I have ordered from this store for a long time. I have NEVER been disappointed in their personnel, their courtesy, even under times of great stress (bombarded with shoppers). Well, when I go in even the grumpiest employee is really nice to me, as long as I don't take up a lot of this time! A hello, how are you is good. I have asked for stuff and somebody has always found it, we've laughed when it's be basically in front of me. I asked for a chicken (whole) to one girl and she said they were just putting them out and stay put and she'd be right back. She brought me like a dozen chickens, different sizes, shapes, etc. and let me have my pick. I was kind of following this guy, we were going down one aisle and up the next at different speeds. When he looked at me I said, "I'm sorry, I'm really NOT stalking you!" He laughed and said, "Well in that case, why don't we just be aisle buddies!?" I ran into another group of employees sitting on the floor by the breads figuring stuff out and I looked at the one guy I'd seen all over the store and apologized and said I was really stalking him. They ALL BROKE OUT LAUGHING and finally one of them explained that he was afraid I might think he was stalking me! I'm in there a lot and they've always been so nice and helpful. I left my cell phone in one of the carts one time, it had my grocery list on it. Someone turned it into a cashier and she glanced at the pictures and called my adult daughter and told her I had the phone and maybe she could get in touch with me!? I wish I could put no stars after the way my son was treated tonight when trying to return an item. He was told the register was closed at 9 when you are open until 10. And when he went to ask a question he was ignored and the worker walked away from him, they treated him like this because he is a teenager and they took advantage of him. This store is by far the worst Giant market I have ever walked into and needs to honestly be shut down. Whenever I walk into this store it's complete chaos and nobody knows their job or how to do it. They are not very friendly at all , if you're looking for a greeting from the workers don't even count on it. The products within the store are always (OOC=out of code) from the beverages that are in the cases by the registers, meats in the meat department and also the dairy area, and products within the isles as well. The produce department hasn't ever given me and issue with out of codes besides one time and the manager ( Trevon ) in produce does a very good job with staying on top of his products and dates from the few times I have came in. The bakery department is also a horrible and unkept area within this store as well and they never have the products that are needed, especially donuts and muffins are never out when walking into the store in the morning , they had a phenomenal manager that worked over their before I believe her name was (Aviance) I don't know what happen to her, she probably got transferred but when she was in bakery she always had products out and ready to go but when you ask the manager (Nicole) which I believe is the new manager in bakery she always has a very unpleasant response and attitude - when asked when will they be coming out or done she responded with when I get to it and rambled on complaining so I then walked away but I overheard her talking to the woman who was preparing the cakes how she hates these " white privileged customers, they see you back her doing all these things and want to stop you and ask you about some damn donuts - I'll get to them when I get to them or you can come back here and do it yourself." I don't think she was aware that when I walked away I could still hear her loud and clear, people like her shouldn't have a job let alone be in the position of management because that is not how you conduct yourself at all especially when working in customer service. The deli is also an area that very much disturbs me, the cleanliness is horrible, their is always dead flies or dead bugs on the products on the sales floor or even in the products, I brought cheese from the case and when I got home I realized the cheese was out of date from two weeks ago and it had mold growing on it, That really upset me and left me dissatisfied. Some of the workers in the deli have very great attitudes and pleasant vibrations and are helpful and welcoming when approaching this area then their are those who are very rude and ignorant. The employees that always give me great service from this department that I love seeing when I come for my lunch meats or cheeses are Serenah I believe I got her name right, Jessica who I see cooking food all the time and a young lady named Tabby i always mistaken her to be the manager because of her leadership demeanor and how she works but their work ethics are phenomenal but I can't say that about their manager (Marcus) a few times when I visited the deli I noticed that he was incoherent and could barely comprehend what I was asking for and I had to repeat myself multiple times and he smelled like straight alcohol which is not good at all, very unprofessional and disturbing. I also watched him making raw food and came to assist a customer with the same gloves on and never washed his hands to even change his gloves, putting headphones in his ears while with gloves on and continued to package food without changing them also didn't wear a beard guard or tie his hair back as it was