We visited the area for two weeks from upstate NY. I'm not really sure how we came across this place with their very limited web presence, but somehow we managed to scrounge up a photo of their menu and placed the order over the phone. We ordered a white pizza and added chicken, broccoli and feta. We weren't 100% clear on what we were doing, but it seemed to match our cravings at the moment. We threw in a cheese steak and a gyro as well. The pizza had a good NY style consistency, which I think was what we were going for. The feta cheese gave a boost to the already creamy and salty white style pizza. It was great for the first slice, and increasingly a little much with every slice after. I ended up eating a slice for lunch over the next few days to finish it up. I'll bet they make a decent pepperoni. The cheese steak and the gyro were good, nothing out of the ordinary. The whole experience was rushed on our end, I think we would have found a better place to order from if we had more time. The place itself was pretty small and would have been easy to miss. When I say they have the best Italian meatball and cheese sub ever , been coming here for close to 18 years . The bread is flakey never soggy no matter how much of there delicious in house sauce is on it . I also recommend a slice of pizza, it's made In house they sell the whole pie or the slice any toppings you want . read more

It has been about a year since I've been here. I decided not to continue eating here after the following incident: Starving and making the decision to be bad, I decided to grab a quick slice. I walked in and approached the counter. During my walk towards the counter, I wasn't greeted or acknowledged until after I made it to the counter and waited a few seconds. You may be thinking no one was at the counter, wrong. The gentleman stood there staring at his phone behind the register the whole time as I waited to be acknowledged. Lol I told myself "ok, whatever just order your slice" I ordered and the gentleman reached under the counter and grabbed a slice to put in the oven. I'm watching the whole time and thank God I did because I noticed how he didn't wear gloves but yet he touched my slice. He touched my slice with those hands that were just touching his phone and no doubt also touching the register . . . . I stood there and thought, hmm . . well the heat will kill off whatever germs came from his hands. But then I realized, oh heck nah! I'm good. I told him nevermind, I'm good and walked out. Not only did you not acknowledge my presence, your dirty hands touched my slice. Not cool. I quickly turned right and hit up Subway instead. I still needed to eat. Popped in here to grab a slice for my son. The people behind the counter were being silly and pushing each other around. I assume it was all in good fun - I love fun pizza. I first discovered Gianni's way back in the early 90s when I was still in high school and lived in Severn! Decades later, with a family and living 20 minutes away, it's still one of my favorites. The owner, George, is loved and revered by all of his customers. It's not just because their pizza is amazing, but he is too! Very unassuming, Tucktaway in a little strip mall, you absolutely must go in for a slice if you are in the area! Their pizza is delicious and their subs are fantastic as well. I know many people who live out of state and, when they come back to Maryland, they always make a trip to Gianni 's! It's definitely worth it. read more

This pizza has been a hit for football gatherings and kids birthday parties. No doubt a step up from your chain restaurant pizzas. For $26 we got a larger pep pizza, garlic cheese bread and sodas. The staff is always very friendly here so no complaints there. This is my husbands favorite NY style pizza place but I'm a fan of another spot. The pizza is good but weirdly the best part about it pizza to me is the crust. The crust is delicious! It's the reason for the 3 stars. I've never really wanted a pizza for the crust before. Crust is not suppose to be the star of the pizza show unless your a "save the best for last pizza eater". Gianni's pizza is mine and my girlfriend's favorite spot to grab pizza when we're in Severn, MD. I had seen this parlor several times before I finally made the decision to visit one day and was impressed with how nice the staff is. Here's the run down; Gianni's has been a staple in the Fort Meade/Severn community for 30 years. It's run by family, it's not a chain, and everything is made fresh and in house. PROS: You get a choice of either New York, or Chicago style pizzas, red sauce, or pesto, fresh mozzarella if you're in the mood for a Margherita pizza. Another pro is everything is fresh and tastes fresh. The pizza's come in three sizes, and they're plentiful as Gianni's gives you just the right amount of toppings. CONS: The pizza could use more seasoning in the tomato sauce. I've had Gianni's five or six times now, and it can taste a little bland until you jazz it up yourself. FINAL VERDICT: Overall, I prefer the freshness of Gianni's ingredients over an over seasoned chain style pizza and will continue to visit Gianni's whenever I need my pizza itch scratched. read more

Needed to waste some time so we decided to hit up Gianni's and try a slice of pizza. I'm so glad we did because we loved it. $3 for a pepperoni slice that I initially though was a cheese slice since I didn't know they cover the toppings with cheese and not cheese first then toppings. The layering and ratio of crust, sauce, toppings, and cheese was perfect. The price for a slice is more expensive than what I'm used to but that's alright and acceptable for great pizza and service. Food was good. They sell pizza by the slice. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't offer lunch specials, but the prices werent too bad and the pizza was pretty good. It was a little over $2 a slice. I found my new lunch spot. Seating can be difficult. There is more business than there are tables. If you are in the area, I recommend checking it out. read more

How this place has an average of only 4 stars is beyond me. It's located in the strip mall behind Pizza Hut and Popeyes right near the base. The customer base is cool and local, the service from the owner running the front was SO genuine, and they were tossing dough! Any pizza place that makes their own dough and bakes it in the oven wins in my book. The owner was funny - he told me to grab a beer while I waited for my calzone in the same way my dad would tell me. The place just feels like family! Oh, and of course the food was amazing. I had a calzone with chicken, bacon, black olives, and pepperoni. It was one of the best calzones I've had in a long time. Photos and memorabilia of family, customers and local first responders on the wall assure you it's a family run business and the friendliness of the counter staff bears that out. This pizza is delicious! After months of Domino's from COVID shut in, it was a breath of fresh air to have "actual pizza." The crust has a nice chew, and after months of eating buttery pizza, I was sad that it was drier than what I'm used to.
