What happened? I shopped here regularly since they opened and everything was great as recent as this past November (2023.) No more. Instead of the fresh and fair priced produce of several months ago, the produce is often dry, slimy or just plain rotten and should be chucked. And what produce they do have that is just "ok" is being sold for nearly twice what it was just six months ago. All garlic is from China which we know to be grown in sewage and bleached so I'm guessing much of the produce is from there as well. Toxic!!! The fish market smells horrible and you can't judge it's freshness anymore. The age old problem of cashiers who are often rude or just plain ignore you remains the same. Very few speak English but those that do refuse to do so and they talk to each other about the customers. I know. I speak fluent Spanish y yo entiendo todos. The management definitely hires illegals (two that I am aware of) both of whom are decent and hard working. But the managers never seem to want to assist us and they themselves are stand-off ish. Used to be my go to place for fresh veggies and fruit. Owner seems have just let it go and store is dirty under stocked over priced. Will not be returning ever again. Oakland is the same condition. I was going to the laundromat and stopped in to get detergent and fabric softener sheets. The smallest box of fabric softener was $9!!! Forget it. I had been meaning to visit this store for the longest time and finally had a chance to this past weekend. This spot goes beyond just offering fruits and vegetables, there's so many packaged goods that you could easily find any of the necessities or treats you may want. The produce section was definitely impressive, especially given the amount of fruits they carry. The prices were really great and naturally, I ended up loading my basket with several things before I knew what was happening. They also carry some unique packaged items that you can't find at standard supermarkets. They also had a small pastry selection with gluten-free treats available, which was really cool. read more

I have been to the Oakland farmers market which I think is owned by the same people and this is much better and bigger, I mean based on my sole experience yesterday with the 99 Cent blueberries which are usually 4-6 dollars at stop and shop this place is well worth it and way cheaper for your produce needs , but even more they have a butcher/ deli and a designated Colombian and Mexican empanada station and a hot food/ salad buffet section with a decent selection , I found no issues with cleanliness so maybe they've found they're stride. I've had nothing but disaster in the produce section of every major supermarket I have been to because of so called "supply issues". If you need that abstract fruit, veggie or herb you've been looking for im pretty sure these guys will have it! read more

This place used to be a good neighborhood supermarket but Giant has taken a turn for the worse. The new owners have done a nice job on giving the interior a much needed face lift, however, all the fresh goods (especially the deli area) are all expired. If you must shop here, check the expiration dates before leaving. Almost everything is past it's prime. read more

I've been shopping at the Oakland location for years and was so excited when I found out they were opening this location just because slightly closer. What a huge disappointment! Doesn't have the same quality as Oakland location at all. Produce is terrible and not that big of a selection. Why does this location have tomatoes refrigerated? Not proper way to store. Never tried the bakery which other location doesn't have. The fish monger salt shores rents space and is also in Oakland but waldwick larger spot. I always spend minimum $80 on fish because it's good quality and good selection however I was disappointed with the quality at this location. Mahi mahi was just mushy and not good to eat. I find the guys at the fish counter very courteous and helpful despite my displeasure with the fish. Overall a very odd setup and nothing to rush in for at this location. read more

We used to love this place when they opened, as all the food was fresh. Today I went and purchased some groceries. So far two apples were mealy. Sausage I purchased was packed 10 days ago. Macaroni salad was tough and bland. Verv disappointed that I have to check expiration dates on items I'm shopping for. Especially during the current pandemic we are going thru. I also wanted to surprise my wife with some flowers. Many of them died the next day. They put straws on the stems to keep the flower upright, knowing that it's on its way out. To me that is shady business. This store has a lot of potential and I hope management starts to improve it. read more

I came in contact with the owner once and I died him about some crackers my husband loves and he said he didn't have them but the next time I went they were on the shelf! I so appreciated that he listened to my needs and came through. They have a nice mix of all kinds of ethnic foods which is great cause I don't have to travel far to a different supermarket to fine them. I have mixed feelings on this store I shop since they opened. The prices are good but quality of produce and veggies could be improved. Many times I must pick thru the fruit to weed out the fruit either moldy or over ripe. The veggies also are at times soft with only a day or two more shelf time and must be used quickly if purchased. The deli meats are Boars Head and priced less than any chain store around, with seldom a line to wait with one or maybe two people ahead. The deli slicers could be more friendly and more than once tried to stick the end cut in my package which is not appreciated. The location is fine yes it's a bit tricked to pull in and out but there is plenty parking spaces. And we need a store like this in the area. I sometimes think the Waldwick store gets the leftovers which why the shelf life is so short. Unfortunately, I know people who live a block away won't go and instead travel to Oakland store. If the store expects to survive long term and I hope it does freshness and service keep people coming back along with lower prices which the Giant Farmer Markets are known. read more

They have super prices, excellent produce if you don't let it sit for 2 weeks (who does that anyway?) They enforce masks which is a huge relief. We got sunflowers there recently, and they were georgeous. We love them for produce, oxtail soup, unique sodas, and nice thick cuts of steak. read more

Today I went in to buy 4 small pint sized tomatoes and pitted kalamala olives. I noticed nearly all of the containers of the brand Golden Bright Tomato Medley tomatoes were moldy and when I got home the olives were inedible because they were spoiled and the cherries I bought were about 50% brown with soft squishy spots. When I went to return these items (same day) the manager pointed to a register and told me to get in that line. I said please don't make me wait in this long line I still have to go to another store to replace these items. He had a big smirky smile and he said to the cashier in Spanish, work slowly so she has to wait longer. One of the shoppers on the line told me what he said. I looked at him and he started a mocking laugh and slowly walked away. I had to wait over 20 min on a line of shoppers. Also, they did not remove the rotten olives off of the bar, or thenmoldy tomatoes off the shelfs even though manager said they would remove them immediately. read more

I am in love with this farmer's market. I was told by a friend how great it is and immediately went this past weekend. I am in love with the produce section. Super fresh and well priced, some items being cheaper than surrounding grocery stores, other items on par with other farmer's markets and grocery stores. However, I just fell in love with the freshness of the produce. Slightly irrational but I was super excited! They had a bakery section, cold cuts, seafood, and other regular grocery items with an Asian/European flair to it. You would think that this place has been in Waldwick for 50 years and has not been updated. You would never believe me, if I told you it's only been in town for a few months. Other than being relatively run down looking, the produce albeit cheap, is rarely organic. I don't understand what took them so long to build this place, yet they didn't even replace the Ceiling tiles that are rotted and stained.