out over the food which is not food safe at all. I could go in to way more details but I just thought that I would start off with those few experiences in which they need to be taken seriously and not over looked and addressed. Giant at it again....ordered groceries thru Giant Direct today picked up at noon. Ordered Borshead corned beef 1 lb for 18.00. Opened up to serve for dinner was 90% fat in slabs! Got dressed,used gas and went to customer service. SHE WAS VERY NICE AND GAVE REFUND. Also said if I wanted replacement it would be free. I asked to see the lunchmeat and it was beautiful. The time the slop was sliced was 10:30am. He said it was Dexter. HOW COULD HE "SLICE" AND SERVE A POUND OF FAT? The lazy bastard didn't care just give it to customer. PLEASE FIRE THIS ASS. Small Giant, as others have mentioned. It will get the job done for most basic groceries. I am pleased and impressed that when I gave "feedback" to corporate about this location not carrying specific items I wanted, the manager of this location promptly got in touch with me, and they now stock those items regularly (and I now buy them regularly), so thank you! For the small lot size, and the busy-ness of this shopping center, I am impressed that when we've stopped, at all times of day or night, there is always a parking space open up front, and never any hassle of chaos getting in or out of the center. This store is never busy when we've stopped. They have a regular flow of customers, for sure, but it's never a long wait at checkout, barely ever any lines. They process people swiftly and painlessly. I do have to gripe that this location randomly does not carry hair dye at all. I guess I should offer more "feedback" about that. It makes zero sense to me, that as a grocery store, and at twice the size of CVS up the street, this Giant can't manage to carry even a minimal selection of hair dye, while CVS has an whole aisle of it. CVS is located way closer to Acme, and Acme has it. Anyway, for standard items, you will find what you need here. Make sure to visit within peak hours, though, if you want bakery items and the like, because as a small store, they do not stock up a lot, and you will leave empty-handed. Decent but average grocery store. I specifically came here trying to pick up some prepared food to be able to bring into lunch, but the selection was pretty meager. The redeeming factor for this place was I was checking out but did not have a Giants reward card. So the cashier used hers so I could get the sale prices. Finally a supermarket opened up! I was so sad when the previous Genuardi's closed down. Last minute grocery shopping for missing ingredients during Thanksgiving or the holidays was inconvenient. We would always have to drive out to the Shop Rite in West Chester or the ACME in Newtown Square, both of which in my opinion were more expensive. I always liked GIANT because I felt their prices were more reasonable and often times trekked over to the one in Broomall. The new GIANT here is clean and all the workers are super nice. I had bought a bouquet of flowers here for the gf and they lasted a whole month and still looked really fresh. It was amazing! Their baked goods are also pretty yummy. I called the bakery, never having been there (this Giant is near my parents' house), and I spoke with Adam, who was very helpful, about custom cake options. Two days before I needed it, I ordered a half sheet cake (chocolate with vanilla icing) with a construction dig decopac for my son's 2nd birthday. I had my mom pick it up on her way to the birthday party. It was a hit! It looked great, my son is really enjoying playing with the two toys he got to keep that came on top, AND it tasted delicious! Everybody kept asking me where I got the cake! I thought it was a great deal (just under $40) for a large cake that was special, customized, tasted great, and fed lots of people. Not to mention the basics, that it was ready on time and my son's name was spelled right! Just wanted to write this review to say thanks! And I also have one tip: Adam told me that that was the last construction dig decopac that they had in stock at the time, so if you were looking for something specific, you'd probably want to order farther in advance than I did. read more

By far one of the cleanest grocery stores I've even been in. The isles were all stocked neatly and the service was very friendly. Every label pointing forward for the customer. Thought I was in the twilight zone or something. Picked up few things and the cashier was so friendly. Scary lol the parking lot clean as it can be. No issues with this location of Giant - and fortunately I shopped at a non-peak time - a weekday at 5 PM. Place was dead empty - just the way I like it. I really like the Giant in Newtown Square (Rt.3). It's further than most grocery stores (to where I live), but it's my favorite. It is clean, well-stocked, and the workers are very nice. They constantly go out of their way to help me find something I need. Yesterday when I shopped and a new cashier named Kathy rang me up. Her customer service skills were exceptional. Customer service is non existent toward closing - I made a purchase, paid the bill, then checked the detail for errors. I found a $3 error. They would NOT give me a refund then and there - making me return to get a refund. The customer is being inconvenienced because they made an error. This is inconsiderate and just wrong.
