap and cold, and, we'll, what else do you want?
This is such an awesome and unique experience for any first time visitors! Every Sunday they have Chicken Bingo and I highly recommend it! There is a bar and the chicken cage is outside so bring chairs or be ready to be prepared in the weather. They do this every Sunday it seems like and the buy ins are not incredibly expensive. We spent $40 and I won! Really awesome time! The service was hit or miss because you have to find who is selling the tickets for bingo. They Just got the ability to sell hard alcohol I believe and they sell beer in the bucket but be warned if you buy a bucket of beers you need two people! We were unaware of this rule and my friend had to get his wife to buy the bucket. If it takes the chicken a long time to go to the bathroom they bring in a second chicken lol. Have a great time, we sure did! Also parking was nearly impossible to find so we had to park across at the restaurant, eat then catch the 5:00 round.

We were in town for the Texas vs OSU football game and decided to spend Sunday afternoon at The Little Longhorn Saloon. Came for the Chicken Shit Bingo but stayed because of the fun atmosphere, friendly service, and old school country band led by Brandon Rosage. If you are a fun outgoing person, go here! Bet a few bucks on the bingo, have a few cold beers, and meet cool locals and out-of-towners. Owner is super cool. Bartenders are friendly and responsive. Young lady running the bingo is well organized and kept the games moving along. No cover (but the band will earn your tip, they are really good!) Food varies weekly (chili dogs when we were there). Go here if you are looking to have a great experience! read more
This is definitely a place that keeps Austin weird! It's a fun place to spend a Sunday afternoon - especially if you are hosting out of town friends or family. Don't buy too many tickets for just one round - sometimes the chicken poops right away. The bar is real hole in the wall which makes it all the more fun! read more

Every time I've been here, it's just - great time. Bands are always good. Drink selection is good. Chicken shit bingo (Sundays) is so much fun. Even though Ginny has been gone for a while (RIP), it still has the same vibe. Classic Austin, for sure. read more

Ambiance was absolutely family 30 years ago when none of us had grey hair. Dale Watson hadn't left for Nashville yet still traveled around by pickup and trailer. Don and Ginny made sure everyone was family. Micky Lynn, Little Tammy, Dawn, Paul and myself: Tommy just loved the place. I just came back to Texas and can't wait to get there. read more
Chicken sh*t bingo is one of my favorite things to do in Austin! It's a great place to hang loose, drink a beer with some buddies, and watch a chicken sh*t! Price is reasonable with tickets ranging from $2 and $5 per a ticket. Everyone there is just there chilling and having a good time. It's a really nice environment and it gets exciting once the game starts. Everyone huddles around the pen watching anxiously as the chicken moves around. Would definitely recommend anyone who visits Austin to come out on Sundays 4-8pm to play some bingo! Parking is a little bit difficult since the location is kind of small. However once you get there, there's a sign showing where other parking is available. read more

Tuesdays and Wednesdays 7-8pm they have two stepping dance lessons. Come out here and have a good time. It's a smaller dance space than you may be used to, but the staff and guests that frequent this spot are so kind. The little longhorn saloon has a very quaint rustic/western feel to it. I recommend stopping at one of the restaurants nearby and then ending the night with some good ole country dancing. If you aren't much of a dancer, the drinks are fairly priced and there are plenty of spots to sit and just enjoy the live music. I hope you enjoy. read more

Love this place and chicken shit bingo! It's A cool Sunday evening and we're drinking wine and beer and betting that a chicken will defecate on so someone can win cash. Yep, I'm crazy and this is so much fun I can't believe I'm admitting it. The back of the bar is packed with people and we're having a blast. Will be back. read more

Why did the chicken cross the road? To take a dump for chicken shit bingo on Sunday nights at the Little Longhorn Saloon. Whether you are 25 or 75, fun time was had by all. Inside, playing was a great country band. Outside were 6 rounds of chicken shit bingo. If the number you have matches where the chicken dump lands in the cage, you win between $114 & $200. Met some crazy Irish guys, two step dancers, and really anyone who wanted to laugh. Beer buckets were reasonable with 5 bottles for $10. No clue on how the food is, but place is a bundle of fun on Sunday night. Head over late Sunday afternoon and parking can be tricky so you may have to park in another lot close to The Little Longhorn. Vino Geno read more

Yeah, it's fair to say Austin is weird. And here is a perfect example of it. chicken sh*t bingo! Every Sunday from 4-8, this small bar hosts their famous bingo game where participants bid money on a number on a plot, waiting for a chicken to do its business. If you're lucky enough to be chosen, you can win a large amount of money, the sum depending on whether you pick a black or gold ticket. One round takes around an hour or two for setup, but the actual moment lasts around 5 minutes. Everyone is great spirited and hyped, and you'll be wanting to play over and over again. It's a great vibe all around, and besides watching the chickens, you can go inside the bar to grab a drink, dance along to some live music, or hang outside by the tents to drink beer and chat with friends. Definitely a must do for visitors from outside of town! read more
